I got a chance to take it apart, and looked like the insulator was in the correct way. Flipping it exacerbated the problem.
Any other ideas?
Interesting, I had the exact opposite thought.
Are you referring to the '510 to device' connection, or internal 'deck base to 510?'

Well Bjorhyn I gather its only going to screw on as far as the metal mound in the middle of the very bottom piece and the connecting screw the air ring goes around allow.
If your using the silicon ring to block the fill hole that adds thickness.

That's the conclusion I had come to as well, and those were the first things I checked.
I'd be less concerned over all if it wasn't my oldest Lemo, and this is the first time this has happened.
I hadn't been using the silicone plug, but that's an excellent thought.
The "connecting base"internal large pin, to the positive (air tube) connection. That's what is keeping the base from tightening up, all the way.
You could try tightening the positive (air tube) and see if that lets the base tighten up some more.
Just don't tighten it too much, or it will lose contact with the base.

I've tightened the post the airflow ring sits on, my first thought was that it had come unscrewed and was pushing out on the base. Also tightened the 510 all the way in with the same concerns.

I'm still having no luck, but as its so far only cosmetic, I'm not terribly inclined to worry about it.
That gap still bugs me, though.
From what i have read you put the bottom part on another top part and it was fine and the top part on another bottom part and it was fine.
Thats puzzling as you would expect an issue with either part to cause the same problem when placed on another tank.
Perhaps something just when this tank is put together. If your able to get it flush albeit with some effort then most likely a thread issue , as like you know once the middle of the bottom part and the air screw meet then its going to stop.

Yes'sir, you read that right.
It pretty much threw me for a loop, not being able to figure out why.
I may end up throwing everything in an ultrasonic at work tomorrow, I'm under the impression there may be something in the threads.
I've examined them, and while they don't seem damaged or crossed, there might be something in them that I wasn't able to get out with standard cleaning. The fact I can stil screw them flush, with a little resistance, leans me towards that more and more.

You could unscrew the 510 pin from the bottom and take out the positive lug in the lower section of the 2 part base. If it screws together without that, it is definitely the threads.

I've been vaping a year on Provari's and Aspire nautilus tanks. Wanting to move up (eliminate buying coils) I've been reading on RBA's for days. I've spent Wwwaaayyy too many hours reading on Kayfun clones!
Although I skipped the middle of this thread, it's obvious the consensus agrees the Lemo is a major hit at a great price.
For a first time RBT could someone suggest which Lemo they recommend and gage kanthal?

The Lemo Drop an regular Lemo only differ in size. I got the drop (smaller capacity) as I didn't want such a tall tank.
As far as wire, I generally run nickel in mine so I can't be much help.

Yes, I always use the "bunny ear" style of wicking. It has always worked well for me. Just re-wicked two of them this morning and they're both working great using 30/70 pg/vg liquids. With it's large liquid channels, the Lemo is pretty forgiving with wicking. Keep the wick tails fluffy, not compacted, and spread evenly across the bottom of the liquid wells.
If building for your Provari, 28ga kanthal would be a good place to start. Build coils using at least a 2mm ID to take advantage of the Lemo's space. My personal preference is for 2.2mm - 2.5mm.
As for as which Lemo to pick? You can't go wrong with either. it's a matter of aesthetics and tank capacity. Functionally, they are identical. Some have said the full size has a better flavor with it's longer chimney. I have both, and to me, they are pretty darn close.
I would suggest some 26 or 28 g Kanthal. I got the best flavour out of this RTA by a simple standard coil with 3mm diameter at about 7 wraps ending up 1ohm. I have had not a single dry hit using this even with high vg juice. Wick it with some japanese cotton bunny style, tug the ends in and free the air holes after juicing it up a bit.

I had tried at least twenty different builds before this from parallel micro/macro to twisted single and dual... none of these fancy builds gave me constant good flavour and juice flow. Vaping the build above at between 24-30 watts on my sigelei 100 and its perfect for me. Long story short... sometimes the simple builds work best even in an RTA.
If your going to be running the lemo on the provari's use 28 or 26 gauge. I also do thing alittle different then most people with the lemo. All my coil are 3-4mm ID, i don't like using the the pads(i love cotton bacon), and i cut my wick's ends much shorter aka to short for bunny ear method, but the lemo is so friendly you can pretty much wick it which ever way you want as long as you don't block the juice channels.
Before anyone can answer your questions, they would need to know your vaping habits (power, juice, mouth hit, lung hit, how often do you have to change coils now, etc.) Most of the info given so far is correct, but some of it may not apply if you vape at 10watts or less.

Using a 50/50 juice, mouth to lung hits, I Vape at 4.4. I refill the 5 ML tank average twice a day and change coils 2 to 3 times a week. IMHO the BVC lose their flavor after 5 (apx) tanks.
I think I'll start with the full size Lemo. Is 28 gauge still the best for me?
I read where someone was getting organic cotton from CVS. Can someone suggest a better place to buy it?
