Good Morning Reoville! Hope everyone is doing well and those in need are recovering well.
I decided to work today instead of going hunting... temps to be in the single digits by afternoon. No thanks... Don't want to be overheated then get frost bite.
My friends however are braving the cold.

Good morning REOVille from balmy Wurtland KY where it is a whopping 11*F. So cold the windshield washer froze on the wiper arm. And a 14.7 liter Detroit Diesel loses temperature at high idle. Gotta love it.

We're up to a balmy 18 degrees here. The geese are blowing puffs of vapor when they squonk.
After letting the birds out and nearly freezing, I will be using the treadmill today instead of walking in the woods.
Thankfully we will only be freezing today, back to the mid 40's tomorrow.

Morning all - Artic blast is here. Temp right now is 5 degrees and wind chill is supposed to be between 35-45 below. Blizzard out there right now and worst is yet to come. We are only supposed to get 6 inches. Hoping Kay is doing well. South of me got hit hard in her area! She moves south and this winter think the weather has been worse there!

I love the playoffs, the games are so tight
In other news, the day my 15 year old chinook died, a poodle we had found abandoned and relocated to a family, returned him to us.
They said "sorry, turns out he's too much work for us" (idiots)
So we have been searching for another home for him and this morning we decided we'll take care of him
Never had a miniature poodle, but this little fella is sure something sweet and my kids (4&5) love him, has been keeping them distracted from our loss of "Dockers"
My little 25lbs rescue mutt, has been enjoying the company too, but is also depressed. She's been sleeping on Dockers big bed, since he left us...
Thank you to all Reonauts, this is really my home on the internet, and although ya'll know I'm not a "regular" lounger, it's nice to keep reading through everyone's daily struggles and successes
Della, thank you, I think your posts about your animals helped soften my heart to this little "Rocket poodle"
when the Saints knock off Seattle next week, it's gonna be sweet attending yet another NFC Championship game in SF...

For those of you in the know, the eagle has landed as far as I can tell.
Been thinking of all of you in the cold areas of the US and Canada, and stormy areas of Europe. Harsh weather....we're not in bad shape, but it was about 8° that it should have been last night. And the temps this week should all be above freezing. Sure hope this weather moves on quickly and flood waters recede even faster. Crappy time of year for flooding. Stay warm and safe, everyone.

I'm really enjoying vaping since my month off but I'm not too confident that my doctor's appointment in 2 weeks will be good news. The month off from vaping left me grumpy most of the time and I didn't notice any benefit. Unfortunately tho enjoying vaping again my COPD
seems to be worse. I find Im short of breath much easier. I got my fingers crossed it's just in my head and test will prove me wrong. I'd to have to quit for good.
To all those suffering with terrible weather I hope it ends soon and you all are safe and warm.
I'm pulling for the Saints too. I really would hate to play up in Seattle.

I was diagnosed with COPD when I was a smoker. I haven't had a problem since I made the switch.

going to look at 2 rat terrier pups and am considering getting both. Their mom is 12 pounds and the daddy is 15 pounds. a girl and a boy. will put up pics if/when i get them.They are 8 weeks old. the boy is black and white like the dad and the girl is brown and white like the mama
The only pics i have now is before they were weaned
the 2 in the middle are the ones i will get asap
here is the mama

They aren't Californians. They are all the transplants moving here. I am a 6th generation Californian on one side, 3rd on the other. The jerks ruining this fine state are all the ones who moved here in the last generation. They have inundated us with so much crap our taxes have skyrocketed to the point we had to sell the family farm in our family 4 generations just to pay the taxes due when my father passed. DH is a transplant, and constantly complains about "Californians" and I have to constantly remind him that the people he are referring to are his own kind, asshats from other places, not MY kind who settled here a long time ago and still remember it being a nice place. He will never be a Californian, his pedigree doesn't support it nor does his driving rage which is definitely NOT the way it was when I grew up and comes from asshats like him coming here with their nasty habits
I hope everyone is staying safe out there where it is breaking-records cold. I just saw on the news a lot of stranded people at airports, cities virtually closed down, and I just worry about all the shut-ins who rely on others who see to their welfare not being able to get to them. I am sure Karen understands this well!

anyone got a snowmobile suit I can borrow?!I watched the TALL maintenance man hand-plowing the walking path and the path,cleared, was up past his knees!The temp's in the single digits and going below zero for the next few nights.The poor birds have been fighting hard over the one bird feeder I've snuck onto my small balcony. But I'm very happy that I have a pair of cardinals coming in many, many times each day.
