The stacking batts thing is all taken care of. The Precious will be SAFE. He demonstrates with UNprotected batterys.

YouTube - The Precious

Really? you think that two stacked 18350's ultrafire 18350s is as good and as safe as a single AW IMR 18650? Taking care of the stacking batteries issue would have been eliminating it altogether by using a buck-boost regulator... Do you really think those shenzen 1200mAh batteries with ultrafire labels on them are anywhere near 1200mAh? Do you think they are quaility batteries? A single IMR 18650 driving a buck/boost regulator would have been a better design and is what most of the other guys who know what they are doing are using.

In addition, stacking protected batteries isn't as safe as you might think because:
1) you need to take extra steps to maintain the batterys -
- keep them in pairs
-rotate them in use
-rotate them when chargering
2) you need to be extra careful with them because the PCB can easily be crushed

I completely agree that the pictures of the Precious seem to be more elegant than other tube devices making it the choice asthetically, but electronically and ergonomically, there are designs that are more functional and better thought out....

Ok guys let us all stop hoping and dreaming. The site is closed and thats that. End of the story. Let's move on to the next best PV what ever that may be. Caesar is probably in jail. Now Moderator, close down this thread and all references to the company. It breaks my heart to say though.

Why the hatin' on the Vari-volt? I admit that choosing function over form is almost anti-American in our society, but the darn thing sounds super cool. Add juice feed and it is FUNCTIONALLY awesome. Aesthetically, meh.

Not really hatin' just stating that it looks like a piece of thin from the photos. I'm sure in person it a nice device and I know a few who say it's there favorite PV and would buy another it need be.
Also, this is a "The Precious" thread so lets close it down and start a ProVape thread. Hear me moderator?

There's no reason to believe that the Precious is a dead duck although I admit it's not looking at all healthy on current form. It's pretty silly to ask the moderators to close this thread until it's a confirmed casualty.

The only things I hate are people who're lazy and use there when they mean their or they're and your when they mean you're, it sends me bonkers.

I'd like a variable voltage mod to add to my collection, but at the moment it won't be the Provari as it's pretty ugly (despite having nice features including the option to use 18500 and 18650 batteries) to my eyes. Incidentally as I'm not from the USA it's not just your society that pays some attention to form as well as function.

The Precious juice feeder looked a good design too and I'm not aware that one is available for the Provari

You can put a vapemate on anything - Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products. . I think notcigs has a dripper bottle attachment too... All of my bashing of Caesar aside, I think his idea on the feeder did/does make his design unique. There's a huge difference between his autofeed and a squeeze bottle attached in front of the atty both aesthetically and functionally. Its unclear what caused him to go dark on us and we know he had issues manufacturing the stainless version - its quite likely that his problems were related to manufacturing the JD .... my point being that there are alternatives to the JD that are shipping and available today -

For those that aren't sure about the looks of the Provari, you might want to read some of the posts regarding fit and finish on the provape (which shares the exterior design) - in some of the posts they discuss that it looks allot better in person than it did in the pictures. It is stainless and there are plenty of folks that have one that think it looks pretty good and fits the hand well.

For those of you puking over the looks- you're entitled to your opinion - I'll go as far as to agree that the pictures do not do it any favors, and I'm sure I won't be calling it the most beautiful device in my collection... but I can live with it and I'm going to get one despite its looks - I expect it will look a bit better than my V3 and to me it definitely looks better than a buzz.

You know art is a funny thing- you take a 100 year old chair in a barn in the mid west and it's an old chair that may be worth $10.... take the same chair, hang it from a rope, put it in a window in a gallery here in SOHO (NY) and hire a brit with bad teeth to work in the gallery who sells it as art for $50,000 to a guy from California... puke all you want, who are you to say its not Art?

@breaktru- we are discussing the Precious- in the context of its alternatives- in fact this is discussion is the only thing of substance that's been on this subforum for two months. I agree with Tyke, for the most part... this thread should stay open till it's no longer relevant- perhaps after some of the other devices are shipping... Despite the fact that Caesar's postings on what's left of his website are unacceptable, he did express he still intends to show up one day with something. In that light, its totally appropriate to use this place to compare, discuss and puke (if thats what you want to do) over devices that provide similar features vs what we expect from the Precious V2. If you don't want to participate- simply unsubscribe.

I still think the precious L V2 is the best looking Mod out there right now. If and when it comes out. All the people knocking the Provari looks. I don't think it is a bad looking mod. A little busy looking but still very nice looking in my opinion. Not as nice as the Precious but no where near as bad as another future mod that was a hyped up. That I will not name. So I will be checking this thread daily as always hopeing and waiting.

To be fair, none of them are out there yet.......re the one you don't want to name, were you referring to the one that looks like one of those big 50 amp fuses?

Jim are you sure it has a juice pump in it? I didn't read anything about a juice pump in the thread. None the less I won't be buying either of those two mods.

Thought it did- I must have read that part about priming the atty too quickly... now I got it.... well, looks like it tells the time and you can probably use it for a garage door opener...
