There is a lot of great info in this thread. I've been looking at a Itaste VV V3 for my upgrade from cig-a-likes. My only big concern is (and forgive me if it has been asked) how long do the batteries last? When vaping a good extracted tobacco I will take a long enough draw to hit the protection on my Halo G6. With that said I usually get about 2 -3 hours out of a 78mm 808d1. After that the flavors get muted and start gunking in the cart. How much longer would an Itaste last running at 4.2 - 4.5v?

Also, how many recharges before the battery starts giving up the ghost?

Mike, los (length of service) is really dependent on your setup. I can't comment on your current as I don't know what a 78mm 808di is as far as mah rating. Gunking in the cart possibly could be due to the pg/vg ratio and flavor additives. Battery should give you about 500 cycles as long as you do your part and charge when it gets to 3.7 - 3.6v. Trust me to say that this will last much longer than your current battery.

The other plus of being a regulated system is that you won't see a decrease in performance as the battery depletes during the day; it'll just not fire if it's not able to deliver the power you're asking from it at that time. It's also a pass-through-ish device, so you can plug into your charging source and draw on it at the same time.

Thanks very much; poking that center thingy on the vv's connector seems to have done the trick!
Thanks, also, to both you and Paul for not sighing and saying that this topic had been covered previously.

So...I'd hate to tell you all the thought processes that went thru my mind when I started to think the thing was broken. First, I knew I had another (plus a spare I have sitting in its unopened box). I started to calculate what the cost would be if I had to buy a new vv once a month. Well, that would actually cost me less than the amount I spent on analogs in a WEEK.
Then I started to think about whether I should look into getting a whole different magic wand system...ugh, that would require knowledge.
And then, I realized that I was experiencing the feeling I used to have when I knew I was going to run out of analogs soon and had to hustle to the store.
What a relief to know I went through all of that mood swing for nothing!

Wow, you did run that one through a bit didn't you? :)

The 510/ego connection on both the VV3 and the MVP can be a problem for some. It really is one of the few weak spots left with these two devices. I have noticed a pattern through many user comments that it occurs most often after using a device that is ego threaded and then trying to use a 510 threaded device.

They simply will not play well with the Kanger T-2's that are my preferred toppers. My solution is to run an ego/510 adapter all the time and I never have problems.

The Aspire Vivi Nova and mini Nova that I have do have issues without a spring loaded adapter or air flow controller. Other 510 threaded toppers seem to play better. My 3 RDAs don't have any problems going back and forth.

The Nova/mini Nova Aspires work fine on my gf ego c. I think they are just a little shorter of a 510 threading than others.

The Halo site says that their G6 78 mm. batteries are 280 mAh while the VV 3.0 is 800 mAh. You should get a little over 2 1/2 times the battery life.

NETS tend to gunk coils. If you use clearos you can clean and dry burn them rather than having to toss cartos when they get gunky. I'm not much of a tobacco vaper but I've read several comments that Ahlusion's NETs tend to be a little cleaner than those from other vendors.

I see 300 full charge cycles being mentioned as the expected lifetime of eGo sized batteries. However, if you only allow the batteries to become partially depleted before charging rather than allowing them to get fully depleted you get more total hours out of the batteries.

Hey Mike.
I hope this helps. I ran a sort of experiment today. My black vv I had a smok slim pyrex dct at 1.6 ohms running at 4.2 volts today. I left it on all day so I could see what roughly was my "puff count" before having to charge it.
1.6 ohms at 4.2 watts lasted me 229 4.5 second puffs. Then I was suddenly at red a few minutes ago and went to charge it.

I alternate between three devices throughout the day, but that is what my VV told me today.

Wandering around in other threads, you don't hear much about cartos being favored. I have 2 small cartos and find the flavors outstanding. I also use pt2s a great deal and learned to rebuild. I think the variety of tanks, options and nuances of each is party of the fun experience. For me, it keeps my head into vaping and away from a cig.

Storm, I agree wholeheartedly. Learning how to use the gear was a very important factor in my early vape journey, and precisely for the reasons you mentioned. I was too busy YouTubing and dripping and Googling that I had no time to think about having a cig!

I'm still doing that! I thought I had a decent base of knowledge. Turns out I know very little and learn more every day. PBusardo and Rip Trippers occupy a lot of my free time (which bothers the gf... A lot).

Reading new threads leaves me with more questions (and more things that I want to buy)

My previous post has a whole list of goodies I'll be receiving over the next month. Very excited! :vapor:

You guys are referring to Dimitris. He's the head of the Vape Team and he's sensational. A wealth of information, a true advocate to vaping, and a totally down to earth man with the biggest heart in the world. He and Phil are BFFs. I do like Dimi very, very much. We have actually become friends.

Another great reviewer is Scott, aka igetcha69 ,on YouTube. He's been around for many years and has tested everything out there. Linear, logical, detailed, and to the point.

ETA...and let me not forget to add that he has THE most adorbs English accent (go on ladies - ya know you're going to look him up). ;)

This just happened to me. I think using a heavy topper like the aerotank on a vv3 without the extra rivets is the culprit. :( mea culpa.

David, did you pop the lid right off before bonding or did you just run a bead in the gap that was appearing between the top edge of the case and the bottom edge of the chrome "lid"? The single rivet seems to still be doing its thing, it's just the other 3 edges that won't stay put.

Thanks!
c.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm traveling at the moment, road trip, and only have wifi at night...

No, left the lid on, since I didn't want to risk breaking any wires, and just forced a thin bead under the lifted edge. That was some months back, and it's still holding fine. :)

Don't know if a heavy topper with the 1 rivet model would do it, maybe... Mine was from repeated drops

Now to try to catch up with the rest of the thread!
