not everyone can afford to "stock up when there's a sale". A first class shipping option would be very helpful to many of us.

I was waiting for this one.

So, because you're broke, you spend $25 one week, $25 another, then $25 one more week and pay the shipping charge 3 times. Rather than pay $75 and a one time shipping charge.

This may be why you can't afford to stock up.

Sorry, not trying to be a jerk, but I don't see how a company can be held accountable for someone else's lack of rudimentary budget skills.

Thanks for your so thoughtful response to someone on a fixed income. and you DID come off sounding like a jerk.

Then I apologize. Sorry. I just really disagree with your gripe against shipping costs. Of all the things to complain about, this seems minimal. You're losing money, and your response implies that somehow I'm an elitist by suggesting that you could save money. That "some of us," who can't afford things includes myself, and I try to mitigate that by not throwing money away.

The last time a topic like this came up I gave the answer to the "First Class" mailing option based on my own on-line business.
Here are some of the reasons for only offering Priority Mail.

1) The USPS gives all if it's shippers all the packaging it needs, for FREE.
That can average out to $1 per shipment.
2) The logistics of sifting through 5 orders a day to adjust the shipping on that many orders takes very little time.
Jump the orders to 50 or 200 orders a day and it becomes very expensive to pay someone to sit at a desk all day just printing out labels for all the different shipping types.
3) The cost of sending a first class padded envelope with a small item is a touch cheaper but that will change this Sunday when those rates go up to almost match Priority.

Thank you, keelalagirl...or "happy smiling dog" as I think when I see your posts. I was just surprised by the rudeness, but have now found the ignore function that i never thought I'd need on this forum. All's well.

There's an ignore button???? I gotta find that little bugger.....lol. My poor baby isn't smilin too much today sadly....she's a weather chicken.

One thing I do when reading the posts is pretend it's my old chem teacher talkin....he had such a monotone voice that you couldn't tell if he was bein funny, sarcastic, or what.....not to mention the most dry sense of humor I have EVER seen.....it was quite funny actually. It's very hard to emphasize emotion in writing like you can when actually talking, so I try not to read too much into any of it. Just read it all as bland (unless it's got pretty smilies kisses.gif).

No Touché meant my friend, I live in NY and deal with the people here daily. Compared to other parts of the country the average Joe here is a touch on the un-mannered side, if you know what I mean.

I'm going to be in Buffalo for the Allentown art show in June you should stop by our booth and say hi. I'll be near the corner of Franklin and Delaware with the leather booth.

I love the way V4L runs it's business very much. I can offer no complaints about sales, I dig them. No one else i know of does it like this and I just don't even get the OP. Shop around and compare prices. Free shipping means more expensive prices.

It allows them to ..inventory gets .. just .. what? the .. ...

V4L ROCKS!
