My rant:
....

Sniff. Sniff. NEVER AGAIN!! They can all find their own way from now on. I did.
so now you have learned... you do not loan your equipment out. You give it away even if you did not mean to. :) Hope you do get something back though.

The truth is, I think, that most ppl begin vaping just to get off cigs & they don't want (or need) anything complicated. For most of em a cig-alike w/the replacement cartridges might actually be the best solution.

...but my point is that a majority of vapers will never aspire to get a Provari w/a Zen rba on it. They just want something as simple & reliable as the cigarettes are that they're trying to beat. For those ppl a clearomizer on an ego battery may be on the outside limits of what they think they should have to dp to vape.
I have many e-pipes because I was a pipe smoker. but people at work always thought I was still smoking a pipe! So now I vape on an eGo Twist and have converted 5 people in 2 months.

I recently got my daughter a kGo kit & she seems rather indifferent to using it. I do believe that a PV will help in most cases, but a person has still gotta WANT to quit smoking.
PRICE!! always compare the cost savings to someone and they will start getting interested! :)

I couldn't take it. I just got back from his house. Gave him back his $30 and got my gear back.

Here, here, poor Twist, daddy missed you -- ooh, ooh, you're shaking... It's ok, Twist, it's ok.
Glad you got your stuff back. You could always try again by physically TAKING him to the B&M and see if he wants anything there.

I remember you posting this a little while back. Priceless. I should've bookmarked it then. I did now! It is exactly how it works, isn't it! Where/when/how did you find this, and do you know who did it?
No idea who made it. I first saw it here on ECF when someone else posted it I think. I must have spent 20 minutes trying to find it on YouTube, but couldn't recall the title. I put in all kinds of searches for "e-cig animation cartoon" or the like, and got nothing. I finally found it with a Google search, but I have no idea how I got there. But I was persistant, because the video is perfect for your thread.

If you click on the YouTube tab in the lower right corner, it will take you to the YouTube website where you can read viewer comments. One of them says, "if she were on ecf they would have been screaming JUST GET A PROVARI before she could open her mouth."

Will the bashing never end?

I gave a set up to my friend to show her husband. I got it all back because he didn't like the throat hit. He chews. I figure he as point. So I didn't pursue it even though everybody coughs on their first vape hit just about....don't they? Well, I didn't but I've read it a lot here. I think I depends. My daughter didn't want to to trade one addiction or another. She quit a few years back gained and recently started and found myself telling her I'd send some eRoll stuff if she was having trouble. I did not push it at all after she said that because she's thinking right, for her. We'll see next year if she's still quit. Her life path is scarey like mine sometimes. I started quitting in 20s....and other stuff.

I recently sold my Twist to a coworker who was interested in e-cigs. I sold him my 1000 mah Twist, my Joyetech charger, a Kanger T3, and a 510-to-ego adapter for $30. Not to mention a full tank of juice. I thought I was paying it forward.

Since I sold it to him, he's complained non-stop. It won't hit right. So I did my best to explain Ohms, resistance, and voltages. It went right in one ear and out the other. The Kanger T3 is 2.5 ohms, so I said (over the phone tonight) put the Twist at the 4.0-4.2 range, and he asked, "What the blank does that mean?" And I explained to him that the Twist allows you to change your voltage to match your Ohm resistance for a better vape (I explained all of this to him when I first sold it to him, but obviously he wasn't paying attention). "Look at the dial on the bottom, it has hash marks, where is it set at?" (It was set at 3.8 +/- when I sold it to him). He said there were no marks (I knew this obviously to be untrue, they were there), and when he looked he said, "Oooh! Yeah, they're there!" But he had it twisted it to 4.8 volts. No wonder his tank wasn't firing correctly.

And then he said it wasn't charging. I asked him if he removed the 510 to ego adapter before charging, and he said yes. Thumbs up. Then I asked him if the charging light was red with flashes of green. He said, no, it stays red, it's still a piece of blank. Then I asked him if he screwed it into the charger, and he asked, "You have to screw it in?"

/Facepalm.

I've helped a bunch of vapers since I first started myself, but I've also encountered people who abuse their devices, bang 'em up, crank them to the max, and mismatch their delivery systems. I blame it on them not having a proper mentor, and also, they possess a mentality that just doesn't want to FULLY understand vaping and how it works. They want a thingy, they want to press a button, and they want it to work every single time. I do my best to let all of the noobs I talk to realize that there is a huge learning curve to vaping, and it will take effort on their part to figure out the details. But rarely do these certain types ever do it.

I'll never withhold advice from someone potentially looking into vaping, but I will no longer support someone who is just plain lazy and won't do a little bit of research and homework themselves. I know it's probably too much to ask, but I'm done with people who get ...... at me for selling them "blank-rigged junk."

It's not blank-rigged junk, it's user error. Learn from your mistakes and try to expand your brain a little.

Ok, rant over.

lol 4.8 I'm surprised he wasn't complaining about a burnt taste xD

Yep. I had my most recent convert call me since my first post on this thread. He bought the square starter kit vapormax is making now...I don't know or care what they call it. I told him in the store, "I have never used that one, so I cannot vouch for it". I repeated this at least twice for clarity. So he starts off:

(I have replaced this guys name with Fool Noob)
Fool Noob: This thing you told me to buy won't work.
Edd: I told you I could not vouch for it, you bought it, I just showed you the store.
Fool Noob: (as if I did not speak) Well the battery won't make the top thing make enough vapor! It started out fine, but now it is not making enough!
Edd: Is it flooded? Have you removed the atomizer, err...the top thing, and blown it out after you pour the juice in out?
Fool Noob: Won't that waste the juice?
Edd: Only if you pour it down a drain. You should have some sort of small container to put it in, then you could put it back.
Fool Noob: Well the battery is all covered in juice...and when I took the tip off the top thing, the round thing in the top thing is wiggly....
Edd: Ugh. Remove the top thing from the battery, remove the tip thing off of the top thing, get the juice out of the top thing, remove the round thing in the top thing, blow out the top thing completely, remove excess juice from battery with paper towel and Q-tip, remove excess juice from top thing on its bottom part with same, firmly screw (not like a gorilla, just firmly) screw the round thing in the top thing so it is no longer wiggly, replace juice, put tip thing back on top thing, put back on battery.
Fool Noob: (after several minutes)- Hey it works fine now. Why didn't you tell me to do this at first?
Edd: What, flood it so I could walk you through the remedy?
Fool Noob: Yeah, this was a real problem, you should have told me about it!
Edd: Yeah, that is what I should have done. Who do you think I called when this happened to me when I started? I had to just figure it out. You forgot to thank me.
Fool Noob: I never thought of that...
Edd: You could have stopped on the third word. See you tomorrow at the office, fool noob.

rofl the top thing

Omg, I'm sorry you had that from the person. I've only been vaping for a few weeks, and in an effort not to be a total dufus, I try to google stuff, read on here, and read the instructions for my mod the factory sent with it (a 1st for me). I can't tell you how much e-juice I've wasted, and how many cartos I've either clogged, burned up, etc. Like anything, there's an initial expense and learning curve, but I think I'm getting it. Some folks just want you do to everything for them, including vape it for them.

Reminds me of when I sold my iMac to my Uncle who is 70+ years old and had never owned a Mac before. The words of doom were "Call me if you have any questions." Poor guy. At least now he loves it.

This is just like when I learned not to root my friends' android phones. From that point on, any one of the thousand little phone quirks was all my fault. Or like when my mom calls with her weekly computer problem, doesn't matter how many times I tell her Windows is not her browser, or her tower is not a hard drive, she will never get it. Now I know better than to guide anyone into a learning curve, I'm not a teacher.

I just watched like fifteen rap battles of history and now I am thinking there's a verse to be made with the title of this thread.

The Mashers, the crank it ups
the noobs who won't understand
I've a long barrel on my mod and my juice bottle in my other hand
Dumping your savings into getting a blu
Then ask me if it's better if you switch to V2
Fool. The good stuff doesn't look like an analog
Take it from me, i've got my own cloud of fog,
weatherman thinks it's smog while you're getting ripped at the mall.

You cry it ain't working while your nic's too low
So opposed to a button so you can't work an ego
There goes your kid's college fund while you're buying carts by the box
I'm rolling my eyes while vaping at ten watts
Ain't got time to listen to your whining
I've got a genny and telescope that needs shining.

*bows*
