Hey Willie I wicked it the way you mentioned, and it's wicking great. I usually just trim, put the chimney on, then gently stuff them onto the deck and then prime. I snaked them in opposites along the side of the deck which I usually never do and it's working great. I changed from a 26 to a 28g coil cause the 26 heats up too slow and cools down too slow.

Now that's a beaut! Do you think it can be done with a pin vise? I don't own a cigamajig winder...

I guess if your pin vise can secure a 4-40 screw with the head cut off. The starter leg would come off the coil parallel though. Would have to be bent to perpendicular but would probably be fine.

SXD recently made a vid of it. Search youtube for "cigamajig". Sorry can't post links with my crappy phone. He doesn't use it quite as I intended; he unnecessarily unwraps coils but hey.....it's a vid!

Glad it's working for you.

Still not happy with the last build I tried again. 30awg kanthal with a 4/5 wrap..1.6ohms on with a 3mm ID. MUCH better, especially after closing down the AFC some as suggested. I also followed Willie's wicking advice and that was a great tip, nice consistent vape. I know it's still performing way below it's potential, but it's definitely a good vape now.

Thanks for all the help folks!

For DNA40 temperature protection builds, I've settled on a 30AWG Ni200 build, ~8 spaced wraps around a 1/8" mandrel wicked with KGD. These come in at .21ohms, +/- .01ohm. I've been using these faithfully for the last couple of weeks in my (3) Lemos. I'm mostly flavor chasing, running these around 15-16 watts. TP is set at 400, though I haven't hit it yet at 15-16 watts.

I'm definitely one for trying different builds ... and I've tried many; a good guess would be probably between 25 and 30 different builds. The build described above is fantastic for flavor... if you want clouds, this build also works great; turn up the wattage 20+ and you got it.

As for AFC ... I've completely removed the AFC rings. I don't think they're necessary. If you want clouds, pull hard with higher wattage and you got it. If you want flavor, take a nice controlled slow drag at lower wattages and the flavor is fantastic.

I believe I've found the best of both worlds build for both volume and flavor. This build/Lemo provides both; just a matter of wattage. Even at higher watts, I rarely hit my max of 430F. For flavor, most of my liquids shine between 370 and 400F... and I've also found that viscosity of the liquid is not an issue with the Lemo.

I'm not sure it can get much better than this. I have three Lemos now, and these are my primary devices ... I have not touched my Kayfuns, Genesis-style, or even my magma/GAIA RDAs since I (personally) mastered these Lemos. They have provided a wonderful, adjustable (via the device) range of perfection for both volume and flavor, and when chasing flavor, they're right up with the Magma!

eLeaf has something going here and I hope they recognize it; I'm sure they have with the massive movement of stock (these were difficult to find a few weeks ago!) ... such a simple, yet incredibly versatile atty at a FANTASTIC price ... these things are heavenly.

(slight) disclaimer: I'm not much of an E-Liquid ..... (yet) ... though I did just subscribe to ZampleBox! Anyway, liquids that have been tested in my Lemos so far (that have all been freakin' fantastic): Five Pawns: Gambit, Fifth Rank, Perpetual Check, and *Bowden's Mate; Nicoticket: *The Virus (H1N1), Creme Brûlée, *Wakonda

* = ADVs/Regulars/I have many ml's of these liquids

Couldn't have said it better myself
I pity those that haven't gotten or tried a lemo, wasting money on gimmick over priced attys when the answer is a simple $35 tank made by a company that came out of nowhere as a sub company to Joyetech that was initially designed for the Evic supreme.

Really? They are that good? :)

Sooo--the Big Lemo, the drop, or does it matter? I hate big tanks, but I also want the best performing atty.

They are! I have no experience with the Drop ... just the regular/full size Lemo. I'm not too concerned about size as long as they're not gaudy/HUGE... the Lemo sits on my devices and looks acceptable. The best part about the Lemo for me is that it's a very simple device, and super easy to build. It's not the best looking, but it's not "ugly" ... it's just ... simple. And it works. Which is all that matters to me. :D

Thanks--I'm worried a bit about the 23 mm diameter... I don't like overhangs. I have a ProVari, Sigelei Zmax, MVP2 and iStick. Do I need to buy a VS rDNA box for the Lemo? :D

My tube mods are tapered on top.

Oy....

I use them exclusively on my Protovapor XPV-40 ...

2014-12-14 23.27.03.jpg

PBusardo has a great review of it ... and shows it on a VaporShark rDNA 30 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YIOdQ-60N0

Disclaimer for PBusardo review: Yes, the edges are sharp ... be careful. And his "thumbs down" on the airflow ... just remove it completely. AFC on this device is not necessary, I've found. My airflow is controlled by my mouth/lungs, not by the device, and the device allows this. The way I like it. :D

What's more important to you, flush seamless fit or a great vape?
To me great vape wins every time.
If you truely want a great vape and seamless fit, get a Evic Supreme and run it in hybrid mode.
In short IMO the quality of the vape far out weight aesthetics.

+1 ... If I had one device, and it didn't fit quit flush or didn't sit perfectly on the device, I wouldn't care much. I'm really the only one who sees my device/equipment, and I don't much care about what others think about it. As @WeirdWillie states, vape quality will ALWAYS be #1 for me. :)

This is a very interesting observation. However, it only works one way--to minimize the airflow. You can't get more air from a restricted device like most Kayfuns.

Wrt to the VS DNA30--I figured that I'd rather spend a bit more and get the DNA 40 technology, which is fascinating to me and I really want to try it.

The Lemo definitely doesn't need any "less" airflow, for me... and if I do desire less airflow (usually for more flavor), just lower your draw pressure ... take it easy! :D

As for DNA 40 - do it! OR: Check out Protovapor; great company ... a little higher price than the rDNA, but IMO a bit better quality (I do own a rDNA 30). Otherwise, the rDNA 40 is a great mod at a great price... and that built-in wireless charging almost has me pulling the trigger... the "want" is still outweighing the "need" though for me.
