I don't taste any nuttiness in BWB RY4, but I sure do get that cedary-piney thing. It's a characteristic undertone of the original natural extract tobacco base that Don uses for many of his tobacco blends. Some people like it. I don't. That undertone is the main reason I fell out of love with BWB RY4. To me, cedar-pine scent is fine for storage trunks and kitchen cleaners, but not as a flavor in nicquids.
Wow. Been quite a while since I've read an entire paragraph that could've come from my lips. Couldn't agree more with everything you said.
I heartily agree with Passerbyeus about VB OuR-Y4. Simple. Direct. Classic. A totally delicious RY4 to my current palate. OuR-Y4 is currently #3 on my personal Top 10 RY4 list.
I'll have to give that one a try, then. My only hesitation, though, is that so far the PV4 isn't cutting it flavorwise, and that's the one everyone said I should try. I loved the "lost" RY4 (and one day someone's gonna tell me that damned story, lol), and after an entire year am still looking for something smooth, almost creamy, that's non-nutty, non-piney tobacco, strong caramel, and a subtle vanilla on the exhale. The thing about the lost recipe that I liked was how the tobacco wasn't obvious on its own, but somehow blended with the caramel and vanilla in a unique way, creating an entirely new flavor. It's almost like a bass guitar; you wouldn't even recognize the tobacco unless it wasn't present, or was "out of tune" somehow (and using nutty or piney flavored tobacco certainly counts --woof).
I tend to stay away from "classic" ry4s I prefer earthy, smokey, more pronounced caramel ry4s.....does that mean technically I don't like ry4 lol
I'd say you just described a "classic" RY4, albeit a strong one, almost a dessert vape with a cigar-like tobacco. That actually sounds really good, as long as they keep the forest out of it. When animals start trying to drag my RY4 bottles up a tree, I know something's not right...
