Sounds like you boys need to go back to rebuilding school :)

Looked like it was vaping great in the vid. Sure, the silica stuffed in the channels would slow juice flow but maybe you could elaborate on why you felt like it was suffering from "excessive" juice flow and your thinking on why the o-ring might have helped.

The chimney base might not have been air tight. I really don't know. The 1 mm silica doesn't completely block the juice channels. Also my juice ratio contains water. That also helps with flow and saturation. I'm glad I got this tank working. :)

When I first built the Lemo. It flooded due to large juice channels with silica.

Curious why you're not in the KGD or CCRayon camps.

Made my first standard coil today. I usually build micro coils and they've performed well in the Lemo, but I wanted to switch it up. Grabbed my 24awg and did I think 7 wraps? Came out to about .9 and vapes like a champ at 25 watts. Nice warm vape, not too hot, but dense as all hell. Building standard coils with 24awg is really easy and I actually used the post holes for the first time and they weren't that difficult to deal with. I'm totally nic buzzing cuz I can't stop hitting this thing now, but it's just so damn delicious!

Couple of things I've found with extended testing of micro vs. spaced coils.

Wicking lasts longer with spaced coils (especially with NETs or other dirty juices)) but they are not as thermally efficient as micros so require slightly higher power levels.

Spaced coils require slightly heavier wicking than micros. Twisted, zipper and claptons winds even heavier yet.

Both spaced and micro coils perform best when tension wound and kept in near perfect symmetry during and after installation. With micros especially, even small deviations in symmetry will negatively effect flavor and power handling capabilty.

Tonight's dual coil build:

View attachment 378894

This one is using 26ga wire, 10 wraps each at 2.2mm. It came in at 0.7Ω and is a bit power hungry, running it at 25-28 Watts. It is cooler then the dual 28ga build, which is what I was hoping for. So far, it's vaping great. :)

Original post.

Guys, I just picked up a Lemo and Lemo Drop a few days ago. Juiced them up with the coil and cotton that came with and started to vape. Awesome vape and flavor after the cotton got broke in.

But, the leaking, especially if laid on it's side, is not too cool. Even my shirt pocket is juice stained. Seem to be OK if kept upright all the time. Is this normal for the Lemo or do I need to do something different with the coil and wick set up, or O rings? Thanks.

I posted this in a different thread (DNA40 builds) but thought it could be useful here as well. Simple way to lengthen the 510 because on the Lemo it is recessed pretty far in.........

Great idea. Got me looking for a simpler solution and came up with this which is a much easier method. If you have an old Pro Tank coil laying around (what I had), anyone wanting to drop the 510, give this a shot.

Here was the 510 before

I pulled the insulator out of the Pro Tank coil
View attachment 403037

Cut it just under the lip (larger side), creating a perfectly sized washer o-ring
View attachment 403039

Put it on the screw

Tightened it down tight and this is the result
View attachment 403042

Same result as the other way but far less fiddling with the o-ring. It works great, good call on the insulator foliagegreen :thumb:

Awesome. Will give this a try when I get home.

Pictures of how you have it wicked will let us give you better advice. Assuming the seals are not a problem, it usually comes down to wicking.

Also, what juice are you running? The juice channels are pretty big, so really thin juice seems to need more wicking material stuffed down, but not totally blocking, the juice wells.
