Below is a list of my "daily juices"---the liquids I currently vape every day or nearly so, along with the vendors who sell them---my personal "Top 40" or thereabouts. I post this in the hope that knowing what juices I like in general (outside the specific realm of RY4s) might give people who read this thread a better idea of the warp and woof of my particular palate, to more accurately assess the RY4 rankings for themselves. Obviously, my rankings are more useful if your tastes and mine lean in a similar direction. Conversely, the rankings are probably bogus for you if our preferences in juice differ markedly.

Like the Big RY4 List Rankings, this little herd of daily vapes changes often. I'm going through a "coffee phase" right now, so the list has seven coffee juices. Two months ago that number was only two. Next month it might be down to four or even two again. Three juices I vape daily are RY4-variants that also appear on the Big RY4 List.

No individual rankings here, just groups by type listed alphabetically. "DIY" after a vendor's name means that I buy the vendor's custom flavoring concentrate for that specific juice and mix it myself with nic liquid and PG/VG. "DIY" with no vendor means I make it from scratch, using flavors from any of the common suppliers (Perfumer's Apprentice, LorAnn, Capella, etc.).

Tobacco
10Forty (mom&popvaporshop)
Black and Tan (cloudsofvapor)
Boba's Bounty (alienvisions)

Billherbst I like this list of your "daily juices"..I will be trying some of these..I bet you are tired of rating things by now.
BUT if you you had to pick your very TOP TOP picks from these 3 categories what would they be??
The only one I have tried is Frisco (vaporstation) on your recommendation a while ago,I like it a lot.
I just do not have the money to try every thing. Thanks

fforest,

Sure. Happy to do so (because it's easy). The winners are:

Tobacco: Bounty Hunter (NiteLiteVapor)---by a mile. My #1 all-time favorite juice in any category. The recently deceased and now lamented Vape TV VG version (95%VG) of Bounty Hunter was the best, but the 65/35 PG/VG blend regular version is still fantastic and sporadically available when Gene can keep it in stock for more than an hour (buy a lot whenever you can). Also wins Most Addictively Satisfying Juice Award.

Coffee: Café Mocha (BackwoodsBrew)---unavailable and apparently not coming back, so instead... (tie) Capparillo Café Latte from NiteLiteVapor and Coffee from CopperCreek.

Sweet Mixer: Crème Brûlée (Want2Vape)---mostly ethyl maltol with just a hint of caramel. Improves any juice that needs a bit of sweetening or softening.

Dessert: St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake (Vape-a-licious)---amazing. To die for.

Fruit: Strawberry (PrimeVaping)---tastes like wild strawberries at the peak of ripeness picked and eaten right off the vine---tart and sweet, but not too much of either.

Note: I'm currently having a love affair with Organic Kona Coffee Milkshake (VirginVapor), but it's too new to be a favorite for sure yet. Takes time to know whether a yummy new juice is just a one-night stand or a viable long-term relationship.

As a newbie I appreciate your extensive reviews/thread very much. I'm curious though: without going through all 89 pages here (which I'll probably get to at some point), I noticed that BackwoodsBrew RY4 dropped from top billing on page 1 to number 21 on this last page. Is that entirely due to new juices you tried in the interim or is there some issue/change in their recipe?

I know bill will answer you in short order, but he kind of fell out of love with BWB's flavors. That said, the whole top thirty (even more) are very good (to him). Some of my favorites are in the bottom 20. I really like Joogler and Top Shelf and KBV.

What you need to go by is what you like in a RY4. Do you like heavy caramel? Do you prefer a sweet vanilla? Or are you looking for a rich tobacco? The ratings would be different for any two vapers, and often the same vaper on different days.

Use the ratings as a guide. They are written in pencil.

Sa Da Tay,

thehangdude understands and has it exactly right. I started out ranking RY4s on a whim, but fairly early on decided that any ranking list was essentially bogus, so I switched to the Group Categories. Some folks really liked the rankings, however---you know, the drama of a beauty pageant or horse race as to who will win, come in second, etc.---and asked me to keep them, so I've continued to use both systems---rankings and categories. Even I don't agree with my own early rankings, however, since my tastes change over time. The group categories are much more reliable as a guide to what you might buy. Shoot, I've read posts on ECF by people who love oRYental 4, which I personally regard as dreadful swill and have placed dead last. Are those people wrong? Nope. It's all personal preference---the only person you have to please is yourself. If you like a certain juice, then it's a winner.

As for BWB RY4, it was #1 on the original list for two reasons: 1. my fond history with it (BWB RY4 was my favorite juice for about the first six months of my vaping), and 2. its overwhelming popularity. The fact that you couldn't even buy it most of the time and that it would sell out on the BWB site within hours of being restocked was proof of that. As the Big RY4 Roundup thread went on, however, the rankings were based more and more on my palate, rather than on my estimation of a juice's popularity. These days I rank RY4s based entirely on my own reaction.

As those changes in my approach to the rankings gradually occurred, I discovered that I wasn't as thrilled by BWB RY4 as I had been last year. In addition, "new" RY4s that I liked better kept being added to the list. So, BWB has steadily declined in the rankings. Now it's #21, but so what? If you love it, it's #1 on your list.

I attribute the end of my search for an RY4 I could vape all day to billherbst (almost gave up). I'm not found of sweet vapes and wanted a tobacco flavor; Ikenvape RY4 gold fit the bill perfectly. I tried 3 others in the same catagory when IKV's site went down and thought them to be just meh. I really hate buying juice just to try out but also hate having all my eggs in one, or two baskets so to speak. I've got a 250 ml erlinmeyer flask full of different RY4's I've bought and ended up dumping into it. One day that flask may taste like an all day vape and I'll be set for awhile. An original juice that cannot be duplicated because I don't remember all the crap I put in it.

I am so surprised that My Freedom Smokes is not on the list (not My freedom smokes usa) They have been my go to place for RY4 for almost 2 years. IMHO the best. They might have been mentioned but I did not see them.

Give us your review on them. It may cause us to try them out. Is it nutty? more caramel? sweet? Which other one does it compare to (if you've had any similar flavors)?

I am so surprised that My Freedom Smokes is not on the list.

Someone really needs to put greenhouseones ry4 on the list.

Eric and Str8V8ping,

Look guys, there are a zillion RY4s out there. Almost every vendor sells one. I can't afford to buy and review all of them just so you can see your favorite RY4 on the list.

Here's how it works: The Big List (with rankings) is mine. To get on it, I have to review and rank a specific RY4 or RY4-variant. If you really want to see a specific RY4 on the list, mail me a small sample bottle of it. My home address has been posted on the thread, but you can also PM me to get it. I will then review the sample and add it to the list with my personal ranking. In addition, I'll include it in whatever Category Groups I think apply.

The Category Groups are public. If you like a particular RY4, please post a review of it on this thread. Then PM me with the Category Groups that you feel apply for that juice. I'll add it under the relevant categories.

E-Liquid 50ML 26MG

Anybody know if Rocky Mountain Vapor is any good? Is it DeKang?
They got in some 26mg juice in 10ml and 50ml. The 50ml are $15 with free shipping.
They have RY4, so I was wondering.

10 ml... 50 ml... price... and from the names of the other juice on the site it seems Dekang (or at least from China)

Here is some GP4 from Good Prophets. 10ml of 12mg or 24mg for only $1.49 (cheap shipping too). Anybody tried this?

hangdude,

Funny you should mention that sale. I just ordered 3 flavors of the new GP all-VG made-in-USA tobaccos---GP-TAB, Tobacco, and GP4. I even went funny in the head and ordered three 10ml bottles of the GP4. Go figure. So, I'll be reviewing it and will add it to the Rankings/Categories list.

The other weird thing that's been happening is that I like the RY4 from Mom&PopVaporShop so much that I've been vaping it every day. Jeez, what a great dessert RY4! The Tobacco Absolute cedar-woody base counterbalances the sweetness (is there a hint of maple in there too?) very nicely and makes the juice sing to my taste buds. That got me to wondering what other RY4s might be similar, and I thought, "Dulcis." Since I keep about half the RY4s on the Big List loaded into dual-coil, resurrector, or Boge LR cartos for comparison testing, I got out the Dulcis dual-coil and vaped some. My reaction was, "No, this isn't really like Mom&Pop RY4, it's a sweeter version of the Chinese-style RY4s, but boy, I forgot how good Dulcis is!"

Now I'm vaping both.

Might other RY4s worm their way back into my daily vapes? I think I'll test-vape many of the RY4s from the bottom half of the list. Who knows? The Rankings might be in for a major reshuffling (or maybe not...). Time will tell.
