Glad No one was hurt. But things like that make it rough to get around with detours especially on a holiday weekend.

New critter adoptions happening here at the circus. Little Sister has started a frog rescue mission. I spazzed out when she first started it...typical big sister stuff "Go wash your hands! You're going to get warts! Leave them alone!" Of course it went in one ear and out the other. Sat over at her house last night and it was like she is the pied piper of the frogs! Tree frogs, toads, little frogs, big frogs just started appearing around us, sitting on rocks, swimming in their pond and showing off various vocal talents. She even had the dogs behaving and just watching, teaching the dogs that the frogs are pets.

What did you do last night?
Oh, sat around and watched the frogs sing.

I love frogs, I grew up in MI and miss the sitting at the lake listening to the frogs sing, while staring at the bonfire.

I have to agree with Darrel on the slow down what's the rush driving mentality. I used to drive as fast as I felt I could get away with and was always in a hurry to get to and from work. A 20 mile drive on highway and city combined. I do not recall what prompted me to consider making the change but I experimented driving as quickly as I could for 2 weeks and then just cruising at the speed limit for 2 weeks. Average difference in arrival time was about a 1:10 slower when driving the speed limit. I found that luck of the draw on stop lights made far more difference on how fast you arrive.

Since then I just sit back and relax and drive the limit. I save gas and have eliminated a lot of city driving stress by doing so. Now people that drive under the speed limit stress me out more than speeders. I truly think they cause more accidents on the highway than speeders do.

I am a courier, we are suppose to drive fast, but I found if I just drive no faster than 5 miles over the speed limit, I make there just as fast and a whole lot safer too. Some days I still like to floor it through :D

Ed posted pics of his very nice canes.

Well, he did have another very nice wood cane. But he decided to send it to me! I am very happy! Already brought out the Howard's Feed & Wax and it has a few coats on it now. You all know me good enough to know I can't help but wax wood!

Thank you again Ed! It is a very special gift!

Very very beautiful cane!!! A lot better than my Camo cane :)

Good morning everyone! Hope you all have a great day!

You have a great looking pack. My little one is taking the patience of raising a pack. This picture was of here on the ride home. that was 2 weeks ago. She is a terror but I love her :)

Yeah, apartment living, headphones are a must. My downstairs neighbor is an old widow who came here from guess where? Arizona. Small world eh? I love this woman like she was my mom. Both she and her hubby WERE heavy smokers. She quit many years back but he passed away 5 years ago to lung cancer.

I take out her trash any chance I get and I NEVER make any noise at night, which is trickier than it seems because our floorboards make noise like crazy. I even wait for her to leave before I run the laundry (when I can).

I feel sorry that she is spending the twilight of her life alone and in my crappy overpriced apartment complex.

I bet she appreciates the effort you put in for her. respect for the elderly is something I think this society lacks most times :)

I am! It is my birthday weekend so I take an extra day off. :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope it is a good one!!!!

Think I'd better go shopping for puppy supplies later today. Borrowed a small crate from my niece last night to keep it in until I get it house broken. But will need puppy food, pads, toys and whatnots. Niece also gave me a coupon to a place online for flea, heartworm meds :)

I just did all that the pocket book is still crying. and I have another vet trip for at least 60 bucks next monday!

Here is the REO family. The ones in front are the ones I use, but I still use my mech Grand as my go to 95% of the time. The blue/black mini needs a purple door to match the Grand and VVG. The woods have been polished with Howards and Sharkhide, and have custom made driptips by Molehill. The Purple/Silver is going to be sold as I only bought the purple for the door  The mini black is DH's, and he LOVES it.

What a nice REO family!

Sitting here speechless...just opened a package from a guy in Maine named Rob. Got my new Mini 2.1 today. This one shall be named Raphael. Now if I can only find the stupid charger for my camera!! Oh...so much fun!! And poor DH is stuck at work...LOL

Congrats!!!!!!!

My house is full of 17 yr old boys ... My son is having a Memorial day wknd bash here. My head hurts already as they overtook my TV for something about a box shaped like an x, and call of duty. My son did not think I was funny when I said why are you playing poo, "call of poo" --ya know duty!! LOL I've been banished to my room for that one.

I'm loving all the pics!! Keep em coming.

Debbie are you a newbie? Welcome!!! I'm Susie -bit of a newbie myself, well to Reoville. Feels like I have been here forever though, great group of folks!!

Just in case anyone missed it, I  love my Reo Grand and RM2  Used some 30 gauge and cotton ball wick @ .7 --I wonder why I just didn't start in Reoville 2 yrs ago!! I remember seeing them in the beginning when I joined ECF but thought nah, and that folks will be my last idiot vape moment.

17 years olds what you gonna do

Hope everyone is having a great evening. I have decided to try cotton as a wick. How long do I need to boil the cotton balls?

Morning Lisa. I am sure you are tempted to take the camera along today. With you so close to the bridge you could probably get some great shots. Be careful out there! Hope your routes don't give you too much trouble.

Haha...no time, my friend. The traffic put me about 2 hours behind once I left Stanwood and headed for Mount Vernon. But I got it all done and am catching up with a tiny headache. :) Headaches and new cameras don't mix. I'll head out with the camera for some fun tomorrow.

I think one of my favorite authors lives where you do....or did at one time, Annie Dillard.

I believe she won the Pulitzer Prize for Pilgrim at Tinker Creek. It's like Thoreau's Walden except more from the perspective of a naturalist. She is an extraordinary "observer".

Teaching a Stone to Talk was great too, essays and short stories, esp. Life on the Rocks: The Galapagos.

I know she wrote a novel that took place in the Bellingham area, called The Living. It's about life in the Pacific Northwest during the last decades of the 19th century....not my favorite by her, but certainly evokes the richness of settler life (I'm a sucker for pioneer type epic novels) etc.

Oh shoot....more stuff to read! Thanks for the heads up!
