Void Mist calls itself "Your e-liquid Deli." VM sells no hardware, only juice and DIY supplies. The e-liquids are fresh mixed on site, often in custom recipes apparently, and customers can specify their own personal mixes of flavorings. VM also offers frequent coupon sales with major discounts of up to 60% off, and very inexpensive big bottles of high-density unflavored nicotine (60mg/ml) in any mix of PG and VG.
I'm of two minds about Void Mist. On the one hand, I appreciate the frequent sales with deep discounts and have purchased many of their juices at bargain prices. I'm scornful of vendors who make a big deal out of 10% off sales, especially if their prices seem elevated in the first place. So, VM earns kudos for affordability.
On the other hand, the names of some of their juices give no clue as to their flavors, which always aggravates me. What the hell is VM Tobacco 01, with a product description that says no more than "Nice juice with nice aroma." Come on, VM, you don't really expect me to buy that juice, do you? Also, anyone who's read my reviews knows that I tend to dislike vendor-specific "signature" base flavors. All of Void Mist's juices share a distinctly similar base tone, which disappoints me, both as a general practice and in particular here as a specific background taste.
Void Mist is the only vendor I know that sells three different RY4s. A couple of other vendors sell RY1 through RY4, but only VM offers RY4 in three versions---in their typically cryptic naming convention, called RY4 VM Version 1, Version 2, and Version 3, but with no description of what each one tastes like or what makes them different.
When I did the original RY4 list with mini-reviews in the first post of this thread three months ago, Void Mist RY4 was included. That was before the other versions appeared at Void Mist's site, so I assume that juice to be the same as what is now offered as RY4 VM Version 1. Back then, I wasn't impressed with VM RY4 and gave it a correspondingly low ranking. In the current revised rankings, it's mired near the bottom of the Big List at #38 out of 42.
Now I've taste-tested Versions 2 and 3 and revisited Version 1 (all of which I purchased at 18mg nic strength in a 70/30 PG/VG blend, with extra flavor) by dripping into a Joye 1.5 ohm atty powered by 4.0 volts for 10 watts of oomph.
What do they taste like? I'm inclined to say that since Void Mist doesn't tell us, I won't either, but that would be unfair to readers. In the simplest terms, Version 1 is more caramel-rich, Version 2 has a stronger tobacco, and Version 3 has more vanilla. Or something like that. All three qualify as sweet dessert RY4s, with Version 2 being the least sweet of the trio.
How different are they? In liquid color, V1 is very dark brown, V2 is a deep caramel, but lighter than V!, and V3 is a medium caramel color, and lightest of all three. The flavors from one to another are different enough to be noticeable, but not distinct enough to mask their very similar pedigrees. These are all clearly pups from the same litter, more alike to each other than they are to any other vendor's RY4.
And finally, how good are they? To my palate, not very. OK, they're passable RY4s, but that's not saying much. I'm sufficiently unimpressed to leave them grouped together on the Rankings List without any change---still #38---although I will revise the Category Groups at the next update to reflect the three versions.
I wish they were better, since Void Mist is obviously trying hard, and I'd much prefer to give all such good vendors a supportive boost. Unfortunately, these RY4 triplets are in need of some remedial special ed. They could benefit by learning a thing or two from other RY4s.
