Another slow day in the lounge!

Good evening Reoville!

Seems all the conversations are in the threads now.

Glad to see the regulars pop in here today. Ed hope you can drop in a little more often soon!

Lisa sounds like she is getting ready for the next round of work. Hope it goes smooth!

I leave my locking pin alone. Just do the swipe and push on the button. Find it works well.

Can't believe it is so close to Thanksgiving. Next week will be a tough one for me here at work. Must fix the whole dinner spread myself. I will do my own at home probably on Friday.

Hope you are doing o.k. at home with the boy Darrel. I can't believe he is two already.

Well, I am around for another hour. Gonna go see what else to read!

Good afternoon, Reoville!

horrid, nasty weather here. i actually got sprinkled on on my way to the laundromat...

as a side note, i'd like to extend my appreciation to whoever the young, bureaucratic, 20-20 sighted bastid was who decided to make Susan B. Anthony dollars look so much like quarters. that was one helluva prank!!!

grumble grumble

Hi Karen!

Don't you get to eat the dinner that you make at work?

Evening Valorie!

On a daily basis, Nope. But they did change it for Thanksgiving awhile back. So I will have my meal on Thursday with them. I usually buy enough of the stuff that I can also take a plate home for later.

Usually I fix them food and then have to fix my meal. I bring all my stuff cooked and just have to re-heat. With my meals now it is no big deal. I wouldn't eat what I fix for them most times. Of course the big roast dinners tempt me! And my meatloaf! That I could eat if allowed.

Evening sweetie!
When I lived in Vegas I got lots of Susan B's. Had to think to put them in another place so they wouldn't be used. I paid $2 for a .50 pop and learned my lesson!

I am glad they made the exception. Holiday meals are a pain with all the sides, not as easy as daily meals. Which is why I asked, because it sounds like your are going to go through it twice.

Did I mention I got out of even doing it once this year and am thrilled beyond belief :D

Though I did do the ham dinner with your yams. Everyone loved it! I will use that recipe again, but get a bigger can

I was really wondering how they would be without the nuts. I love the pecans in them. Yep two cans is much better! I bought two to make at home. I can share and still have plenty for me!

I have done Thanksgiving here for 5 years now. I helped family with couple but never did my own. This year is a first for just me. I hope I have some family drop by and can share. Won't do a big spread, just enough to make it feel like I did!

I spent the day unpacking a few more boxes of mostly garbage. Can't believe the stuff I packed! Two more kitchen boxes and then I get to tackle the Christmas stuff!

Sounds like a busy day!

I don't do the x-mas. It is just another day for me. Although my kids do and usually drop over with gifts. They know I opt out, but make it up at b-day times.

Once Thanksgiving is over I can't wait till the new year.

It's a nice 65 with blue sky's down the 5 from you. Please don't send your icky wet clouds down here

The Susan B's have a different feel around the edges. For those of us with less than 20/20. ;)

feel? what's that? my right hand is completely numb, and the left fingertips are numbish thanks to carpal tunnel.

i used to have a lot of fun with those fingers, but no more :)

Evenin' dear Karen,

i've done the same, but i ain't all that quick on learning a lesson...

When i nuke my frozen dinner tonight, i'm gonna pretend it's your roast or meatloaf (mmmmm), accompanied by Val's mirepoix or fond. Hopefully, Jen will chime in before then, so i can have a pretend dessert :)

i actually heard mirepoix mentioned on some food network show last night and i was so surprised i almost stumbled again :)
