I soaked them with everclear.
It's beginning to sound like there is some primer or some other stuff in there. As a matter of course I always clean clearo's and CE3's before use even if they are supposed to have no primer in them.

You never know how the inner components were washed before assembly.

I know I saw someone ask about wicking somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find which thread it was in. If anyone is interested, I'm using HHV Heavenly tobacco (RY4) @ 100% VG. HHV VG seems to be a tad thinner than VapeDudes VG, but a great deal thicker than Volt Liquid mix (not sure what ratio they use?). Those are the only 3 brands I've used so can't make any better/broader comparisons. So far I've had no trouble at all and it is putting out good vapor volume. After I had the leak I emptied my juice, cleaned the threads, blew out the center post, re-capped it empty, and let it sit. Just re-filled it about 20 min ago and so far so good...

Soaking anything in booze sounds like alchohal abuse to me personally. I bet if you soaked your car in everclear, it would strip it down to the bare metal though.

That may be the trick is just washing out. Super hot water did it for me but we are going to try number II here in a bit.

Also, for those with leaks.....I noticed that there are two silicone washers on these....one above the threads and it looked like one on the top of the post......don't know if that is an issue but the ones on my clearo come off when I say the word "sneeze"

got my nano's today. so far, so good. still breaking them in.

I use mostly thicker, 50 to 100% VG juices lately & it's working well. better than CE3 in that respect so far.

speaking of juice, any Canadians in the house? do yourself a favor & try jugheads.co juice. they can't ship to the states anymore, much to my dismay, but it is great JOOSE!

I got some water boiling in my microwave, pulled it out and dropped my Nano in it for about 30 minutes. Let it dry out for a bit, juiced it up and the burnt taste finally seems to be gone. Hopefully for good this time.

This morning I'm Vaping some 100% VG Hazelnut Cappuccino (DIY) and it's as thick as molasses but working just fine. Boy you can really get the Vapor going with 100% VG, I have a cloud all around me and the Dog is giving me the tilted head stare. No more leaks? I think it has something to do with the wick being dry or who knows. It works great and I am happy with them.

I figured I would throw up an update................mainly because people who haven't ordered or got their Nanos yet could be freaking out (I was).

I decided to pull a second one out last night and I washed it out with really hot water from the tap (a few times actually). Once I washed it out, I shook it out on a napkin and added juice and vaped it until it produced. No burnt taste and everything (so far) is working fine. The first one got a refill after the same hot water rinse (the one with the horrible taste) and a different juice and half way though, I added more. Both are operating as advertised.

It doesnt produce as much vapor, the flavor is still a slight bit muted as compared to the CE3 and the pull is harder. I am really nervous about the leaking and I did have a very tiny, tiny drop on the table I set one of them on last night but nothing major and no leaking empty. What I did do is put them in a zip lock in my semi-hard carrying case as a precaution.

I found myself still using the syringe to fill these though (it is easier and quicker). It holds 1ml and putting more in it would put it really close to the top of the plastic tube so I didnt risk it. The needle top bottles would come in handy right now so I may go on a search...........I am going to vote now.

Well I said I wouldn't post here because of my bad experiences with the Nano (Nono) and not wanting to be negative, but I am posting anyway. I really want these to work for me and I'm still trying to get the first two working. I did wash them with hot water multiple times and while there was some improvement, the taste was so bad I couldn't use them. They have been sitting full of liquids, one SI RY4, 12mg, and one DIY RY4, 12mg, ever since. Every so often during the day I keep trying them again, hoping for better results. This morning, the one with SI RY4 no longer tasted terrible, it just didn't taste much at all. The DIY one still had that awful taste. Some progress, but an awful long time to make it. Now they are sitting in vodka for the rest of the day. When I take them out I plan on using a syringe with a 1.5" needle to shoot some vodka down the air tubes to make sure the atomizer chamber is as clean as I can get it. I'll probably just fill them and give them a try again and I really want, and hope, that they work right. I am still very bothered by the fact that there have been no insturctions from SI regarding cleaning these. That seems very odd to me, especially since I have asked in both threads and in PMs. From what little experience I have with them, they do not seem to come apart at all which would make cleaning in the traditional way somewhat of a problem. I am watching the polling and it really isn't very impressive, but then again, people never seem to want to vote for anything, look at the state of our government, LOL.

I'm not that into cleaning them, I guess. I use the same one for an entire batch of juice and then clean it out after a number of refills. If it doesn't want to work anymore, which has happened to one CE3 that started leaking like a sieve, I just throw it away and get a new one. On the CE3, one that started leaking, I shoved a end cap down onto the silicone seal and that fixed it long enough for me to finish off the juice. Most of my stuff has leaked a little, meaning a few drops onto the battery. I take the clearo or CE3 off every so often and check to make sure there isn't liquid sitting underneath on the battery. Haven't had that problem yet with the Nano but I will be checking.

For the few times I've gotten a burnt taste I noticed that air bubbles weren't coming out of the air holes. Once I gave the nano a couple of turns on its side a huge air bubble would finally pop out, once that happened the burnt taste would go away.

I only noticed a muted taste when I first vaped after rinsing them out. After a few hits it would go back to normal. Having gear not work as anticipated is a real bummer.

awsum, I know you have to be frustrated...........I actully got a sore throat from the taste of the first one yesterday and it didnt go away until I rinsed it. If it would have continued, I would have been pretty unhappy. I, too, really wanted these to work; mainly so that I didnt need the syringe but I am still using the syringe. If the syringe works, I don't see much of a point of buying the needle tips now that I think about it. The posts about random leaks has me a bit nervous. I never put anything in a ziplock until now.

They look like they are MUCH better quality than the CE3s - visually, they are impressive. I guess I will keep beta testing :)

The question I have that I would like answered if possible is:

Can the cap be off for longer than 30 seconds or so? (Again, this sounds like a stupid question to me) but I haven't had it off for longer and I haven't had any leaks

To maintain the "leak proof" status the cap does need to be put on pretty quickly. With a vaping liquid I would guess 60 seconds would be the outside limit based on the thicker viscosity of liquids. I checked when cleaning them and water does begin to drip in about 10 seconds. I never really timed it with a stop watch, so that's a guess and pretty subjective, I guess. Getting the tip back on quickly isn't that big of an issue, at least to me. Filling it without a syringe is just a matter of practice and technique but it does require a bottle with a drip style tip to keep the stream concentrated in a very small area and so it can be held against the air tube. The random leaks do make me nervous as well. I don't travel very much, but I do routinely put a CE3 in my shirt or pants pocket when I go out. If the Nano leaks sporadically it won't be very practical if it does leak like that. Zip locks are a non-starter for me The cost is also a factor, sure they do look really good, especially compared to the "rough" appearance of a CE3, but I don't feel the appearance is worth that much of a difference.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.

I guess what I was asking is for storage................

Can I store these empty and with the tip off? I am not up on my physics but I know they have to maintain "suck-age" when juice is there.....just didnt know if it was empty if that was still the case. They were shipped assembled and why I am asking.

If they're empty there's nothing to leak. If there is a little liquid left in them it will leak out over time, liquid will always seek the lowest point. If I were going to store them I would rinse them out, leave the tip off and not worry about it. They'll be fine. They're shipped assembled out of convenience for manufacturing and packaging, I think. The silicon seals could dry out over time if left "open" to the air, but I think they'd last for quite a number of years before that becomes a problem.
