Well I'm off to walk behind a machine that cuts grass for the next two hours....pure drudgery in my book.

Sounds like we have the same kind of grass. We didn't get much rain in June or the beginning of July so it went all brown and crunchy. Then it rained for about a week and the jungle popped right back up. I know it's time to mow when I can't see my dogs in the front yard. (Standard poodles, so that is pretty tall!)Well, you are lucky you are not living here in the Rain Forest of TN. The grass needs to be cut at least weekly or it will be up to your knees (you cannot even find a grasshopper, so I mean people's knees). We have had over 15 inches of rain so far this year.

Good Day Fine REO Folk. Yeah, I know it's Monday but I suffer the affliction Eternal Optimist and love every day being a new day (most of the time). (Helps not being in a "hate my job" "hate my co-workers" "hate my boss" situation.) (Also helps to make morning coffee time semi-mindless except for Lounge drop in. Almost a good as uninterrupted sleep with good or no dreams remembered.)
Heading out to get some work done before it breaks triple digits by noon. That's an hour and half before suffering begins. Jen, glad you have the cool bedroom. We just need to keep a little bit of rememberence of our "cool" July. And know that when you are "released" you'll be getting some <80F nights.
Got DH's upgrade phone yesterday, Galaxy 4. He insisted I go with him. I did screw up and forgot to move all his text messages. I've been telling him for years, though, the importance of syncing but he wouldn't be bothered. So all that was transferred was pics and contacts after I created him a new Gmail acct at Sprint store. Then we stopped by Baskin and Robbins for a dip. First time we've ever done that in almost 40 years. Of course, after finishing it off he had to kick himself for eating it. But only once.
Cowboys won first preseason last night. Best part of game was all the Hall of Fame fanfare and interviews.
Welcome new Reonauts or to be 'nauts.
Hold those you love close in heart and mind.
Feisty Alice

! Our back yard is just a big deck with a little dog-walk around it, and the front yard is mainly flowers and veggies with just a pretty small square of grass, and I miss having more of it. But it sure is a lot less work now. I've been in charge of mowing since I was a kid, and my dad cut off most of one toe and a bit of another with the push-mower. He would've gone right back to it, but my mom put her foot down (no pun intended
. It really DOES seem like you've figured out how to squeeze five hours of sleep out of just one, Ed; I'm constantly so impressed
. Speaking of sleep, I'm glad you caught up on some, Alice, and good to hear that your hubby actually eased up on his strict dietary regimen a bit to enjoy some delicious Baskin & Robbins. What are the favorite flavors of ice cream here in REOville, anyway? Hope you get to hop on that backhoe soon, Lisa, and that you keep giving Trunker's active imagination some good fodder
!
