Partspro, I took the drop with me to work...in my pocket all day and not a drop leaked out! Not one drop!! Thank you!!

Thanks to all of you for your help!! I'm loving this tank now!!

Hey,

That's the best news I got all day!
Way to go Lynn!
Glad to hear it's working good for you. Let me know the next time you break it down for a build. Got a couple things you need to look at to make sure it keeps working well.

I will! I'd still like to take the ohm's down to the 1.0-1.2 range to be able to accomplish higher heats but right now, if it ain't broken I ain fixing it! Lol
Btw- I even fixed a dry hit situation so see, I'm listening!

Anyone ever have Wakonda go sweet on you?

A few details that could be a factor...
ST mini, fresh wick on RBA, about 3/4 tank of Radio run though.
Didn't wash tank or change wick, filled with Wakonda. Off and on found that Wakonda taste I was craving.
Filled a 2nd time with Wakonda and it's just been sweet all day.

Sounds like a case of what I call " flavor blind" vapers tongue to that particular juice coming on to me. I know that if I've been hitting one flavor especially hard the same thing starts to happen to me. Most of the time I'll just put it down for a while or wait until the next day when I have a fresh palate. Got a couple of Zotz? Try eating one or two and then come back to it and see what happens.

Zotz is easy enough, I'll try that now. And yeah, lots of Wakonda lately. If it's not in the ST, it's in a clearomizer somewhere within reach. If I need a break, I might have to clean and re-wick before bed and fill with Atlanta.

Heh, the zotz definately helped out. Thanks! It's too late to mess with cleaning the tank and re-wicking.
Do you recommend sticking with it, or should I change up for a few days?

The change up is always a good thing as it will help to keep the taste buds fresh. This is why when I leave the house ( particularly for working my 12hr shifts) I always carry at least 3 and a lot of times 4 different flavors with me.

That is I go to work or travel. I think I've gotten TSA trained. They don't bother with my backpack anymore. 4 Reos and other mods. Zip right through the X Ray...

I can only make it through 1-2 tanks of Wakonda before I have to do a dry burn/re wick. It goes sweet on me every time. I love it, but kinda high maintenance.

It might be in my head, but I feel running that tank of Radio first and then not cleaning just accelerated the sweetness. Also is it possible for the wicking to create too moist a vape?

Gonna leave the ST home tomorrow for the 1st time since I got it. Nautilus mini full of The Virus should get me through the work day!

I know I had that "too moist" thing happen to me once with my Kayfun. I think I was still running cotton back then, but I don't remember what I did to cause it!

I've been working on my wicking. Although this time I haven't had any burned hits in almost three days, each pull started with a little spit. I had the tails quite short, I believe they are barely touching the bottom. And I could see the juice holes quite clearly.

Next time you break it down for a build, take some pictures of your current wick job. More than enough people around here willing to give you some pointers!

So this is the old wick that I was talking about in my post, didn't take a picture of the new one I put in today though.

I plan on running Atlanta for a few days, then switching back to Wakonda. So I'll switch wick out again by the weekend. I'll take more pics.
Don't know what I'd do without the ECF family, I don't know anyone locally who vapes (except 1 co-worker who hasn't moved to anything rebuild-able yet)

Alawot, ST mini deck..No? Although I have yet to get to building mine yet, ( been using my rebuilt occ's) I have studied it quite a bit and here's what I know.

The ST rta deck is basically a small version of the Kayfun deck and more directly, very close to the Kayfun mini. I have experienced the "sweetness" thing in a Kayfun before as they used to be all I used. I found that the issues you posted were caused by two things.

1st. and the most important is the coil being too close to the deck or suction port under the coil. It looks to me in the picture that your coil is almost level with the post screws. Next time you re-wick ( and if your coil legs are long enough) try inserting what it is you used to wrap your coil and lifting it straight up a bit so that the coil is almost to the point that it is completely above the screws. This one solved the sweetness issue.

2nd. It looks to me like the wicking is a bit compacted. Try fluffing your wick a bit. Sometimes when the wicking is well saturated and compacted, the juice tends to 'boil off" a bit as the coil heats up then causing the spitting issue you are talking about. Your wicking should cascade down and fan out to the width of the sides of the post block while just making full contact with the deck.

Give this a shot and report back and in the mean time, I have to get off of my backside and get to building mine to post...:?: Lately it seems as if all I have the time to do is maintain the equipment that I already have built.
