I got my Grande and I love it. I am very impressed with the way it's built and the vape it produces. I'm currently using a regular 510 and I'm very surprised at the vape this is producing. The only other mod I've known to hit like this is the Phidias. You don't need an LR atty at 3.7, amazing. The feed system it employs is excellent and I get great juice feed with one push and found that you don't even need a drip tip for it if you decide to drip on it. You can just add your juice directly to the catch reservoir, that's pretty neat! I am also very impressed with the customer service-he contacts you to see if there are any problems and is ready to make it right if there are-couldn't find any.

Jesse- I looked at the Rio Grand- was wondering if you know weather or not he used the same concept as Fono did having the spring work like a fuse in the event of a short? Is there any short protection in it?

I can't tell, there are no visible wires anywhere on this mod-very clean inside. The spring itself is more thicker and sturdier so maybe not designed to collapse like the Phidias. I've been reading the Reo thread and couldn't find any reference to shorts or problems along those lines. This is a very solid device, you could knock somebody out if you hit them with it and there would be no damage to the mod itself.

I kind of expected it to be rock solid. I'd stick with IMRs in it.. unless you can get some confirmation that its got some kind of way of disonnecting should the current overload. The short you're worried about is from the atty, not the device...
Sounds like a great device though- maybe metal counterpart to a phidias.

Who makes the Grande?

Yeah, it's just the collector in me that yearns for it. Anyone with a Precious L1 knows why I want an L2.

Indeed, as a Precious L owner I'd like the new one.

However the stacked battery design isn't ideal. I do like the Provari electronic design, but the aesthetics of that device do absolutely nothing for me.

Exactly! Metal counterpart. As far as I can tell no atty shorts have been reported and on this one you can use adapters without shorting out anything-nice!

How long have you been looking at my signature? ... can't think that way- just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't- theoretically the atty coil and wires should fry pretty quickly but that might be too late to stop a battery from running away. on and on...
didn't mean to lecture- you know where I'm comming from...

It's pretty amazing how badly they did aesthetically with that; all that engineering work, and then somebody deliberately decides on end-caps that look like old-style Coke bottle caps.

It looks like it's made out of cheap tin.
