The new 18650 NoEgo

How is the NoEgo different from the e-power???? Anyone know that own both????

skeeterkck -- go back to about post 228 in this thread and romaniac explains how he started working with smoketech before they started selling the e-power...sounds like romaniac may have more options for future enhancements with his noEgo's than smoktech may offer...
But I dunno....that's why I just keep reading this thread everyday! Seems like i learn something new every time I read it...

jbmcdan is correct, but the short answer is that Romaniac designed the NoEgo yet needed SmokTech's manufacturing help to get the thing out the door and affordable. SmokTech now sells the ePower through any vendor who wishes to be a reseller.

Now, had I known that in the first place I would have ordered from Romaniac (JazzCartopipe.com) to support the original developer. But when the 5v switches arrive I'll be the proud owner of a 3.7v ePower and a 5.0v NoEgo with improved body. At the time I owned no 18650 batteries so looked for a package deal but I now have several.

There are good thing and bad things about the black units. All the black cones and battery tubes that I have they are aluminium which make it very light but also the threading has got me some complaints. I have both colors the new chrome unit is very durable and looks very good. I can also sell one switch and one of each cone and battery tube.The black battery tube is $10 and the cone is $5.

I had no issues with my aluminum body after lubricating the treads to avoid that squeak. But the paint does seem to scratch easily. What is the weight of the old vs. new unit w/o the battery? Can we get some pics of the new black and silver?

Sorry there is no new black just silver for now. I still have black aluminium tubes and cones.

Just ordered a steel 18650. Cann´t wait to get it in my hands.

I also ordered the ego booster ad on from another seller, to make it provisionally VV, hope that soon there will be an update about the progress for the VV switch Romaniac is looking for. Will get one asa it will be available.

do you know if the trusfire protected "flames" 18650 will fit in the tube. Have some of them laying around here.

Yes that is what is made for and also it will fit two 18350 batteries for the future 5V switch.

I have been using 2-3v batts since the day I got mine about a month to 2 months ago and switch hasnt been affected in any way. Hits great..

I am using 2-3v LIPO4 batts NOT 3.7 Lio ions.

So I dont suggest trying this.

I dont want anyones switch to go out because of what I do.

I just mention it because you asked.

Good to know, the bauway one, who has ego electronics, with a 18650 Lio Ion giving a regulated 3.4 Volt out, is used here with two 3V bats, giving out between 4,5 and 5 Volts.
OK, I dont own a bauway, but it is comented at the german forum.

I dont remember where I did read it, but am pretty shure that somebody who took the switch apart, stated to find 4.5 Amp rated circuits in it.
