Well I have chicken going right now on the BBQ. Good thing it is on the porch and under cover with all this rain we have had all day. Getting the Hubby a smoker as a surprise for his BD. Actually all the kids are chipping in on it. His birthday is the 23rd but plan on giving it to him a little early so he can do some test runs on it before Thanksgiving. I plan on making him do our Turkey in it this year. See there is a reason to my madness! LOL

I bet it will be fantastic! I had one once and would love to try it again. Smoked anything is wonderful though right?

I have deep fried our turkeys for the last 10 years or so. We like them so much that I do 3 birds, just so we'll have lots of leftovers.

Well this will be our first. One thing is my Sister offered us a 27# turkey she is getting from work. But from everything I have heard and read it is not recommended to smoke that large of a bird. Because it would take 15 hrs to smoke it leaves to much time for bacteria to develop. What is the largest bird you have done? The smoker will be large enough I am getting him the 40 inch master built gas smoker.

My niece and her husband are fire fighters and fry them in their gear so don't have to worry about hot oil. It is pretty funny seeing them all decked out with a big pot o' turkey in oil. Of course, if a fire started in their neighborhood they would be all ready to go to work

Hey, Val. Hope you're feeling better. yesterday sounded a little rough.

Thank you :)

I hate it when my wifi doesn't work. Then I had to go to my condo since I wanted to sync my old iPad before I wiped it, then had to sync the new one. And it is upstairs. I don't do stairs well. I went up them with no rail once and was pretty darn proud of myself. The 2nd time, I just couldn't do it, the leg wouldn't hold me. A few hours later, my leg told me I was an idiot for doing that

I don't do well on pain pills AT ALL. I hate them, but have to take them at times like that
