I get what you are saying Randy. The low pressure created by drawing through the device is present everywhere though. Even through the wick and all the way to the juice channels where it meets the non compressible/non expandable fluid mass. If the wicking was pressed against the juice channels I would be more concerned with air not being able to freely move into the tank to releave the low pressure there. Probably works well for lower wattage apps....not sure if it would hold up to chaining at 35w.....I'm going to try it on my next rewick anyway!

Makes sense. If there is void between the cotton and the base I could see it wicking pretty well, as there would be juice 360 degrees under the cotton. Normal wicking gives me what I need, but an interesting method nonetheless.

Well I would not worry about the vacum letting air through it. I had the same thoughts when i saw how it looked with all the cotton tucked all around. But this has wicked more efficiently then any of my other attempts. And the airbubbles coming up after a puff this time around is larger then any of my other wicking attempts. So it is not acting like a cork not letting anything anywhere. How it works I don't really care about, because that's a puzzle. :p
I've ran two tanks through this thing at 25W so far, and it vapes like a beast.

Received my lemo drop yesterday. Very happy with it so far. No problems with leaking or wicking (coiled and wicked like a kayfun) VTF is really surprising for a $33 RTA. Really like the wide bore of the stock drip tip but it was entirely too tall, so I took it to my redneck lathe and chopped it down.

Yea, nice job on the drip tip. Looked at mine after seeing your picture and it looks weirdly tall now. Anyone know of a good shorter drip tip that would look nice and perform well on Lemo?

Carbon Method makes a couple nice drip tips that sit nice in the Lemo. Just about any 510 tip will work, just make sure it is wide bore if you want to keep the airflow.

Hey! That looks very similar to the "Navy Nest"! Is that where you got your inspiration?

Navy Nest? that sounds like a place we used to hang out and drink just outside the gate of NAS Pensacola.
They say necessity is the mother of invention, I accidentally came across this idea on a camping trip back I August, I was rewicking a coil and realized I brought everything I needed except a pair of scissors, so I laid the excess wick tail across the deck, maid sure the air flow wasnt blocked.
I was amazed at the flavor and wicking I was getting, and the rest is history so to speak.

I must ask this question after reading all the comments about air flow with the Lemo..... Do all Lemo's sound like a carburetor on a lawnmower with the air filter off when you take a pull? That's the best way I can describe the sound -- high speed air entering the venturi. I love the way this device works but I'm wondering if it's me being overly sensitive to the sound or if I am doing something terribly wrong. I'm about ready to try putting cotton "sound suppressors" behind the 4 air holes --lol. I have tried with the air flow control full open and just about all the way closed -- same sound. Maybe this is the standard Lemo sound -- I just want make sure. TIA for replies ......

You'll get used to it, If I didn't hear mine I'd get scared something is about to blow up.:D
One of my Lemos had an anoying whistle to it but after tickeling the air holes with a tourch tip cleaner (tiny files) the whistle went away

LOL...I think it sounds more like a jet engine whine.
Like Willie said, you could try to smooth out the air holes as well as the holes in the positive screw.

I'll dig out my tip cleaners and see what I can do. I know I certainly don't want to enlarge those holes!! I'm very happy with the air flow as it stands.

Jet engine sound makes sense too.....lol. I'll bet if we could get a group of Lemo users in one room we could play some cool music with them.....:toast:

Thanks for the comments -- I appreciated them.
