So I bought the v2 orchid clone based on all the positive posts in this thread. I wasn't sure about the draw at first as I have a few Russians and liked mouth to lung hits. I've built it twice now and I think I may be converted, lol. I'm running mine with a nano kit. I think I like the smaller capacity as I can change up flavors when I'm done with a tank. The only issue I keep having is leaking through the air holes. It only happens when it has laid on it's side for a while. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so did you figure out a remedy?

Top filling you have to do that KF trick where you cover the air holes, flip upside-down, uncover the airholes, flip right-side up, stand on your head, ...

I do that too, with the strands of wick in the juice channels. Thin and long, like a Fu Man Chu 'stache. Also, double check that o-ring that connects the top cap to the chimney if you're getting leaks. Maybe not making an airtight seal up there.

No leaks here on my v2, try rayon wick if you haven't already?

BTW, v3.5 is on Fasttech now:

I'll stick with the v2

That v3.5 looks pretty cool.I'm a sucker for a cool new look on a great device anyway, plus i was planning on getting the v2,but i think i may just jump a few versions, and from v1 straight to the 3.5 haha.

I agree though, when wicked correctly,at least with rayon,it will not leak.I have left one of mine on it's side for a week and never lost a drop. The key is those tails in the channels.

Cmangoboogie, the nano kit does work, but the capcity is horrid with it.It may be a bit better on the v2 and up,but i tried it on my v1,and really pushing it to the verge of spilling out,i got a whopping 1.5ml in it haha.I think Cindy's idea of using silicone tubing and a full sized quartz kit would be the best option to keep a reasonable capacity and use glass,at the lowest cost.

Got my Orchid clone today and I can't put it down! Got whichever version has the bottom fill and phillips head screws. As easy as my Plume Veil clone to build on, a little trickier to get the wicking right. The first 2 times I was just using too much cotton, and getting charred hits. The third time I used much less cotton and just enough length on the wicks to touch the vertical channels. Vapes like a dream, perfect balance of cloud and flavor just like my Plume Veil fake. No leaking once I figured out the proper wicking and bottom fill hole. Using a .5ohm dual coil build with 28ga Kanthal A1 and regular ole' organic cotton on a Munstro clone with Sony VTC4 batts. Nothing super fancy here, no plans to mess with how it's working. Since I drive a lot, this is a really practical way to avoid the distraction of drippin' n' drivin', and since I don't have to worry about leaking I can just put it in my shirt pocket instead of laying it sideways in my car console.

Lets rewick my orchid rta: http://youtu.be/siuHCFRDW-4

I found this video using Japanese cotton to wick it.
Seems like the v2 with a quartz nano kit is the way to go. Which is basically the v3 or a kayfun dual coil. Then I seee that 3.5 link lol it never ends

Glad it worked! I cracked the center glass in mine :( . I did however put together my kayfun with the extra parts.

Have some Japanese cotton, a stingray x clone, 2 vtc4s , charger and new orchid 3.5 with the clear top. Thenn just added a v2 and a nano kit. Vape mail, vape mail, and more vape mail!!!! Report back with some new pics and a non leaking version of the orchid! (hopefully) :)

That's cool, Nick. I do use rayon, but I never even thought to do single coil on this. And OMG, how many different versions of the Orchid is FT gonna carry?!@# There's like a dozen now!

I can't remember if it was mentioned before, but tobeco has a v4 out now,and this is the one that can very easily be made into the perfect rba.It has a large capacity, bottom fill, and they must have been reading the forums, because it has a way longer chimney,so the full size quartz kit should fit it.I like that v3.5 that was posted, but i'm going straight to the v4.I already have a full size quartz from my kayfun,so i'll be set. They are claiming 7ml capacity, but it looks to be about the same size as a fogger,so i'm guessing probably around 4ml capacity, but hey i'll be more than happy with that haha. Here is a link to a seller that has them now, there are a few cheaper but they are pre orders.

Finally. A longer chimney.

The Orchid is finally the atty it should've been from the beginning. This thing blows huge clouds, awesome airflow, doesn't leak, is easy to build on, and now has access to the huge volume of kayfun accessories out there. Custom glass tanks, top fill, dome caps... brass, copper, black... you want it, you can probably find it.

IMO, there is ZERO reason any other tank system should even be considered at this point, especially when you consider cost and the aftermarket.

Long live the king.

I agree! Love my Orchid V2 but I definitely need this bigger version. At .56 ohms my orchid just kills the juice like nothing.. Vapes perfect though!
