Joss, depending on where you wish to go with your builds, you may find the 28 to be the limiting factor in getting the coil down into the OCC. It may be a good thing to have some 30 and 32g on hand as well....;)

think a correction is needed- I watched the total rebuild of the OCC by Rip Tripper, and followed his rewicking from that video.. I guess there's some "pancake" wicking thing going around, and that wasn't it.

I have plenty of 30g! thought I would need thicker wire.. shooting for 1.2-1.5 ohms.

thanks for the pics! it does seem super easy and quick. Imma give it a go tomorrow.

And I stand corrected as you are completely right for the builds you are shooting for. My thoughts were more towards the higher ohms that some folks prefer.

it amazes me how quickly ACB and Atlanta (even diluted) gunk up these coils! the flavor and vapor is exactly what I want though, so I'm real happy these are an easy rebuild/rewick.

I tried the installed coil in the rba, measured to 0.6 ohms, and it was too harsh and warm.. I definitely prefer a cooler vape!

Too true! With CLS/Frenilla, I got 10 days out of a 1.2 OCC. With ACB, 4 days. And with GC, about 20 minutes!

Subtank Mini RBA.. 1.2ohm spaced coil.. chunky wicking.. can't go above 13.2w without getting a burny hit. and that's 2 whole watts below my preference, for both ACB and Atlanta..

any ideas?

It has to be the wicking Joss. Still hitting the Got Cookie with the same coil and wick that I posted @ 22 watts with no issues.

it's always the wick! I need to remember this...

28g arrived today.. gonna get my coilin' geek on pretty soon here..

eta: went back to sterile cotton, only because I know how to work with it, and I wanna vape ATL right now! up to 14.8w, hittin like a champ!

edit again: cut the juiced-up wicks right at the deck.. and.. it helps to lower the coil more into the deck..

bare with me.. this is my first enclosed RBA!

edit again! I had skimmed by this earlier, found it again and gave it a try- bubbles coming up on their own, back at 15.2w.. it's just time consuming, right now..

Right on! You go for it mi'lady. :)

You know, I have 2 ST minis and I have yet to build either RBA cup. Been playing with the OCC's. I'm going to have to tinker with them myself and when I do, I'll post up what I find. Right now, I'm hitting the Atlanta with a rebuilt OCC built with a 2mm 28g coil to 1.1 ohms and this one is using Cotton Bacon for wick. Running with the AFC wide open @ 23.5 on the SX mini and this thing is spewing the flavor and vapor with out so much as a hiccup.

That split wick is certainly an interesting set up. :vapor:

Gave it a try and I am NOT loving the Lemo! I guess it's time to begin the next quest! But that is part of the fun!

Me either! I may put mine in the classifieds along with an egrip.

Have two Lemo's as well. One is up and running and the other is still sealed in the box. I'll have to agree the Lemo is not without it's issues but once it is set up right, I find that it works pretty well. Of course having plenty of experience with Kayfun's and ditching the long legged coil set up in favor setting it up much the same way along with the proper wicking, was the key to getting it to work. I do love the draw on the thing.

I love the OCC- still working on getting the wicking right for those, too! if I can master the rebuild, I'll put these RBAs to the side- messy to keep messing with!
