Thanks! I think it will work fine. I can always build lower. Now i need to learn about using dual batts! I'll get the regulated version & a mech version for just in case. The only mechs I have are 2 Stingray's I grabbed in the VB sale. I love that magnetic switch. I have a Rig clone that I loathe. The switch unscrews. It's headed for the trash. Have no idea why I still have it.

Pm me an address. It's yours if you promise to report back on it! Lol! You're gonna hate it! I thought about putting it in my truck to use as a club, or break a window out if I need to...that's what we need to see on the news. Sr citizen, or elderly grandmother uses ecig to beat attacker senseless. I'd have to kill the reporter for using those words to discribe me unless they were prefaced with the word bada**.

We cannot do that here I was just joking when I said that as it is against the rules.

Can someone let me know that a mosfet is and why I would want one.

Basically it helps transfer the current from the batteries to the load instead of relying on the switch, in very simple terms. The switch can't handle that. Its much safer to have one in a non regultaed mod that uses a wired switch.

Nice :)

I think you are confusing Micro-coil with Contact coil. A micro-coil has a ID between 1.5-1.9mm, nano-coil is between 1-1.4mm. Standard is between 2-2.9mm and Macro is any coil 3mm or larger.
yes in the segment where I was speaking of my "30g micro coi" I should-have just called them contact coils for the reasons you outlined above, and others. however, when speaking of my builds with thicker wire, I do indeed follow the microcoil handbook way of doin' it :) lol.

Well, gnite everyone <3 sleep well. I'm going to read an art magazine, look at some products, maybe start a rough draft sketch for a painting, and get some ZzzzZzZzZZzZz's, yeah? right? Heck yuss!!

I don't know that there were RDAs in 2009. I was dripping into 510 disposable atomizers in 2009 if I remember right. & "tail-piping" which was a term we invented for taking hits from the disposable 510 atty without a drip tip (or cart) (producing warmer/thicker vapor) haha.

We were still dripping in cartos in 2011-2012 I think? The HH357 hit the market around that time if I remember right that was not that long ago lol.

Would sure like to know what RDA you were using in 2009?!?

hey idk where you were, but disposable 510 attys used 30g as-well :p

& when I said "I don't know that there were RDAs in 2009" I meant it in the english/UK sense... IE: "I don't think there were RDAs in 2009" lol. Although, there were modders DEEEEEEP in the deepest darkest parts of ECF, in threads with 2 or 3 responses (because no-1 understood what the H*LL they were talking about) & they were creating their very own RDAs and mods way before the 1st commercial RBA. lol. I'm not sure, but I THINK people were re-soldiering (& when I say people, I mean I think I saw ONE older-man say that he had done it) new coils into disposable 510 atomizers at one point, & this was before we even knew about resistances/ohms.

Digging into the "Wayback" part of my brain (and a little bit of google-fu).... "Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor" it's a switch/amplifier. It's been 30 years, but I believe that this can be used to control current being delivered to a load. Boden can expand on this much more eloquently than I. I would think that this can be used to "regulate" a mech?

Basically it helps transfer the current from the batteries to the load instead of relying on the switch, in very simple terms. The switch can't handle that. Its much safer to have one in a non regultaed mod that uses a wired switch.

A mosfet is basically a switch that is triggered electrically.

The fire button is used to send a small amount of power to the gate. The gate then connects the source to the drain allowing a higher current to pass to the coil than the button itself could handle.

Electrons flow from the negative to the positive.

We knew what resistance was :)

Yes.. There were about 15 of us.

Hmmmm... Looks like there is a flaw in Bodens single battery mosfet schematic. As drawn, the entire common side of the load will pass through the switch. (if I'm not mistaken)
But that pic was on the web... ;)

Good catch I'll remove that pic. I need a schematic drawing program.

No sweat, just swing the battery negative from the mosfet to the 510 common, you could do that with "Paint"... ;)
I found that schematic on google image. I just woke up.. Hadn't had my tea yet... There was a light shining in my eye..

All my schematic programs use EE symbols which mean nothing to the general public. With AutoCAD I should be able to make EE noob friendly schematics. :)
