IMG_20150302_154111799_HDR.jpgHi,

I'm wondering if the folks here can help me with this (rather basic question). This is a pic of my new 30W istick. What "ring" can I buy to make this look more attractive so that the middle part isn't nekid :). I know there is such a thing but I'm not certain what it's called. A "beauty ring," an "O" ring? Any help is appreciated. TIA!

Thanks, Megan. But I'm looking for the name of the thingy that screws onto the middle so that it'll have a uniform look. Some kinda ring thing that will cover up the connections in the middle...?

Awwww, yes. That would be a beauty ring. Search any vape gear related site for one. :)

My Nautilus minis fit flush with the top of the battery -- looks like you have the adapter on which you do not need. (Remove the adapter and the tank will fit flush.)
Edit - there are tons of pics in the istick threads so you can see, but lets see if this link works: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-us-your-girly-pretty-decorated-pink-213.html
POST #6362 (on the last page -- it's got a wrap and a decorated nautilus mini, but you will get the idea.)

Yep! Agree with Nanny...you don't need that 510 connector with the nautilus. Take the adapter off and screw the nautilus in.

No need to feel silly! Just keep the adapter in a safe place, there may be a tank down the road where it will be needed.

I just want to mention how easy it was to remove the wick, dry burn the coil and rewick the OCC for the SubTank Mini.

love these things!

Solace, after watching Rip Tripper's vid on re wicking the OCC, I'm wondering if there's an easier way ... Do you reuse the coil (which is what I think you are saying)? How do you get the new wick in? Sorry if I'm asking a dumb question

I've been wanting to put this together and the time has finally come. Posting a straight up 2mm 28g coil built to 0.9 ohms with cotton KGD wicking.

First step is to straighten the wire using two pairs of needle nosed pliers and pulling the strand in opposite directions with enough pressure just until you feel a very slight stretch.

Second step is to wrap the coils which in this case will be a 6/5 wrap.

After mounting the coil, trimming and checking the ohms, I then place it on the firing unit a pulse fire it while very slightly squeezing the coil with a pair of ceramic tweezers to get the coils legs touching as much of the coil as possible while also checking that the legs are close to the same length. Once this is done, I insert the coil looping tool that is seen in the wrapped coil picture to slightly push the coil to the left.

The ohms for this one came out to 0.94 but as with in horse shoes and hand grenades I'll take it as being close enough.

On to part two.......

Now it is time to place the atty on the firing unit and fire it up to check for an even glow with out hot legs.

Once I am happy with the coil, its time to do a little wicking. I thread the wicking from left to right ( in this case KGD) rolled just big enough so that it slides back and forth inside the coil while making contact with the coil itself but not so much that it snags. I then trim the wick on the "stubby" side just long enough to be able to fold it and tuck it under the negative leg while also making sure to leave the air gap under the coil nice and clear. ( take note that you may also take a little over hang out by very gently tugging on the left side of the wick while holding the tuck in place with your finger)

Once this is done, I then use the tweezers to gently push the left side down to the deck and then wrap it around to the back, eyeball my cut so that the wick is lying just center of the posts on the deck behind the coils, trim it then squonk andwet it. I then use the tips of the tweezers while pinched closed to tamp and adjust it a bit making sure that the wick is well clear of the squonking ports.

So there you have it, a simple straight up 28g coil. Next up, I plan on getting a little more into it and posting a few of my twisted and dual coil builds. Until then, if you have any questions, don't be shy or ashamed to post'em up or shoot me a PM.

Distor, is this for the Reo or not, because not the Reo thread? Do you want me to move your posts or is this to answer a question that was posted here?

Just wanted to check before I muddled things. :)

Good almost afternoon Megs! I posted it here because the person I posted it for is building for a non Reo squonker but if you would like to post it there as well, by all means, go right ahead....;)
