I got mine presale at $150 and it did come with a charger and 2 sets of batteries. Yeah, it was pricey, but I like it and basically, I just like 5V mods. I think I'm trying to buy them all!![]()
Hey Redgirl, how many attys has ur Joker fried? And 510? 801?
I use regular Joye 510s and I haven't fried one yet.
Goes from 3.7-6v.... But what about the 5v sweet spot? I'm not sure I will opt for this upgrade. Ill take 5V over 3.7 or 6 any day =P
Another note, I asked since they're adding the varible voltage regulator if we could use the 3.7 volt batteries. The reply I got was no, keep using the 3 volt LifePO4. Don't make much sense to me since the BUZZ can use the 3.7 volt batteries.
3.7 volt batteries are a little longer than the 3 volt and maybe that's why the Joker can't use them.
LOL, well mine lasted another 6 days before acting up again. This time the protection circuit startted kicking in and won't let me get a full hit after it warms up just a bit. Back off for RMA, 3rd times a charm huh. I've only been able to use mine a total of 12 days since I bought it.
Mine has been frying a few attys again. My GLV-2 5v PV never fries em. That confirms it, this thing was poorly made and overpriced at that. The vaper talk store and dietsmokes just suddenly stopped selling it. Guess they are tired of sending out replacements..
Switched my Joker to an 801 connection, so far so good. My faith is a big fat Zero though.
I'm guessing the 801 adapter minimizes the heat transfer between atty and the unit - i've noticed heat damage related issues in many devices and wondering if there shouldn't be some sort of 'heat sink' adapter available to address this.
On a side note,
Bustastew, are you happy with your GLV? I'm curious why you bought a joker if you were?
After looking at a few units, i've decided against the Joker and ordered a GLV instead. I'm really tired of failures in batteries and PT's ( Had a PS PT that was returned 3x and still doesn't work, as well as 4 Egos that all failed).
But I will have to say that Vaprlife's USB passthrough is the best PT i've ever owned. HIGHLY recommended. Pricey at $80, but worth the money.
