The Really Big RY4 Roundup (long)

I like Mom & Pops. They are very cheap if you use their concentrates. I have each of the M&P RY4s, and plan to try to find the perfect percent of concentrate for each soon.

I tried M&P's RY4 concentrate with not much success. At 20% with 50/50 and steeping for a week, it was very weak to me. After 2 weeks, no change. I ended up mixing it 50% just to get close to the RY4 I bought from them. That being said, I'm no DIY expert and probably messed it up somehow. I will stick to the highly rated already mixed juices.

I had forgotten that Mom&Pop sell all their retail juices as DIY flavoring concentrates. For 10ml bottles that are formulated to be mixed at 20%, they're not cheap, but they are proprietary and hand-made rather than re-labeled off-the-shelf flavorings, so that's a big plus.

Yes, Texmac, something is clearly amiss with your RY4 misadventure. Never in my entire DIY history have I had a flavoring that could be mixed at 50%, at least not without the juice tasting awful. (I've never actually risked a 50% mix, but I've done my share of ruining juices by over-flavoring.) I'm not implying that it's your fault---I wasn't there and have no way of assessing where the problem was. All we can say for sure is that, at the recommended 20% mix, your DIY RY4 should taste exactly like Mom&Pop's retail RY4. If it doesn't, we know for sure that something's wrong somewhere.

To remind myself how they taste, I just vaped all three of Mom&Pop's retail RYs. M&P RY4v2 was and still is my favorite of the three. M&P RY4 has the unmistakeable signature of Tobacco Absolute (TA is like an essential oil of tobacco dilutedin an alcohol base), and M&P RYO has the muddy, thick-tasting tobacco-ness that's characteristic of Tobacco Extract (TE is essentially TA made as a super-concentrated extract using PG rather than alcohol as a base carrier). That's not meant as a slam, by the way, but such a relatively blunt use of TE is something of an acquired taste. For hard-core NET fans, though, RYO is worth checking out. I like RYO a lot in small doses.

I've added all three of Mom&Pop's RY flavorings to The Big List's all-in-one RY4 pre-mixed DIY flavorings page for the next update.

By the way I ordered from both chinese sites... on the eCig Online Shop there were two brands so I picked them both. On VaporBreak I picked the only available, aka Hangsen. Three of them 18 mg.

I wonder has anybody tried any cool RY4 at 0 mg? Does it feel the same?
I know the "idea" was to cut back nicotine, although I've been sitting at 18 mg and it's only been a few months since vaping adventure started, but I wonder for the future, what it might hold at lower concentration levels.

Everyone's different. What I'll offer is only my personal experience and attitude. Nicotine content affects both flavor and the overall experience of vaping. For me, zero-nic vaping is just plain lousy. Flavor? Yeah, sort of, but no punch. It's like the juice is dead. If I had to go zero-nic, I'm not sure that vaping would remain worth doing for me. On the other hand, I have friends and colleagues here on ECF who vape 6mg exclusively and enjoy it. I'm happy for them, but I feel no compunction to go there.

Many vapers would like to reduce their nicotine intake or get off nicotine entirely. Many others don't feel that way. I'm in the latter group. Of course I'm thrilled to no longer be taking in the hundreds of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), tars, and toxins in cigarette smoke. I can breathe freely after 40 years, thank you very much. No more coughing, hacking, ashes, and burn holes. No more being a social pariah.

Am I addicted to nicotine? Probably. It is, after all, one of the most addictive substances known. Am I worried about it? No. I have other health concerns that far outweigh nicotine, to the point that I don't worry about my nicotine intake at all.

I've been vaping for almost three years, mostly at 24mg nic. I've enjoyed it immensely. These days I often vape 18mg. Not because I believe or feel that I "should" reduce my nicotine, but because I get ample satisfaction and pleasure without the need for quite as much throat hit and stimulation. If that stops being the case, I'll go back up to 24mg. Or maybe I'll continue down to 12mg eventually. Wherever I head, it'll be because it maximizes my happiness with vaping.

Each vaper decides for him/herself what to do vis-a-vis nicotine.

Yep yep yep on the last two posts. Nic is the salt (that tastes like pepper lol) of nic juice, brings out the flavors. However, like switching to a low salt diet, my guess is one becomes accustomed to it. If I vape a juice with much higher nic than I'm used to it's like it's over-seasoned, and I only notice the peppery nic until I adjust.

I'm sure it's much easier to adjust to low nic than zero nic when it comes to flavor. No-nic just seems SO flavorless to me, but maybe that changes with time. I don't know, I enjoy the effects of nicotine, so no desire to go no nic. I'm also won't touch a cup of decaf coffee and rarely drink pop that doesn't contain caffeine.

Yes, that too! Sometimes people ask how to get TH with no-nic juice. Short answer.. you can't.

0.3-ohm dual-coil setup tickles many throats. :p I don't do it all the time, but I honestly find 0mg juice satisfying using that setup. It really depends on my mood though. I'll vape anywhere from 0mg to 12mg depending on the time of day, mood, sleeping patterns, etc.

Haha, that's what I've suggested to 0mg vapers who are wanting throat hit (well, not .3 ohm, but a highe vapor set-up). Can't get the hit nic provides, but volume of vapor may provide a full feeling that satisfies.

Sub-ohm vapers are like surfers in Hawaii who love those monster 30-foot waves, or race-car drivers who think nothing of 200mph, or maybe folks at a pie-eating contest who devour ten pies in two minutes. LOL.

Who says you need to be in a contest to devour 10 pies in two minutes? Lol........... I just really like pie.

I'm an ohm vaper, bordering on sub-ohm, (currant coil at 0.99 ohms lol) with 28ga Kanthal. No ultra low vaping for me though. Any hotter and I would need to make bigger air-holes and lung hit it.... no thanks.

I'd go with the last one. The first two gives them way to much credit
