Yeah, I did. It was quite a while ago and I didn't order any more, so obviously it didn't do it for me. At the time I was looking for something close to the original and that didn't do it. Not saying it was bad, just not what I was looking for. I do remember it was better than some real strong RY4's I had tried.

I finally settled in on Janty's RY4 as the closes but not quite as good as the original. It is good, however, in my subjective opinion. I would put it in the "subtle" category.

Thanks WV, I actually got a bottle of MFS RY4 today... At first I wasn't sure, but, the more and more i vaped it it seemed like the taste adapted to my taste buds ( or vice versa)! Now, I cannot put it down... Goes excellent with beer too! :D

I highly recommend Bill to put this one on his sample list!! :thumb:

Great review chart for the RY4s but after getting dizzy thinking about all the RY4s and the listings in your review, I still dont know which one to lock in on....Go for nutty?...or how bout sweeter...or deep dark...or lively or vanilla....hey wow guess we need one of each to decide which are our top ten favorites in the RY4 race.

Well I vaped 30 mils of BWB RY4. I must admit it got better towards the end but I'm not overly impressed. I tried VR4 and the organic and wasn't real impressed there either. I really want to like this stuff; I'm going to go with the quicknic recommendation maybe ikv also and if I don't get totally wowed I'll assume RY4 is not for me. I like tobacco flavors exclusively being very fond of boba's bounty, BWB 555 (Favorite) and other heavy flavored tobaccos. Just sayin' Shut up and vape Sam.

The Quick nic is very good around day 10+. It is sweeter than many. Alot of caramel. Really woody tobacco. mmmm. Don't forget to use the coupon 15off for 15% off. 15ml glass bottle shipped = under $10. But you should try their Root Beer Float, Apple Pie or French Toast, too.

I am still waiting on BWB. I got it Tuesday. May try it in a few days. Most people say to give it at least two weeks. Malty is pretty good. Casablanca and Applewood still my favorites.

The OzarkFresh is starting to come alive. Not quite there yet. Kinda has a USA tobacco taste. A little dry. Very close to Joogler's Blend. I waited 11 days for it to get here, and it is on day 10, so 21 days from order. IF you order, they send a free Muskadine. That stuff is good. Kinda like Welsh's Grape. Really dark purple juice. Might have to get an 18ml of that!

What would really be awesome, is a price plus shipping list. Oh, and don't forget to look up coupon codes for each of the 30 vendors. Did I actually hear billherbst scream? Must have been my imagination.

hangdude,

That would be awesome. And fat chance. Between taking on all that work and poking my eye out with sharp stick, guess which one is more likely?

Another advantage to the Janty RY4 (other than being close to the original RY4) is there is none of this "so-called" steeping which to me is a "load". It is at it's best as soon as you recieve it. If a supplier wants my business, then they need to send the liquid ready to vape. I shouldn't have to do their job for them.

I kind of agree with that, but Janty I am almost sure of is a dekang based juice as is Ikenvape(not saying its all dekang made but the base sure taste like it). You can order them all day long in tons of flavors from madvapes, ready to vape out of the mailbox.

I don't mind steeping a juice because it is complex with lots of flavors and tobacco extracts like BWB juices are. You just have to plan ahead and you always know your getting a fresh product that only you decide the age of. Once I find my 3-4 fav BWB flavors I like the most I will simply just order 2 30ml bottles of each and reorder when I am down to 1 bottle. Can't do that with the RY4 so that is more of just a treat when I can get my hands on it.

Oh and got my hands on some Ejoker and WOW what a juice, cant vape it all day but man oh man something about that is unique and very refreshing. It hasn't even steeped yet, I cant even imagine what it might taste like in 2 weeks but its really good right now.:)

I'm not sure if it is DeKang or the group that broke off from DeKang, but I agree that it is a Chinese liquid. I think bill's reveiw and ranking did a good job on describing and ranking Janty's RY4. The "original" for my taste, is still the best and Janty's is the closes I've found to the original.

update:
Quick Nic & BWB are both improving but not quite there yet.. At least QN is tolerable enough to vape at this point.
Tried Liquidxpress Taboo from the last few drops of a sampler and I wasn't so impressed.. but not disgusted either.. it might deserve reconsideration and a proper clean atty..
Ikenvape PG was great from the moment i received it...
though I like Vaperite's VR4 best...

Before posting this i started dripping BWB again and wow.. didn't i try this a few hours ago??? so much for constancy of taste (buds)... but i'm LOVING it now!!

fwiw, i'll share my current rankings:

1. VapeRite VR4 26mg (delightful, deep caramel that resonates stunningly with their tobacco's very own caramel highlights)
2. BWB RY4 24mg gaining momentum fast! Could this just be a case of late-night sillies?
3. Ikenvape RY4 PG 24mg straight-up great...
4. Quick Nic's RY4 24mg improving slowly... it's definitely not bad...just not ready for me
5. Liquidxpress Taboo 18mg not bad, though might ask for a sample from the store.

Ozark Fresh isn't making it easy to consider them as a viable vendor for future purchases or to consider their Kentucky Burley RY4 as a serious contender.. no tracking number, no reply to my emails.. A friend recently tried their ry4 and referred to it as garbage.. or was that trash? i'm not holding my breath for this one.

dripping a 3rd time with bwb.. How long am i supposed to give his RY4 before it peaks? Does it get better than this?
Curiouser and curiouser..

While I have not tried my ry4 from bwb yet its about 1 week old now, I have found for me,with their other juices(tobacco flavors only) that I vape, the taste stops changing and stays the same around the 3rd week.

YMMV

So while vaping on my RY4 all day I noticed that after awhile I get this kinda blah flavor on the back of my tongue and the vape doesn't taste the same. Is that just from to much of one kind of flavor or us it a byproduct of my still reviving taste buds?

I think most of us experience that. I know I do, especially with all the comparison tasting I've done on this RY4 thread. Taste-bud-burn-out. Less to do with reviving from smoking than regular old garden-variety flavor fatigue.

Halo is a vendor that has built its reputation on a single word: Purity. Even the labels on its blue-glass white-topped dropper bottles state that plainly: "Halo Purity."

Halo makes and sells an exclusive and limited line of tobacco juices (no fruit or dessert flavors), and all their juices (or at least the three that I've tried) use the same distinctive base, a formulation marked by a unique tone---something more than a smell but less than a distinct flavor, almost more of an aura. Numerous vendors have a "signature" base---KickBassVapor comes to mind as an example. In itself, that is neither good nor bad. With Halo, however, vapers tend either to like or dislike that signature (I can't remember reading a post about Halo that was neutral), sometimes to the extremes of love or hate. Halo's "purity" is directly tied to this tone or aura, but---to some people---the implied flavor is reminiscent more of medicinal disinfectant (or even insecticide) than any affirmation of purity. Thus, the divided reactions.

Tribeca is Halo's recent entry into the RY4 sweepstakes. And it definitely belongs on the Big List of RY4s, because it uses the components of tobacco, caramel, and vanilla in a classic recipe. Taken by themselves, those flavors are deliciously well-blended in Tribeca.

The issue with Tribeca surrounds that signature Halo base tone, and it is here that judgment pro or con will occur for most people. Does Tribeca seduce you with its lovely RY4 components of yummy caramel and vanilla, whispering to your brain about the extra-special purity of its tobacco goodness? Or are Tribeca's RY4 flavors rendered moot and irrelevant as it smacks you with the subtle but unpleasant overtones of that nasty sick-room disinfectant taste?

Many people will say, "Ooh, yummy and pure! How wonderful!" I am not one of them. What I find myself saying is: "Damn, it's that same bug spray as in Torque 56 and Freedom! What a shame."

Am I a hardened, dyed-in-the-wool non-fan of Halo and Tribeca? No, not at all. I even think some chance exists that I might come around to appreciate Halo's juices as my taste buds adapt to that signature aura. Perhaps purity will eventually win out over bug spray. In good conscience, however, I cannot rank Tribeca as if that transformation had already occurred, since it hasn't and may not. As a result, Tribeca's ranking in my numerical list won't be high. But please understand that this could change over time.

You may love Tribeca. I didn't---at least not yet.

(Many thanks to sweetpuff for sending me a sample of Tribeca for this review. Tribeca's ranking and groupings appear below in a separate post.)

When I started this thread initially, the first rankings list was all vendors' juices except one: GoodEJuice's RY4. I had bought the RY4 concentrate that GoodEJuice sells, assuming that it was the same components and formulation that Nick, the owner of GoodEJuice, used to make his in-house juices. So, it was the one DIY RY4 that I included in the rankings, and it didn't fare too well.

Recently, Nick PM'd me to explain that the flavor concentrate was a pre-mix from his flavor supplier and not what he uses to fresh-mix his in-house RY4. He asked me to review his custom-made juice and later mailed me a 10ml sample bottle.

Nick is a very conscientious vendor. Here's a story worth sharing that testifies to his outstanding customer service: Some months ago, I bought a 30ml bottle of Nick's Tuscan Reserve cigar juice. When he changed the formula later, Nick mailed me a 15ml bottle of the new Tuscan formula---out-of-the-blue and for free---with a note saying that he didn't want me to vape anything less than his best efforts. Now, that's customer service.

My only quibble here is that I wish vendors would tell us when the flavor concentrates they sell are not the same as their mixed juices with the same names. Some vendors list concentrates by supplier---Lorann, Perfumer's Apprentice, FlavourArt, Capella, etc. But if they don't define the concentrate's source, how do we know what we're getting? We don't, and I don't like buying a pig in a poke.

All right, how is Nick's in-house, custom-mixed, freshly-made RY4? First off, it is indeed much better to my palate than the apparently generic RY4 flavor concentrate I reviewed initially. A week of steeping has helped its flavors to develop considerably. As a fresh-mixed-to-order juice, it was restrained and muted upon arrival, but now the flavors have bloomed and intensified. Deep rather than bright, this is an RY4 with some paradoxes: the tobacco presence is strong and central, but it's also caramel-rich, and thus sweeter than some. Despite having those distinct flavors, my overall impression is that of a well-blended harmony.

Is GoodEJuice RY4 superlative? No, not to my taste, but it is good. I like it better each day and now feel that, with more maturity, this is a very enjoyable RY4. The problem, however, is that "good" and "enjoyable" don't get a juice very far on this list, not with all the truly amazing juices clustered in the top half of the rankings. I don't feel that GoodEJuice trumps any of those, so it lands at #19, right between the two VaporStation offerings.

Please don't write it off, though. Like all of the Top 20 RY4s in this list, GoodEJuice RY4 is well worth having in your juice stash.

(Many thanks to Nick at GoodEJuice for providing me with a sample for review. He's definitely one of the good guys.)

Once again thanks for the reviews Bill.

It doesn't matter, good, neutral or bad, you give such a great unbiased description that folks can say "hey he hated or loved it and that is the taste I am looking for" they can roll with it. I feel that is the main purpose of this thread and I am glad you stick with it.

On a side note, I broke down and tasted the BWB RY4 in a Cisco 1.8 ohm atty today, and it tasted like nothing to me as I suspected(the juice is just to complex to come together that quick). Going to let it steep some more, man it smells so good :)

As always thanks Bill *cheers*
