You beat me to it I was just going to post his album too. I saw a vid where he lays out one of his mod holder case thingys. It reminds of when Dexter rolls out his bag of knives. Not saying that col. is a psychopath or anything :p

Wish I could go to the WCV meet and see his collection up close.

If I had his collection, I'd have to quit vaping... because I would spend all day just staring and trying to figure out which mod to use.

I have a hard time beliving anyone has a bigger mod collection than Col. Gaunt. Check out the album in his profile. It makes my jaw drop every time.

I agree that he has some SERIOUS quantity. But did anyone hang on to that many 510's or eGo's when they started getting into mods? It is an epic collection for sure.

With Mr. Camacho, it seems like he is the first one to pre-order any new mod that comes out. I see that guy in every thread. Hell, he even has a custom Phidias for every day of the week!!

I'd love to see a pic of his collection.

ummm......

People don't always get my sarcasm. It was supposed to be a joke.

That's the Colonel's. We're looking for pics of jcamacho's collection.

Oops....my reading comprehension isn't what it used to be. If jcamacho's collection is bigger than the Colonel's, that's one picture that I'd wanna see too!

The main point about the Darwin that so many seem to miss is that it senses the resistence of the atty and automatically adjusts the wattage to provide the the ultimate in consistent vaping.
How much does an atomizer resistance really vary from day to day, let alone hour to hour?
I would think this is almost a useless feature, but perhaps I am missing something.

And even if there were some sort of appreciable difference in atomizer resistance...
Well that thing is ....-ugly.

I mean, really, in a few weeks someone will have a much better looking one anyway.

Yet we all pretty much accept these "new" form PV's because they improved the vaping experience in one way or another. Once more people have the Darwin and enjoy the advantages it brings to vaping, the form factor will become second nature for most.
We all?

We all is a small fraction of the vaping community pursuing the perfect vaping experience without regard to form factor.
Or anything else for that matter.

To think you guys on this thread are representative of the vaping community at large is absurd, to be perfectly honest.

If you had tried the Darwin, you would think differently. As far as what is on the market, today, the Darwin is technologically a significant upgrade to all the others. There is no other PV that senses the changes in the atomizer and then "automatically" adjusts to those changes as you vape it. You can't find that level of consistency.
I second this. That feature alone makes it well worth the money.

Harsh, but sadly, it's true.

That said, it is like my love for building custom gaming laptops and PCs. My work isn't going to be in everyone's house, but they are infinitely better than what most people have.

Not denying that, but to argue that form factor doesn't matter when the Darwin is ....-ugly just busts my balls.
When I said in two weeks there would be a better looking model that does the same may have been a bit optimistic though.

So maybe in a month.

I bet you that if we did a blind "taste test" with a Darwin and a ProVari set to the same level (Ohm's Law) people wouldn't know the difference. Aside from that, the integrated battery, ugly form and crazy swivel atty mount makes it absolutely not worth the money.

Yep, I've had my pre-order for a nice long time. I don't believe that I'll ever actually get invoiced for it though. I don't trust him at all to make good on it. Just look at the finish options that are now out of the question.

I agree is has been a bumpy ride for the LV2! Another guy as i'm sure you know runs the show now. And for 209$ shipped i'll take my chances.Hope you get invoiced as well.

It varies quite a bit if you actually know how to measure it. And I have vaped more than most and know the difference between a new atty and one that is weakening. If I can have a PV that keeps that new atty feel hour after hour after day after day consistently, it is well worth it, IMO. But better results aren't for everyone so you should stick with what you have.

So you're saying it goes up and down?

In the course of one hour?
In the course of one day?

Because if it does, my understanding of atomizer physics is severely lacking, and I need some schooling.
I'd be happy to have such schooling, though, if I'm as clueless as it seems I am.

Absolutely not worth the money to you. Fortunately people have different budgets. More than worth it to me, thank you very much.

Sorry, you're wrong. It is simply a matter of math an physics. Look at my post history, especially in the original Darwin threads. I know how to measure it. The resistance increases slightly thus affecting the voltage required to keep the draw consistent. It is not a big swing when you're only measuring to the hundredth place. Do the math. Write down your resistance changes as you vape. It is right there for you. Check the voltage variations required to keep the wattage consistent to the hundredth place. It is not what you think.

Who said anything about budgets? Should we talk about penis size next? Money isn't the issue, spending it on a device that is ugly and isn't as sophisticated as many believe it to be, is.
