DZ is a registered supplier who machines wickedly cool things that Reonauts love. You can find his posts throughout Reoville and I have a DZ jig too. It's a very nice handmade tool to wrap micro coils REAL tight!! PM him for details:D
I still don't under stand what this jig is

I don't make microcoils often and when i do - i can make them easily enough on a needle. But where the DZ jig is invaluable is when working with much tougher wire.
I like to use R41 instead of regular kanthal wire and it is a real dog to work with; it's springy, tough and has to have the life blowtorched out of it. It also bends once and then stays that shape - so you have few chances to get it right. Why bother? because it lasts for ages!
For that stuff i have had DZ make me a special jig to allow me to bully it into shape.

So you use it to bend a hard coil?

The jig is a tool that let's you have a stable post to wrap your coil. You can connect your wire and wrap using the post.

Most of us hold a post and trap the wire with our fingers and hold it while wrapping a coil. The jig just makes it simple and easy.

hiya Frank - yes it does - but it only comes in 27g as far as i know, so it's a bit fat to start with!

The lazy guy in me likes it because i don't have to run dual coils to get to about 1Ω and it last for months - i have rewicked it a few times (i use 3mm+ silica candle wick) and a good dry burn and rinse once a week keeps the coil clean.
