Ive neve try ahlusion liquids i think, probably because its just to much bs to order in that shop, if you still have some try exhale couple of time through the nose and then inhale slow.

This seems to me one of the weirder unintended consequences of ECF. Because of this forum (and other forums as well, although primarily ECF is the main cause), we have this odd phenomenon of juice vendors who are overwhelmed---victims of their own success. This sets up a nasty conflict between vapers, who---as typical modern consumers---understandably assume they should be able to order whatever they want whenever they want, and vendors such as AVE, NLV, Ahlusion, and others, which have had to resort to limited hours, restricted ordering quantities, and other draconian measures just to keep from being overwhelmed by the onslaught of orders.

I sympathize with both sides. I, too, tend to refuse ordering from vendors who make the process too difficult for my liking, yet I understand why those vendors have to put some bottleneck in the flow to slow down the flood. Nobody wins. Not the vapers, nor the vendors, and not even the forums.

Jerms,

I was hoping you might weigh in on this one, since I'm pretty sure that between the NET folks and the RY4 people, very few have tried Gold Rising.

Whoops. That wasn't me you were quoting, Bill. I haven't had Gold Rising yet, but it's high up on my list to try.

Oops. My bad. And my apologies to On Target. I value your input, OT, it's just that I'm brain-damaged.

OK, I fixed the mistaken attribution on my former post.

I wish I could claim ownership of that post because 1; it was well thought out and well written (hence why I "liked" it) and 2; it would mean I had a bottle of GR on me

Ok I have some news :D I sent a simple email to Ahlusion and ask...."I have one questions for you please, does Gold Rising have caraml and vanilla in it?" just as I thought I got this reply.....

"Hi Roy,

RY4 is not supposed to have either; ours doesn’t at least. There were many remakes of the original RY4 and most were simply butchered up versions of the original which definitely did not have caramel or vanilla."

So this tells me 2 things someone does not know what they are talking about at all or they just not use caramel and vanilla in their RY4s....So it really seems they live in a RY4 that is different from ours, so is this a RY4 ???? To them it is because it was their own RY4 but to us this would not be a RY4 as we know one to be!!! To me this is just a juice trying to take over the crown and if they want to call it a RY4 they have that right plus I would give them high marks for the name Gold Rising a really nice try, but guess what its good but NOT THAT GOOD!!!!:p

So here is some news from across the pond over at the Liquidxpress Rob says this "We have been around since the mythical days of the original "RY4" and we think we have found a way to recreate it. When we had to re-engineer taboo, we really wanted to make it closer to the original RY4."

So it looks like he brought back his very first orginal recipe for Taboo . I have not got to try it yet will have plans to soon.

that's good news. i used to love Taboo back in 09, but something went wrong with their recipe and it never tasted the same.

bill, don't be scared off by the CAS#'s research. it is very handy to find what each chemical in a recipe is as far as flavor, and then you can use PA flavors, or whatever vendor you like to mix up your own ;-)

Wow. It's almost like magic. We've had two topics in discussion on the thread over the past day or two. One was the Gold Rising trial, the other was the question of the "original" RY4 coming up again. And now both topics are revealed as one. Spooky.

I wonder if the "original RY4" referred to in the Ahlusion email is the same as the Ruyan 4 mentioned by the moderator of the AussieVapers forum, which was supposedly one of the first four commercial eliquids ever produced, but "nothing like the RY4s made today."

It's like we've fallen into a black hole of dark matter, had our molecules rearranged, and have come out the other side into a contra-parallel universe, where RY4 has no caramel or vanilla. Passerbyeus to Ahlusion: "Is Gold Rising an RY4?" Ahlusion to Passerbyeus: "Yes, absolutely! But not like any RY4 on your planet."

It appears that we may have to declare a mistrial, since the defendant has blown his brains out right in the courtroom.

Indeed im still im shock, cant wait to see how Bill takes this news.

I take it the same way I take most everything, with a HUGE grain of salt, as if it's just another in an endless series of Cosmic Jokes.

These days, I have pretty much no clue about who's telling the truth versus who's just making up stuff. LOL.

It seems like Ahlusion went the route of making an RY4 based on a very obscure idea about it's origins, instead of what just about everyone else understands an RY4 to be. I trust Ahlusion as a vendor and believe they are under the impression that the first original was more like a honey tobacco. Maybe they are right and maybe not, but I would like to know which exact brand they are referring to as the "original" that they base GR off of. Maybe they have inside info most don't know, or maybe they have been led in the wrong direction like most people who researches the origin of RY4 has at least a couple times.

One thing I can sa; if I had a restaurant and started selling Philly Cheesesteak, and I had the inside knowledge that the first real original was made with chicken and cheddar, I still wouldn't dare selling an "Original Philly Cheesesteak" to a customer and handing over a chicken sandwich. Either Ahlusion made a ballsy decision or are just wrong.

Well I've had 2 big disappointments this week. First, Vapor..... OuR-Y4 and now Ahlusion's Gold Rising. Neither one of these juices are even close to the RY4 I fell in love with in my early vaping career. OuR-Y4 is pretty much tasteless and Gold Rising is giving me more of a "peppery" nuance than anything else. Guess I'm gonna head on over to LiquidXpress and give their Taboo a shot. I loved Taboo when I first started vaping, but I have to try the VG version because pure PG juices break me out now for some reason. ::sigh::

And so it goes with juices. No amount of research, reading reviews, or even getting otherwise good advice from people whose palates we trust can guarantee that we'll like any particular juice. At times, yes, but just as often, no.

LiquidXpress Taboo is definitely worth a shot.

When I first read the email I was like what the h e double hockey sticks is this person talking about, I cant take that to the round table and I had to think about it for 5 mins lol

Skycamel still on the search for his long lost RY4 love....just makes me smile ...as you can see the RY4 world is full of many roads and dead ends but we love it so much we keep moving on....:vapor:

Wow, what a chain of events the past couple of days. I may have to revise my Ahlusion Gold Rising vote from just barely YES as an RY4 to a NO. Since they "blew their brains out" by stating there is no caramel or vanilla, how can it be an RY4? Those two elements are by OUR definition part of the holy trinity of being an RY4. Oh well, whatever Gold Rising is, I like it but now cannot comfortably tell myself I am vaping RY4 when enjoying it.

This only re-assures my initial impression having a similar profile to Prime Vaping's Love from Above. Not an RY4 but one I enjoy nontheless. My bottle of Gold Rising will not go to waste. Bill, I remember you making reference to a vanilla / NET tobacco juice from Ahulsion - what is it called? What is your impression of it? I know this is a little off topic but I really do like the NET tobacco in Gold Rising and I prefer an RY4 heavier on vanilla than caramel and think it might be worth my while to try it.

Ahlusion has a couple options for a vanilla NET. The first is Vecchio Blend, offered in the same non-aromatic line as Gold Rising. I haven't had it yet but the tobacco will probably be at around the same strength as GR. They also have Vurley in the aromatic line, which I have had and is amazing. It's a stronger tobacco as all in their aro line, but not as intense as others in that line. Vanilla beans are added with the tobacco during the extraction, and it's a fairly strong and tasty vanilla.
