Mornin REOville hope all are doing well. Has anyone heard from Tim? I had to take my 19 yr old kitty to the vet this morning. It's her time. She has been acting not herself for a few weeks, and the last 2 days she hasn't eaten at all. She is part Siamese, and this morning instead of her loud feed me now voice she just sat and mewed. I think she may have had a stroke or something, she was barely able to walk. The vet's office opened at 8, but the vet won't be in till 10:30, so I left her there, and will go back to be there with her at the end. She rode on my lap in the car and didn't fuss or holler at all, but I didn't want to upset her with another car trip. I hate this. Take care, later.

Huggs jeni. I'm so sorry. I lost 5 kitties in rapid succession in 2010 when the melamine came from china in our Science Diet food. All five went from total renal failure. I'm still not over it. My oldest Hobbes, was 23. Next was my Nikki who was 21. Then Tessie who was 15 and Mindy, 14. The youngest was only 8. Little One. Male. White with crystal blue eyes and stone deaf. My best friend in the world.Worse part was I opened the cans and poisoned them myself. If not for me they would all still be alive.

Tabitha was born after that bad food so she's unaffected. Come on when you get home from the vet please for some huggs.

I think you gave all off them tons of years of love that they might never have gotten. I see so many strays around and feel so bad for them. Wish I could take them all in.

I will when I wake up ..don't see the reducer tube though

Ohhhh mogi - Time to wake up. You probably won't need the reducer tube with BWB - at least I don't. Look again in the plastic bag with the extra bottle and the wee packet of the naolex. It's most likely hiding in there.

Breaking my heart about losing furry friends. I know how it hurts; so very much. We've always had youngsters around, or coming soon, when oldies travel over the rainbow bridge and, personally, that has helped us lot. I never did "get" waiting for a long time to fill the void left by losing a furry soul mate. The young'uns demand so much energy and love. Helps. BIG HUGS.

the only canned food oscar gets is his tuna he loves he is on a steady diet of meow mix tender centers he likes really well

Tuna is good for cats... Helps their digestive tract.. I usually give kyro and mila a little bit every few days. But other than that only grain free food for them!

Heres Mila and Kyro (Kyro is the orange one) Mila is my newest adoption

meow mix TC is the only food he will eat till the bowls empty most foods he starts pawing at the bowl with food still in it LOL he kicks the bowl around on the kitchen floor when he dont like it :D

When I had huge packs of Mastiffs, all different ages, and many on different foods because of age or work or showing conditioning they all ate in crates. After eating they had to stay crated for a couple of hours before being let out to play, be, exercise, work, or be their normal Wildlings. Many aggressively played with their SS bowls. Most of those bowls won't hold water. Amazing what they did to heavy SS bowls while keeping their teeth. The racket........ deafening!!!!! Thankfully they were in a pretty sound insulated area.

My Bubs (dogs) get Salmon based food every few weeks. (4 different foods we do one per week)(But been so busy lately they've had Salmon every week for over a month. Just picked up Duck this weekend.) Salmon is their favorite. Don't do it full time because of mercury in higher food chain fish. Avoid grains, too. Veggies over grains. There is some wheat in their Biskie Bones but they don't consume enough of those to really count and they have "guts" of steel so far. They get corn when we do taco chip showers on kitchen floor. Extra special treat.

Running off now. Loads more work to do. BIG HUGS FRIENDS.

Thank you all for the good vibes. I went back and was able to spend a little time with her before the Dr came in, she was ready. She was never a cuddly cat, but she rested against my chest while I held her, then the Dr came in and explained everything that would happen, I was with my cat Gus at the end, so had a good idea. The Dr was very sweet and gentle, and when they laid Star on her side, which she never would have let anyone do, she was calm and didn't fight it and I was able to rub her head while the Dr gave her the shot. I had a good cry and came back home, and I've had some tears off and on all day but I know it was her time and that my decision was the right one. It's kind of funny, but I have been listening to a book by "The Long Island Medium" Theresa Caputo, and this morning before I went to the vet, it was the part where she talks about pets in the afterlife, and this afternoon it was the part about things happening for a reason, and maybe that's why I was listening to this book at this time, because I believe that things do happen for a reason.
Ed, you could not have known that your cats were getting bad food, you were giving them what you believed was the best for them. You should not even begin to think that was your fault. Like MDV said above (I'm sorry I don't know your name MDV), you gave them a good long life and did your best for them, and I'm so sorry for your loss.
Anyway, I'm OK, and I see Tim and his wife are OK, and thanks again. Jeni

I am so sorry that happened to you. It is not your fault, you were buying what I have always thought was a good brand and how could you have known? ((((hugs)))

Oscar is so beautiful and so full of personality, I just love hearing about him!

Alice, I agree with this also. It is so hard to lose them! While they can't be "replaced" with a new addition to the family, it does help when you can put your energy into loving a new one.

Thanks for the compliments....this was year two of carving. Watching this video and several of Ray Villafane, I'm starting to learn a few tricks. It's not as hard as you think and believe me I have no true talent. The soul of an artist and the talent of a tree stump, I say!

Please post pics! I love all jack o'lanterns!

OMG, year 2 only? Jen, I would lose fingers trying this. But I am gonna have DH watch it, he is the pumpkin carver in our house, I just take care of the seeds

We found a poor, unloved, mis-shapen pumpkin last year and it was just perfect for our (very small) creepy graveyard, we made a skeleton face out of it. I was pretty proud of DH.
