Hey BenJ, I thought you quit vaping?

Yup I did IA. I still pester the masses here on ECF though from time to time :p

I'm surprised you didn't throw in the hybrid w/ the genisis atty into this thread :2cool: I know you have to be committed to make it work, but from what I read from jensb and others it's a serious performer.

Wow, another Darwin thread? Oh boy. I might give the Darwin another chance if, 1, it wasn't so damn ugly, and 2, it didn't have the side mounted atomizer connection. The integrated battery is another part I'm not fond of, but I can live with it.

Right now, the ProVari is tops in my book. It is versatile, flexible and has a great look. The new colored version will be even nicer.

The Eclipse has a lot of promise. I just hope it lives up to the hype. If the feed system really works with the mini piezoelectric pump and all of the other features promised deliver in a sleek package, that will certainly be a contender for title of "most badass".

The Darwin, IMO, falls far short of that mark.

The main point about the Darwin that so many seem to miss is that it senses the resistence of the atty and automatically adjusts the wattage to provide the the ultimate in consistent vaping. If you haven't vaped on one for hours, there is no way you could realize the significance of this difference. To my knowledge, no other PV is capable of doing this. I don't think you can overstate the significance of this advantage and the consistency it brings to the vaping experience. All the other VV's depend on the user to "guess" what the setting should be and then manually change the settings (another guess) when the atty's resistence changes.

I really like the look of the Darwin. Should call it Medi-Vap and put a big sticker on the back. When some anti-smoking zealot gets in my face asking what I'm doing, I can act like I'm having trouble breathing, show the sticker, wheeze while I say Medi-Vap. Then take a big hit of vapor and start breathing and talking normal again. I can so picture it!

I really like my eGo tank and wish the arm suck out far enough on the Darwin(Medi-Vap) for it fold with a tank or Mega atty on it.

Just saw the Eclipse info because of this thread. That list of features looks like nirvana I'm going to have to keep watching the developments there!

I like the Hybrid insofar as that you build your own PV from scratch. That is a cool and personal thing. But the Hybrid isn't VV and is missing a lot of features that I want. If pailpoe ever finishes his work and gets ULRA kits out to us, that will be a different story.

How do you adjust the power with the precious and how do you know how much you adjusted it? I forgot the precious was variable power.

Tapping the touch sensitive so many times while looking at the small led indicator! More details hopefully very soon.

Actually, it really isn't as significant as evolv would have us believe. Check your resistance before vaping, while vaping and then over a period of time. Notice much of a change? Nope! The resistance will increase over time but not by much. I can adjust to it on my ProVari with a quick calculation.

Darwin is the only one doing it now, but it is a feature in the Eclipse.

As for the Precious, I'll believe it when I see it. Don't count on anything Caesar has said as being true until someone actually gets one.

LOL, I agree! I think it is comical that some are concerned about the "look" of the Darwin. I suspect that all of us talking about VV PV's have a larger (mod) PV. I remember when the only larger model PV was the Screwdriver and there were all of these comments about not being "caught dead" vaping on something that looks like a power tool. Now look at the PV's like the GG with the ATS(?) attachment and the extended battery cap that so many rave about - they really do look like small power tools or personal pleasure devices. Or the larger box mods. Or the REO box mod which one could compare to vaping on a music box. (I personally think they look very nice) Or the FistPack which is "huge" IMO and looks like a personal protection device.

Yet we all pretty much accept these "new" form PV's because they improved the vaping experience in one way or another. Once more people have the Darwin and enjoy the advantages it brings to vaping, the form factor will become second nature for most.

We actually joked at the Atlanta Vape Fest that using one walking through the airport, if you got some strange looks, you could put it to your ear and pretend to be talking on your cell phone. I think it has a "Star Trek" look to it myself. If they can just figure out a way to include a laser beam in it for personal protection in case you run into any "anti's".

You made my point. I don't want to be doing any "calculations" while I am vaping or pushing a button 4, 5, 6 times to get to the correct menu and manually make a change.

I can't verfiy this, but others who have used it much longer are stating that attys they felt were too far gone to continue to use, are vaping well, on the Darwin. If that is true, that would be a real plus, also. With the inconsistencies of even new attys (as I have found by using my multimeter) I like that the Darwin does the adjustments for me.

Thank you :)
It must have been a combination of a long days work, the background music, and the lack of talking, but I started to fall asleep

Hope you get your new L v2 soon.

5 Lucky very patient people were invoiced and paid yesterday! This will be a very rare Mod to own. They as you know will not be mass produced

Yep, I've had my pre-order for a nice long time. I don't believe that I'll ever actually get invoiced for it though. I don't trust him at all to make good on it. Just look at the finish options that are now out of the question.

Resistance will actually drop over time. You would think it would increase, but it's not the case. At least, all of my used atomizers are lower resistance than when they were new.

Well, I've only got one high end PV (so far), but I'm enjoying it a lot. And, I don't think it has been mentioned yet in this thread.

I've got an eye on the Eclipse, ProVari and the Darwin. The Phidias is a beauty ... but, maybe not too practical in my circumstances.
Don't you wish you could just buy a couple of each?

Well, I have two custom Phidias (my third is on order) and my ProVari. I've got a pre-order for the Lv2 for whatever that's worth and I'm on the Eclipse wait-list. I'm also planning on getting a colored ProVari as soon as they hit the market.

I wish jcamacho would list all of his PVs and post some pictures. That's a guy who has EVERYTHING!

I have a hard time beliving anyone has a bigger mod collection than Col. Gaunt. Check out the album in his profile. It makes my jaw drop every time.

View Profile: Col. Gaunt - E-Cigarette Forum

You beat me to it I was just going to post his album too. I saw a vid where he lays out one of his mod holder case thingys. It reminds of when Dexter rolls out his bag of knives. Not saying that col. is a psychopath or anything :p

Wish I could go to the WCV meet and see his collection up close.
