I will include translation into the Scriptures. If I don't make any sense, just say so. :)

Verse 6 says that there is a restrainer, keeping the appearance of the anti-christ at bay. All true Christians have the Holy Spirit within us. What is keeping the tribulation from starting? Us. How? By prayer and taking the power from the enemy through prayer, doing what God wants us to do, and by rebuking the satanic/demonic influence. Scripture states that in 'Jesus Name satan has to flee.' When you have the world's Christians praying for souls, the solving of problems within our world, all hell cannot break loose because we are more powerful than they are. If we are removed, satan has cart blanche. That's when he can make his move and have his representative....his son, rise up with answers to the 'world's problems.'

Verse 7 says that the mystery of lawlessness is apparent all over the world. All you have to do is turn on your tv or read a newspaper. That only He (and the h was capitalized in Scripture) who is restraining, holding back, etc. will continue to restrain and hold back until He is taken out of the picture. This time in history will only be known by Almighty God the Father. Even Jesus said when He walked the earth that He didn't know the day or hour. Once He is taken out of the way, satan will push the anti-christ into the spotlight. Now, the Holy Spirit dwells within us. The Holy Spirit goes anywhere He wants, but Jesus' kids, who are saved by Grace, again have the Holy Spirit within us. He teaches, comforts, helps us pray to Almighty God, like Jesus did when He walked the earth. Now, how do you get the Holy Spirit who dwells in us out of the picture? He takes us out of the way....the rapture.

Verse 8 says that 'then the lawless one' (anti-christ), will be revealed. We won't know who he is, unless the Lord allows us to see. I hope not. But he will rise out of the Old Roman Empire. He could be an Arab since Jesus is Jewish. Jesus, when He comes back on a white horse will destroy with His breath. That's when He throws the anti-christ and the false prophet into the lake of fire....alive. Rev. 19: 20 - Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. The two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Man, I can almost hear their screams now.)

Hopefully that helped. I prayed before I posted. You may think I'm a crack pot!

Of course you're not a crack pot! LOL!! Many people believe as you do, I think most christians believe in the pre-tribulation rapture. But, take a look at this.

Luke 17:20-37

[20] Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, [21] nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

[22] Then he said to his disciples, "The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. [23] Men will tell you, 'There he is!' or 'Here he is!' Do not go running off after them. [24] For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. [25] But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

[26] "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. [27] People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

[28] "It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. [29] But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

[30] "It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. [31] On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. [32] Remember Lot's wife! [33] Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. [34] I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. [35] Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."

I look at these verses and, to me, it means that the righteous will be taken right before Armageddon, the destruction of this system. I just don't see any scriptures that show that we will be taken before the tribulation begins. I"ve love to be proven wrong, I don't enjoy the thought of having to live through the tribulation, but I really believe that we will have to endure it.

Matt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

"I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years" (Rev. 20:4-6).

"He was given power to make war against THE SAINTS and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast -- all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. He who has an ear, let him hear. If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of THE SAINTS" (Rev. 13:7-10).

"They overcame him [the devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death" (Rev. 12:11)

Clearly, these verses show that there will be many christians alive during the tribulation, and they will be rescued right before the end, just like it was in the days of noah, God sealed up the ark and then the end came. I think it's going to come down the same way, unfortunately, we will have to live through it and many of us will be killed.

I do participate in alot of online christian forums, and the majority of people believe in the pre-tribulation rapture. Nothing wrong with believing that, but what if it doesn't' happen? I worry about the faith of my brothers and sisters who believe it 100%. Will their faith be weakened if it doesn't come down that way? Will they be spiritually, emotionally and physically prepared for what they will have to endure if the rapture does not come till the end? I do think about these things, and I do think that alot of christians will fall away if things don't pan out like they are planning on. I always think on planning for the worst and hoping for the best.

...how do you get the Holy Spirit who dwells in us out of the picture? He takes us out of the way....the rapture...

I understand what you're saying. You explained it very well. Can I ask something, though? When is the end of time?
“...remember that I am always with you until the end of time.” Mt 28:20 (GW)

trukinlady: Good point, Mt 24:22! Why would time need to be shortened to save the elect if they're in heaven?

LisaLisa: I agree. Wether 'mid' or 'post', believers will be going through a tribulation. Here's the only good thing in that:
"...I will never leave you nor forsake you." Heb 13:5 (NKJV)

I'm not all that knowledgeable about all this, but have you ever thought much about the cards just about every store has now? I fought so hard to not get one at my grocery stores, but I finally gave in. They basically have a record of everything you consume, what you buy at the drug store, Best Buy, etc. I realize that part of it is good in the sense that the little coupons that print off at the grocery store can be customized (for dog food, for instance, if you do buy dog food), but just think about it. If you combine this with your CC statements, they know everything about you. I can see just a hop from this in order to control what or if you're able to buy and sell. The "mark" could simply be the bar code on your grocery store "savings" card that would mean whether your bread costs $2 or $20. I don't like it.

Okay......I'm glad that we all agree that we're gonna get outta here one way or the other. One more thing I'd like to bring up that you may/may not be aware of. Do you know of the customs of getting married back then? It was a Jewish tradition. I'm just asking before I type....saving myself some typing! I don't want to get all into everything and ya'll say...."Yep, we already knew that!"

The mark may or may not be literal, but It will be a clear choice between following God or forsaking him as your father. None of these chips, cards, or tattoos meet this criteria yet. Do not fear for God is your lord and Jesus is your savior. Just follow in his footsteps, and keep his will in your heart and you'll be fine. Working yourself up into a fear induced fury is not what he would want, give him your fears and your burdens, as this is his request.

Well, I can't speak for anyone other then myself, but for me it's not about fear or fury, there is actually no fear involved at all. As a christian, it's my own personal duty to stay informed, to learn and to study. The bible says that many christians will be "deceived" in the last days. Deceived means "tricked into believing something that isn't true". My goal is to stay informed, study, pray and learn, so that I am not one of those who satan manages to deceive.

Many people who are not prepared, who are unaware, who do not know better, have not studied, will be deceived. The bible tells us that this is so. We were given a written outline of what is going to happen so that we can study it and apply it in our own lives so when we see these things happening, we will recognize them for what they really are. Without this knowledge, many will fall away or be deceived.

Only in this generation has technology increased as it has, Israel a nation, etc, etc that goes along with biblical prophecy, the way people are morally nastier and out in the open about it than ever before, and the mark comes out to show loyalty to the anti-christ when he arrives so that noone can buy, sell, or even work a job without it . This would be considered the time of sorrows before tribulation begins and there is no time frame given for how long it last in the bible but the birth pains of it have began and will only get worse. Look up Martial law,Fema prison camps and coffins, poison in the food and vaccinations we get or the Alex Jones show on you tube, all proven stuff that you will be able to look up and see for yourself not just my opinions... definately a eye opener for what is to come and what the government is up to, and how we are sheep blindly being led to the slaughter house by them

I myself believe in post because scripture says that we would be persecuted and killed, also the whole while in the field one taken and one left is at the end, those who are not right will be left to suffer the final destruction. With the last trumpet Jesus would be coming in the clouds ad the dead in christ shall rise first, and then in the twinkling of an eye we who are here would be changed and meet him in the air. AT THE LAST TRUMPET....but it's not worth any arguments the main thing is that or hearts are right with him....not a religion but a true relationship. the watchman's cry is a great biblical site to check out

Amen to that! I believe the same thing. :)

Well said!

Before Jesus lived on earth, Jews thought Alexander the Great was the anti-christ. Early Christians thought Nero was. Since the reformation, the Pope has been a favorite choice for many. Hitler, a big computer in Luxemberg, Lord Rothschild, Mikhael Gorbachev, Spanish King Juan Carlos II, Yassar Arafat, Osama Bin Laden...the list goes on.

It's kinda' funny, because my own pick for who would be the anti-christ has changed many times during the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's & 2000's!

I've finally concluded that whatever our guesses are about the end times, we just won't know until we're supposed to. It's fun to discuss, though.

Ok, to get down to brass tacks, just for the sake of discussion. Let's say Christians will go through the Tribulation. We Christians would need to have the capability of surviving for the 7 years of the Tribulation. We would have to be stockpiling food, supplies, medicines, etc. Enough to last for 7 years, because we won't accept the mark of the beast to buy what is needed to survive. There would also have to be a safe haven for us to live for 7 years. One that wouldn't be noticed by evil authorities. So how do we prepare for that? I'm interested in hearing opinions. Anyone?

Well, I don't think it will be for the entire 7 years, I think it will be just the last year or two. I'm a "mild prepper" as I call it. I really don't know if this is the right way to think or not, I struggle with it all of the time. On one hand I think that God warned us, so that we can and should prepare. On the other hand God provided manna for the israelites, so who knows what is the right thing to do? I just don't know.

But, I still prepare in small simple ways. I relocated to the mountains and bought a small house with a metal roof on 1 acre in the woods that has a wood burning fireplace in the living room that is a great source of heat and cooking. This house did not have a dishwasher or microwave, I didn't put them in for a reason. I wanted to get used to living without them to see how it went. So far, I actually like not having those things. I have a dish drainer on the counter and I cook all of our food on or in the stove.

I also plan on buying a wood stove in the future and storing it in the shed in case I ever need it. I have about a year's worth of firewood stored already, and I've purchased some very basic survival gear. I bought 2 magnesium fire starter rods, a good axe, cast iron cookware, a solar and crank powered radio, other solar powered items, fire extinguishers, some good hunting knives, guns & ammo, gardening tools, books on what plants in the area are ok to eat, and alot of first aid supplies and medicine. That's as far as I've gotten so far.

This spring I plan on starting a garden and learning how to grow food, and I've located a fresh water source less then 1 mile away from my house. I have no idea if I will ever need these things, but I have them in case I do need them so that I can provide for my family. I can't provide everything, but I'm doing all that I can do and then I will just pray that Jesus do the rest.

I know that this isn't possible for most people to do, moving up to the mountains like I did, but you can do other things like storing up on basic first aid and survival gear.

Even if the tribulation does not come in our lifetime (i think it will), it's still good to be prepared because other things do happen.

I think we are always to be ready and watch.
Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

1Co 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2Pe 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. .

God through His word has spoken to many generations before us and Christ has come for those who have went before us. Many have already gone through great tribulations and the testing of their faith.
Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

You knew you'd hear from me eventually on this one. I find the arguments for a pre-trib rapture to be sound and logical. Of course, seeing that pre-trib is what I would prefer, my interpretation of the arguments could be biased.

As to the question of "are we living in the end times?" - there have been several telling points posted here already. I have mentioned Jack Van Impe before. He shows current news articles and relates them to prophecies in the Bible. People have been claiming "this is the end times" since pretty much the beginning of time, but only in our generation have certain requirements been fulfilled. Israel becoming a state is a major one. Technology growing to a point that many other prophecised events are possible - currency, instant communication around the globe, etc.

Perry Stone is another preacher I have learned a lot from. He explains ancient Jewish traditions/ teachings. Their whole calendar is a blueprint for the history of the world, from creation to the end of time. The feasts, the holidays, the rituals all have symbolic meaning and teach us God's plan. As mentioned earlier, the Jewish wedding ritual is a picture of Christ and his church. He even calls us his bride.

The mark of the beast/ microchip topic...... I read this article years ago, and it was scary then. One generation is all they need - thestar.com This was written years before everyone had teeny tiny computers, an iPod attached to their ear, a Garmin in their cars, direct deposit and billpay, cashless purchases for everything, cards at every store, gym, club, etc. You add in the proposed federal medical plan with consolidated medical records for everyone available in a central data bank, and it gets way scary. Look how far we have come technologically in the past few decades. Our parents were impressed with a pocket calculator or a digital watch or basic, 12 channel, cable tv. Our political climate has become a mindset of "us versus them" that is close to the sentiments of the French revolution. "Us" needs a way to keep tabs on "them" and keep them in check - marking them in some way.

The way he lays it out in the article - I can so see it happening, especially with everything else I see. People would call me crazy for believing it. Read the news today about the "cult members" who went missing. They were a crazy cult because they believed in the rapture. Reading the comments on Yahoo was horrible. We are all aware of the hatred and dismissiveness non-believers have towards Christians. When the rapture happens, I think they will be happy to see us gone.

Be well,
~A

Do you remember the story of the ant and the grasshopper? Don't be a grasshopper as you'll be left out in the cold to die.

God gave us a logical side of our mind. These are the things you'd need to survive, that is if you are off the grid. How long would you be able to hide?It will be worse than Nazi Germany finding all the Jews....Judan, they were called by the Germans.....pronounced U'dan. You think the SS was brutal? They were boy scouts in comparison. Especially since there is so many electronic devices that has gps. You might be able to hide in your home for awhile....depending on if you owe a mortgage. You won't want to use electricity because they'll know that you're there. Same with the water and garbage. How will you use the bathroom? Clean up? Keep your clothes clean? What about the garbage? What about your medication that you need? What if someone finds you and wants your food and will kill you for it. Are you ready to defend the food for your family? Have you thought this through? It's never too late to start. AND, even if we're raptured out of here before you need it, it might help some others. :)
