1. Not really. The desktop at Rancho Scarf-ace still runs Windows XP for Pete's sake:?:
2. Oh HELL yes.
3. As the owner of two $100+ mods, I guess so.
4. Sometimes. i like reading about new and shiny stuff, but I won't be camping out at the Apple store overnight so I can be the first to get the newest Iwhatever 5.6, either.

Okay I just p___ in my p____. Thanks a lot.

Bill, Thanks for sending me the Bauway/TPA RY4.

It is so far nothing like anything I have had before. Kind of like a tobacco perfume.

I think I'll let it steep a bit before I do a review.

As I wrote earlier, the Bauway RY4 by itself is almost a dead ringer for the Halo signature "purity" base tone I've tasted in Torque 56, Freedom, and Tribeca.

Mixed with the TPA RY4 Double, what I noticed was a diminishing of the "solvent" off-taste with an increase in caramel and vanilla. "Perfume" hadn't occurred to me (I guess because I usually associate perfume with floral-tasting in vaping liquids), but perhaps that's a more accurate adjective to describe the concoction.

I knew it was odd. Now I'm sure of it. By all means, toss it if you wish. Or let it steep and try some again in a month. Whatever.

Thanks for the reality check.

Bill and Hang, would you guys say that perfumey solvent taste is similar to Highbrow Vapers' RY4 and NLV's Litehouse?

BTW, I couldn't remember the name Litehouse, so I went over to NLV's site to check. Their credit card processing account has been terminated.

Sandy,

They're not similar to me. I know what you're talking about with HB RY4 and NLV Litehouse, but whatever those flavors are, they're different to me than the signature Halo "purity" thing, or, at least, whatever it was in the Torque 56, Freedom, and Tribeca I had (the free bottle of Turkish I just got from Halo doesn't have it) that I associated with the "purity" base. When fresh (and strong), the Halo/Bauway taste is reminiscent to me of the smell of hospital disinfectant. Obviously, many other people do not taste it that way, and not only don't mind it, but actually like it.

Do you like the Turkish? The Tribeca is kinda growing on me. Still tastes very Dekangish.

Do you like the Turkish?

I've vaped it for only about five minutes, but my first impressions were very good, which is a bit of a surprise. I expected at least some of the "solvent" overtone, but it was absent. Turkish is a light and smooth tobacco. It's my favorite among all the vaping translations of the many tobacco varietals. I have about seven different Turkish Blends (excluding Camel---these are straight Turkish), and the Halo is slightly sweeter than most of the others.

My favorite until now had been Aroma Turkish Blend (without WTA). I don't think Halo Turkish will challenge that, but time will tell.

I usually only vape one or two flavors in a day (unless I am testing new ones). Haze is always there, but I often have another flavor for variety. Lately that flavor has been Tribeca. Now that the "base" has dissipated, I am enjoying the clean blend. The trio of flavorings seem to be merge into one nicely.

Tribeca does lean to the Chinese type of RY4, but I think this thread has changed my view on them. I have started to appreciate the higher notes of the sweetened ejuices. Apollo's RY4 started it for me. Now Tribeca. I guess I will have to try iken RY4 and a few of the others soon.

As for Bill's Blend, I have decapped it and stored it in the steeping closet. I shall give it every chance, but don't quit your day job Bill.

dude,

Count yourself lucky that I didn't send you any of the Bauway RY4 by itself. LOL.

I've concluded that this whole thing was just an episode of temporary insanity. I'm about to pour the whole shebang down the drain---40mls of various lousy blends and the 40mls remaining of the original and stupefyingly bad Bauway RY4 are headed for the sewage treatment plant, to be joined when the package arrives with the additional 60mls I ordered during my hiatus from reality. Hey, live and learn.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...

I see that nobody has reviewed Pink Spot RY8 since waaaay back last November. Here's my take, vaped at 18mg in a clear DCC on my Provari Mini:

I detect top notes of bright vanilla on the inhale followed by a body of vanilla, strong vanilla accents, and vanilla, capped off with a trace of sweet vanilla on the exhale.

Seriously, though, this is one vanilla-heavy RY4 (ya think?). If you've ever smelled top-quality vanilla essence or even split open a bean, you'll know that in addition to the cookie/custard warm sweetness we all know and love as vanilla, that real vanilla has some off-notes. Boozy, borderline rancid sometimes, a stale spiciness, or even a potpourri-like dried flower note. This is the complicated nature of vanilla, which is why so many companies use the artificial stuff: it's easier to control but also less dimensional.

I am guessing that Pink Spot uses lots of real vanilla in PS8. The reason? This is one of the darkest brown E-liquids I've ever tried: a tarry, nearly opaque liquid that when shaken, clings to the bottle for a good two seconds. Natural vanilla is brown, and when added to things makes them turn brown as well. The darkish tobacco has a tart clean "twist" of sourness at the end but I don't think it's a natural tobacco extract. Also at the end of the exhale is what little caramel is included for the sake of calling it an RY4. It's there, but it's minimal. This is all about vanilla unadorned, the good and the bad, the sweetness and the bitterness.

This was one of the first liquids I ordered in my vaping journey nearly 8 months(!!) ago and I have reordered it consistently along with its companion, Swagger (similar to RY8, but more so, possibly including hazelnut and coffee). Pink Spot is famous for fruity cocktail-like flavours but they aren't really my thing. These two are keepers and I vape them often. PS is also renowned for their friendly service (and their side-splittingly funny Facebook page).

My late mother used to watch me spoon heaps of Parmesan onto my pasta and comment,"want a little spaghetti with that cheese?" If you want a little tobacco and caramel with your vanilla E-liquid, do try RY8. It won't be for everyone, but I don't think you'll regret trying it.

Hangdude, I can relate to your Apollo experience - I too am now liking the Chinese"ish" notes more than before. Not sure I am ready to jump in and start vaping DeKang or other Chinese liquids but am closer than before trying Apollo. I liked my 12ml bottle so much, I had to order a 30ml bottle.

I do not vape a lot of different juices in a day either, but more than a couple. Probably 4- 6 a day and most of those are RY4's. What is "Haze"? I need to add something other than an RY4 into my rotation and am curious what this is.

On Target, Haze is Mom & Pop Vapor Shop's best seller. It is unique. I get a nutty cookie tobacco out of it. If you do order it, give it about five days steeping. It will get a reddish tint when it is ready. Try their RY4v2 if you order (or go for the tobacco sampler). RY4v2 is a American blend that has that creamy caramel many people love in their RY4.

I bet all the great vape juices were the result of 999 nasty ones and that one that was perfection.

Thanks Dude. I have tried both RY4's from Mom & Pops. They are good but not among my favorites, a little more sweet than I prefer. I will have to try Haze, it sounds interesting as do the reviews on M&P's web site.

I liked Tobacco Haze for a week or two, then it seemed a little harsh. It is for people who like a good strong throat hit.

Sandy, I bet you're right, Thomas Edison as I recall said

Great review, thanks Scarfy. What other Pink Spots do you like?

If you are into 555s, their Outlaw is a great one with the same deep dark feel to it. The Honey Tobacco is a little lighter and is like a richer version of AVE Flue Cured. Pinkspot and Lemon Drop come highly praised on YouTube but to me they smell exactly like the stuff I use to clean my bathroom:blink: I did not care for their Blueberry Cheesecake.

When I was a vaping infant last February, I was told about PS by a very nice fellow who works at the Verizon store on Broadway between 91 and 92 street in New York City. I can't remember his name, and I don't know if he reads these forums, but thanks for the tip:toast:

One last thing: Pink Spot uses, praise deities, WATERPROOF LABELS which resist drips very well.

If you are liking "Chinese"-style (aka lighter/brighter) more, do try and get your hands on some Want2Vape Rock Star. You might enjoy that.
