Straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak: "We are glad you are enjoying the Boba's Bounty and Gorilla juice. However, all of our tobaccos come with a flavoring that contains nicotine. This addition prevents us from producing our tobacco line in 0mg. Only our sweet flavors are available in 0mg."

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/alien-visions-e-juice/179588-0mg-nicotine-juice.html

That is probably why we keep failing at duplicating BB/GJ exactly. It is probably a type of Tobacco extraction maybe added to the juice. You can buy leaf only tobacco (I think it is leaf only .com?) and extract it. Soak it in PG for a month, then sift it through cheese cloths. Some people swear by it as the most realistic possible tobacco flavorings ever. (`cause it is made wth the real thing)

If I can get a few more family members on my juice I'll make an order for a few leaf samples and do an extraction. Such juice would have natural tobacco and a little nicotine to it.

I doubt he is doing the extraction himself, probably buying a Tobacco concentrate from somewhere.

Exactly. I have been following the Alien Vision Sub-Forum for over a year, and I don't recall anything indicating that he does any extraction himself. However, this doesn't mean that he doesn't.

Surely someone has to know about where about to purchase some tobacco flavorings with nic already infused.

i feel like you guys will eventually figure this out... i cant wait for DIG's stuff to arrive.. cant wait to see what he comes up with.

you think it could be a dkang tobacco?

maybe its actual tabacco extracted at the vendors home/lab w/e.... tobacco has nicotine in the plant to begin with. hmmm

and the hunt continues.......

Thanks so much for this thread! :) I've had similar issues to the OP and so glad I came across this. I'm going to try thinning my DIY's with distilled water, pg and everclear and see if that helps the flavors. I have Capellas Choc Fudge Brownie and TPA Double Chocolate Clear and not having much luck with tasting good. So I see that adding other flavors and thinning might be the key! :p
The quest never ends............... . fun yet so frustrating at times!

Alrighty, some more fun with mixing tonight.

I found myself low on some of my favorite recipes, so I mixed some larger batches of my blueberry and black honey vanilla tobacco. Along the way, I decided to be spontaneous and try something zany.

I mixed a bottle of Banana Nut Bread (TFA) 5 drops, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie (Capella) 1 drop - 5ml, 20pg, 12mg.

What was I thinking??? I don't know, but damn if this isn't something great in the making. These two together, they blend better than I could of imagined. On the first puff, it's coming out banana nut bread (which without sweetener, gives it more of a spicy taste), but when I keep puffing on it, that chocolate brownie is coming out more and more. It's not over powered, which is perfect. I am almost thinking of adding another drop of brownie, but I don't want to mess with it quite yet. On that note, I don't want to add sweetener either.

When you start puffing on for a while, the banana and brownie just meld, and it's sweet and spicy and to me, just wonderful. Thus my reasoning for not wanting to add sweetener, I like the spiciness.

I am thinking of going on a search for a tobacco to add to this. If my opinion doesn't change on it, this could potentially be my new all day, every day. Time, and tinkering will tell.

Levi, you might be working on too many projects at once... even though this mix sounds delicious. i should have gotten that fudge...

Heh, no rest for the wicked, my friend.

My projects aren't really focused obsessions, contrary to how it may seem with my posts. Truly, I have been putting very little time into all of this. This is just something I can do to ease my mind from other daily life activities. I want to get some Alien Visions recipes down, but, that is not priority, because I do not have the resources to do so right away.

So, I do what I can, with what I have. And every week or so, I'll pick up a couple of flavors and go from there. The more I do little things like this banana brownie (which I am really starting to like), the more experience I gain and the better I will become at playing the name that recipe game ;)

For real though, if you ever pick up the brownie, you gotta try this out, it's delicious man.

I need another recipe like I need a hole in the head, but this one has me intrigued. Mixing those two combine a lot of ingredients, all of them complimentary and none of them conflicting - bananas, nuts, sweet bread, chocolate fudge, brownie mixture, plus more (and different?) nuts from the CFB. Good lord, my mouth waters just thinking about it. I hope TPA Banana Nut Bread will work instead of TFA because that's what I have on hand.

Thanks for the idea Levitas.

TPA is TFA...TFA, The Flavor Apprentice is a sub listing of TPA, The Perfumer's Apprentice...same thing :)

Heh, I don't really consider it a recipe as of yet, more of a beta test. :)

Here's the thing with this guy, I am thoroughly enjoying it, but I do so by puffing in a certain manner. Instead of the traditional puff, inhale via mouth, and exhale. I puff, inhale through the nasal, puff again (repeat). This isn't really what some would term conventional :D But I guess the point is, I enjoy it most inhaled and exhaled through the nose.

I want to tweak it and make the flavor more prevalent with a simple mouth inhale. I might wait until this bottle is dimished, because I am enjoying it so much. I just hope that this doesn't become a flavor I grow tired of, for me personally, I see real promise with this beta.

Yes, I often exhale through my nose to taste it twice, so to speak :) and it's different than simply exhaling through the mouth !

I really want the flavor to pop more in this blend. I had an extra bottle mixed with a more PG version of my black honey vanilla tobacco, so I decided to play with it. I added 7 drops of banana nut bread, and 2 drops of the brownie this time. The flavor did increase, but the brownie was a tad too powerful. Plus, with all of the flavors together, it was a mess, lol.

I am going to remix sometime soon with double flavor - 10 drops banana nut bread, 2 drops brownie. Also, I am getting some more tobaccos in soon, so I will try to mix this blend with those, if I feel they will mix.

I am hoping that I am building on something beautiful, and as is, I don't mind having to inhale/exhale through the nose, because in doing so, this stuff is great. :)

The TFA choc (clear) IMO is very good alone @ about 10% and and also mixed with 1/2 ML per 30 ml finished joose adds something hard for me to pinpoint but good to my palate YMMV

I don't know if Wizard Labs has this? I couldn't find it, and my next order was placed there. If it's somewhere else, I'll try it next time around. That's my trend, one week at WL, the next week another company (most likely High Desert).

Speaking of, I just put the order in for:

-Acetyl pyrazine
-Commercial tobacco
-Light tobacco
-Double RY4

So! It will be fun to try out some new tobaccos this week. I have that mixture of banana bread and brownie, and I am on the search for a missing element to make it fantabulous.

Also, as is, I doubled the flavor in that blend, and it is great. Still though, the taste is only best when inhaled/exhaled through the nose. I don't know if adding something to the mix will change this, but I've tried it in 3 separate ratios, and thus far the best I've found it 5 parts Banana Nut Bread, 1 part Brownie (doubled, or not).

Will post results of future tobacco blends this week :) Feel free to give me heads up on any of the flavors I purchased. Your opinions on the flavors themselves, mix strength, possibly good flavors to mix. I'm all ears, well, eyes.

Not sure what percentages you are mixing but just wanted to share my experience with Caps CFB. I noticed in lower amounts tasted best. For example when I used around 6-8% I got a nice chocolate and even tasted the walnuts in there. When I raised it to 15% I lost that nutty taste and it was more of a deep chocolate taste. When I get a new flavor I always start low and then vape then adjust. That way I can see for myself how the flavor changes when changing the flavor level.

Not sure what tobaccos you are using but I think Desert Ship or DKTab might be more ideal. Just because those flavor are sweet themselves and compliments other sweet type of flavors as well. What are you looking for in a tobacco might help with giving ideas as well. I been experimenting with a lot of FA tobaccos and I am enjoying them very much lately.

To be honest, I don't really know for sure what it is I want. Since I've only DIY'ed with two thus far, it's hard to really say what I'd want. Thus my reasoning for ordering more to try, and more there on out, every week, so that I can make such decisions based off of my experiences :)

Don't get me wrong, I truly appreciate the input by those experienced, such as yourself, and in fact, I encourage it. I have had the desert ship before, though I didn't mix it myself, and I wasn't really a fan. I guess that could change if I mixed it myself, but, you can see my hesitance :D As for the DKtab, I have been curious about this flavor. I haven't really branched out to too many vendors (flavorings) other than Wizard Labs, and High Desert. I don't want to overload myself, heh.

Thanks for the heads up.
