Question: When you buy the Tatroe base from Provape, it comes with an extension tube?

"The wide end cap plus the optional extension ring (+$12.00) will allow you to use the following batteries:
The ProVari - 18490 and 18650
The ProVari Mini - 18350 and 18490"

I was fascinated by this video the other night. Not by the review, but the guy's arms. Is it the lighting or did he have sleeves done and then his arm hair grew back? If his arms were that hairy didn't it occur to him it would look weird?

Also, I keep hearing it called "Roosgar," but maker spells it "Rüzgar." The U has an umlaut over it, which should make it pronounced "Ruhsgar," like rug. It's from the Philippines, so maybe the mark has a different sound change in their language or they just wrote it that way to look cool. I just posted on their fb page and asked them.

Nice I like it!

I hope you mean the tank and not his sleeves. All I can think of is a chimp.

But yeah, the tank. I excited about it! The cons he brings up don't seem much more than anything else I've run into with different devices and I really like the look.

I'm with RebelGolfer on this one.

I'd agree that Apple consumer electronics running iOS are targeted for average consumers. The entire 'App' framework was built to abstract the user from the operating system. It's easy to use but you don't get a command line, access to the file system etc. You could also argue that it makes the device more secure and reliable that way, but it is what it is...iOS is not for mobile 'power' users.

OSX is a completely different story. It's based on FreeBSD, an open source unix server platform. Most of the developers I know prefer using OSX over windows because not only can you develop your code, you can also develop your supporting shell scripts, crontabs etc. right on the workstation. It's a one stop shop. Many high end workstations creating Hollywood special effects are Mac Workstations, and Mac has always been the preferred platform for graphical editing and professional desktop publishing.

I went Mac largely after the Microsoft debacle that was Windows Vista (the worst memory hog of an operating system ever created). Microsoft almost won me back with Windows 7, which is still and excellent OS. Then they released Win 8 with the metro interface to give the common look and feel across platforms (and I don't own a surface tablet or windows phone...so I don't care). That's where both companies are going though...they want a common OS across all their products so you can have the same user 'experience' regardless of what device you're on, so you either mix and match (which is fine, you just lose out on some cross-platform functionality) or you go all-in. I went all Apple because of Mac OSX and haven't seen anything compelling enough from the competitors to switch just yet.

I just hope someone starts innovating. I don't have much hope with Tim Cook @ Apple, he's a device guy and not the computing visionary Jobs was...Satya Nedella may just turn MS around, but it will be at least 2 years before we really see the effect of his leadership. Google will continue to push them both but I have a hard time understanding what that company's long term vision is, lately the only real hype has been around their driverless car (haven't even heard anything on the Google glasses lately).

/Tech rant
WARNING: Geek talk ahead:

One problem I see with the whole Windows 8 deal, is you really have 2 worlds. You have the metro apps, and then the traditional desktop. IMHO, they should have kept the traditional desktop in the OS for those on PCs. It really works better for multitasking and productivity (Ie viewing multiple windows at same time et ), and if they wanted app compatibility in there, put those in a virtual window

Mac OS and iOS really have always been the same OS kernel. Granted, each one optimized for the hardware it runs on (will soapbox on that later). What is cool about that is, you could easily take the same Mac application. Or iOS app and use them interchangeably, simply by changing the user interface. So the inter compatibility is there.

One reason that I believe that MacOS GENERALLY runs more efficiently than Windows, is that it's written for very specific hardware. Windows has many more processors and system boards to be compatible with-- adding to the overhead required. If windows was written in a more hardware specific form, the stability and performance would equal and possibly exceed Mac OSX. -- a prime example of that is the XBox gaming system. That is a specialized/optimized version of Windows, built for that particular piece of hardware. Faster, stable and better than any PC version of windoze I have ever seem

Nice to see you! Folks have been asking about your whereabouts.

I have been busy fighting our oppressors in the FDA. However, I am between projects on that issue for at least a few days. I will try to be here a bit more often.

It is nice to see you, too, Highness.

For a cooler vape really...........and although I haven't tried it, I don't know how one would get better flavor by sub-ohming and cranking up the wattage.

HEY EDD!

Generally that is the result of using very heavy wire. Heavy wire, with a lot of wraps takes more power to effectively heat (heat sinking effect). So by sub-ohming, the current flow through the wire goes high enough to heat it in a reasonable time frame, so it doesn't get as hot as you would think, plus you get greater surface area to vaporize more juice at a time.

honestly? I'd shop FastTech. Here ya go - just 487 results for "drip tip" to look through.
I've got $4 tips I love from them. Free shipping.
They have some junk, but some stuff is just fine, and pricing is fantastic...

Where's a good place to get drip tips. I want long ones and ones that don't get too hot. (acrylic, glass, etc)

I can def see where that's coming from. Some juice do have a slightly different flavor profile at different wattage. I loooove my bakery and NET juices at 15 watts and above.

But the other thing really is that with higher wattage, theres more heat to vaporize the juice and you get a denser vape. If you consider the vapor to be made up of tiny particulates of juice, then you can see why the flavor intensifies.

Having said that, taking things to the extreme is counter productive. Some juice just get cooked and burnt at high wattages. Also higher wattage = hotter, and you'll typically need to increase the airflow to either cool it down or to cloud chase. That in effect "dilutes" the vapor and mutes the flavor :)

+1000 on the airflow. Not enough air flow with any coil running at any power level is likely to burn.

It is a balance though. Larger air holes do mute flavors, but if the vapor density is high enough, that "problem" disappears.

I just placed a FT order..........just the tip, just to see how it feels and ordered some drip tips. One of them was "Black Derlin" but they didn't paint the bottom crevasses.

All in all though, can't say I am unhappy. I got it in 2.5 weeks and it was cheap.

K, we have some masters here.

Here is my dripper issue. I have to take "aqua lung" hits for vapor. The flavor is good but I was thinking about what I would need to do to get a moderate amount of vapor and flavor without sub-ohming.

I gather from what you are saying............that thinner wire with better air flow will require less of a long hit?

It seems unfair to limit my affections to any one woman at a time...but currently I do have a favorite. I am doing well, thanks for asking. I hope you are too, sir.

I am a bit run down after a hectic couple of weeks, but, I am looking forward to a relatively quiet weekend with my cubs.
