Sirens all around now about a mile away. Went out on deck and helicopter flood lights aimed down a few hundred yards from my house in woods but several different spots. Think it best to stay in. It's all deep woods. Getting out the shotguns.

Big revolver and plastic glock at my side. My baby girl 380 Ruger and snub nose SW in my car but don't want to go out there. Loading up some glock clips. Glad I cleaned it. They get cranky when they are dirty.

Sorry I haven't been around much but I've taken over the computer part of the volunteer thing I do in the afternoon and it's eating up some of my free RW time.

Willie Nelson turns 80 tomorrow. Weather on. Wed night cold front coming in. May not make it out of 40's Thursday. The world is ending.

You can call the non-emergency number for whatever authorities you have and ask if you should be hunkering down and if you should be removing the firearms from the vehicle. Would hate some bad guy to get them from the car...
Okay, may not make it out of 40s Friday. Cold and drizzly Thur and Friday but low 70s for weekend. Sorry Kay but it will seem spring for you; freak winter for us. We'll need wraps for nights at lake.

Now let me get this straight; it's 79 in Colorado and I'm coming down to Texas to 40 degree weather? And just why was it we fought for that state? It sure as hell wasn't for the beautiful mountains.

Kay, I'll have wraps for lunch at The Oasis. We can sit under covered area that also offers some wind buffer. Many times we've been there 40 mph sustained wind.

She's in Texas, their law allows you to defend your property, with force, during the hours between sunset and sunrise.
At least the state has one redeeming value.

Way out west the southern park of Rockies are pretty nice. But I understand. When we fought for Texas with Mexico we were at the tail end of the mini ice age and temps were reasonable. Major surprise a few years later. This has been the weirdest half year ever in Texas. Hot and sweating today but near freezing in a couple days. That's typical winter but we are well into summer now. And it's going to be that damned bone chilling humid cold. Last week in McAllen, pretty damn close to official tropical, when DH got off plane it was low 50's with gulf winds making wind chill nesr freezing. All this expected in high desert but thst we are not.
