I just mentioned this in the RBA forum, does anyone else here use a "sacrificial short" or hotspot to get rid of a really stubborn short/hotspot (usually the top coil)? Basically if you use a metal object to adjust your coils, you can poke or rake another coil and your SS and create an instant hotspot, which then disappears and causes the stubborn hotspot to also disappear. It's a bit risky if you don't know what you're doing, but as a last-resort option, it works wonders...

Do this at your own risk...I live dangerously :evil:

Anyone here buy the magnets and use em? Better / worse?

I put the magnets in 2 days ago and I also use all five, 3 bottom 2 top and I like it. Not sure if I will keep it this way only because it takes sooo little force to fire that I'm weary to set it down without locking, and also because it seems like the magnets aren't quite strong enough to push the switch all the way out after you take a vape. But it sure does make it super smooth.

I do this all the time with my syringe tip. I have never popped a coil doing it this way.

You know as far as the fuse goes why do you need it. I dont push and I dont have problems. Knock on wood no battery problems in 9 months no charger problems. I just dont push my limits. You csn get tasty clouds without doing all of that. Mmmm tasty clouds. Takes break to vape. Just my 2 cents

Honestly I think every device needs one :/ There's a lot of stuff that can happen even when you are "a safe vaper". Especially when there are so many new vapers getting into the RBA stuff without doing research first.

I have been listening to the Vapelink show and man people are giving him a hard time.

I just finished watching it, had to wait til after work, heh- 2 hours is a loong show...

I feel like Mike really was able to clear the air- I have mucho respect for someone willing to do that, even if I didn't care for one of his devices. I promised the Zenfidels I would try another of his later down the road, and see if the QC issues had gone away (and whether the conductivity issues were gone as well).

JC was heeatedd...but it's understandable, man. I would've been too, after hearing the whole story.
Honestly I am trying to forget about that show
Really, why is that? I found it more captivating than most of the others so far... :) It was like real reality TV without the filler...

I live 5 hours north.

Currently, I am living in my hometown of Sellersville, PA- 3k miles away from my "true" home. I will ALWAYS rep the 707...Humboldt county is my home for life.

I'm at the Teflon insulator part, I'm glad Faceless don't use that.

Mine fused to my wick the first (and last) time I tried it ;)

Best thing about it is that it is removable- even Zen mentioned that in his vid. I am really able to see the reasons for a lot of the "things" going on with his devices- he's covered all of his bases insurance-wise, and it has created these devices that all seem to only be "properly usable" in one way- with his wick and wire, one type of batteries, an insulator, low-ohm-proof spring, etc...it ALL makes sense now. He's sufficiently covering his ... .

Maybe that's something Faceless could have in stock with the other accessories.

Edit: The extra lenght with the fuse also made it quite stiff to tighten all the way, the movement of the delrin is probably not designed with this in mind.

agreed. assuming the top screw has silver for conductivity (if i read that right) you'd probably only want to tinker with the bottom screw, which doesnt leave enough room to play even with the shortest flat top screw.

Only solution I see is if Faceless sees the need for protection, and creates a 3mm trim ring that you would screw onto the bottom of the atomizer base BEFORE screwing on your battery tube. Could look nice with accent colors to really set your device off (thinking gold plated on a gunmetal standard for instance.)

And Faceless, if you run with this I'll close my submission for patent in trade for one (or a couple if you end up doing colors ;))
