How about some manly .030" diameter R41?
(Also known as Rene41 welding rod)
0.23 ohms micro coil.
At 35 watts it's too much for this guy, any lower and heat lag is significant.

I've changed my technique for wrapping R41 in the past month, usual heating and de-tempering, but not overly so. Cut length of wire and held in variable speed drill with 2.2mm bit (reversed, with working end of bit and some wire in chuck), attached pin vise to free end and pulled TIGHT for first turn. Slowly ran drill while keeping significant, constant tension on wire. Compressed with tweezers while attaching to terminal screws or the grubs. I'm quite pleased with the results.

Chipotle.
Bumping this back up because Jacobs online has recently listed a new rene41, now in 28.5G as well as the original 27G. I'm personally waiting for something like a 24G to show up but I have my doubts that it ever will, I like a lot of things about rene41 but the small wire gauge doesn't fit my personal vaping preferences. I'm sure someone will gladly give the 28.5G a shot though, I feel like it could be a good contender for rebuilding long lasting Kanger/Aspire coil heads due to the high ohms/foot and smaller gauge.

FROM the website:

"0.018 (25 gauge) and
0.020 (24 gauge) also
available. Contact for prices."

This has been there. Anyone made the inquiry? Rene has been on my "to do list" for a spell now. I usually do things OCD style and just order a bunch of everything.

I've also been unable to track down the Rene welding rods. I'm sure its simply knowing the right terms to search on or what they are really called. Any help in that direction would be appreciated.

Thank you Mr Mundy. 'Preciate it.

I finally got my ECF searches to work correctly and found several of your other references for some sizing points, aerospace surplus references, etc. So thanks for those efforts as well as the pictures from times ago (among other works on here ofc).

I've seen some spools about (holy $$$, I dont want to become Jacobs). Just was hoping to find actual feed and or stick rod and such if possible. Size variants ... all that jazz.

I'm sure I'll come across it eventually if I dig around. May require some trips into the fabricators forums or something.

Cheers.
