    Good morning REOville!

One week down...one to go in California. I can't believe how fast time goes by while on vacation. It's going to be real hard going back to NY (reality) wish we could stay here forever! The pic below was taken from the pool area of our hotel. : )

    For the RM2 experts-

I'm using 2.5 mm silica, and 30 gauge kanthal. I do a 3/4 roll and my ohm usually measures at 1.0

I'm finding that I still want a stronger hit. How can I achieve this? Will making the coils more spread apart, or putting them closer together help me accomplish this?

    Thanks!

    Debbie- Congratulations! Luc is breathtaking!

Alice- Thanks for your recent wildling's stories. There has been a recent influx of poodle pups and rescues that almost had me thinking "just one more." (it is called puppy virus, incidentally it is running the course at the same time as the REOvirus.)

The antics of your pack reminds me that 3 is enough. Loveable Bubs.

Lisa-I love the schnauzers eyelashes. And Jasmine's ear & posture...such a cute little duo you have.

Thanks Jen..Luc is so sweet.. he just left to go to "big boy" mind your manners school. Trainer says he is doing great! I miss him already

What part of NY are you heading back to? I see it says upstate. I was recently at FT. Drum, Not a big fan of that place :D

A stronger hit? By that do you mean Throat Hit? While I am currently waiting on my RM2 I use a 10-11 wrap micro-coil of 28g Kanthal which gets me to .8-.9 Ω I usually run that with Ekowool or XC-116 on my IGO-L and it hit's like a freight train. You could try twisting the 30g and doing a few more wraps to cover more surface area. Take a look at this link http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-kanthal-wire-genesis-style-devices-rbas.html Also what is your pg/vg ratio and nic lvl?

Howdy RJ. We live in a little town between Utica and Rome. About 1.5 hours from FT Drum. Yeah I hear ya...I'm not a fan either.

We drove through Utica on the way there :) I had to make a potty break at the welcome center haha. I replied to your coil/hit question btw let me know if I can be of more assistance. Ever been down through the Rhode Island area?

Thanks I didn't notice you had replied! Yes I was referring to TH. now if I did more wraps to cover a greater surface area, wouldn't more wraps mean higher ohm's? This stuff confuses me. Lol
    I generally vape 18mg 70/30 pg/vg.

Never been through Rode Island. However it looks real nice! Utica is a real dump huh? Lol

That is generaly correct the more wraps you make the higher the Ω for this reason I use 28g Kanthal which allows for more wraps with less Ω. Think of it this way: The higher the gauge of the wire i.e. 32 the wire gets thinner and less wraps you can do without getting high ohms, which in turn means less surface area covered, flavor and TH are deminished. The lower the gauge of the wire i.e 28 the wire is thicker and you can achive many more wraps while keeping the ohms low. Like I said you can try twisting the 30g that you have which in theory should lower the gauge of the wire allowing you to do more wraps. I hope I made sense :) Utica is not to bad btw lol. I only saw the welcome center and the highway so I can't judge too much! Oh and 18mg 70/30 should already be giving you decent TH :D

There is also distance to the air hole to increase throat hit. Closer gives more.

Just saying stronger leaves some variables. Heat, throat hit, flavor, vapor. It is best to know just what you are needing to make it better for you.

Believe me, there are Reonauts that can tell you just how to fine tune your set-up to get just what you want.

Thanks for your help rj! But what exactly do you mean by "twisting the wire?"

Take a length of your 30g lets say six inches or so. Fold it on top of itself so it looks like two wires. Then take a paper clip or another small piece of wire and secure it around the closed end of the wire. Then start twisting the wire at the open end while using the paper clip or extra wire as a base. Your wire should end up looking like a twizzler of sorts. Then just use it as you would normaly. In theory twisting the wire should make your 30g act like 28g. There are some pictures in this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-twisting-2-pieces-kanthal-together-coil.html It's kind of like a dual coil in a single coil.

My brain is in a state of happy anticipation. My Purple Haze is waiting for me to go pick her and the RM2s up. She is the tiny Mini 14500 and all purple :) Her siblings await the arrival with happiness that the family is growing.

I expect to actually get her in my hands tomorrow. If i could walk like i used to then she would be here right now.Tomorrow isn't that far away and my friend is glad to take me to the Post office when asked.
