Does anyone have an answer for this question?...

What is the purpose of throw rugs on top of floors in just about every room?

I mean, then you have two things you have to keep clean. You have to remove the rugs to shake them out outside ( I'm picturing my Mom dragging them outside, somehow getting them over the clothesline, then beating them with a broom) or in more modern times, vacuuming the "throw' rugs, them moving them out of the way to vacuum or mop the floors underneath them. Then replace the rugs on top of the floor. Now granted, in the very cold winters with hard surfaced floors I can understand the warmth of feet on the rugs. But what about when you're feet hit the bare floors?

True, most people now have wall-to-wall carpet in just about every room, except maybe the bathrooms...which have those damn rugs...

tho the little rug serves it's purpose to keep one from slipping on the bare floor when emerging from the shower/tub, so it's the only one that seems to serve an actual purpose.
But then all other those rooms also have lots of little rugs in them.

I can understand thick mats in front of the kitchen sink and the stove if you're slaving away for any amount of time...but who spends hours slaving away cooking and cleaning up anymore?

We've been had by the rug manufactorers!!!

I need to get out more.......

i'm still drooling over smoked brisket!

Tonight it's back to 'proper' food - so fish and chips. Fish in beer batter - Corona works well and better to cook with since it's practically undrinkable!

HRH spotted a super piece of ham on sale and has dared me to make a decent parsley sauce for it. As long as i avoid her knives, i'm cool!

Good morning, Reoville! :D

:( I'm at a crossroads. Perhaps y'all could help me.

Several months ago, I really wanted a bottom feeder. It was between the Bogger Box and the Reo. I chose to get the Bogger Box simply because I really, REALLY wanted a wood mod and the Woodvils were no more.

Fast forward to this month. I've been happily using my Bogger Box. But because it's pretty and lacquered and all that, I don't want to take it out of the house for fear of damaging it. I have a brass King mod that was given to me by a friend as a thank you gift for helping him quit smoking. While it's more durable, the sentimental and monetary value of it also keeps me from wanting to take it outside of the house too often. That, and I don't like to drip on the run.

Herein lies the crossroad...

It took a few months for my Bogger to arrive since it was custom and all. I'm happy with the end product (customer service will be for another story). I really want the Mini 2.1 since it would fill that niche between the Bogger and the King - durable, sleek, hassle free, and comes with the wonderful Reonaut community.

I know that more likely than not, the Reo would replace the Bogger. But I don't feel that I could part with the Bogger either (not yet, at least). In the same token, I can't really justify owning both. Being in the hobby of knives and such, I know that I do not rotate through my gear very well - when I find something that works, I stick with it. Depending on the item (gifted, sentimental value), most of the other stuff gets sold after some time since I don't like things to gather dust.

Do I sell the Bogger to fund the Reo? Maybe wait until my birthday/after the Fall school semester and give some justification to owning both, if only for a little while?

The more I use my Bogger, the more I want a Reo Mini 2.1 w/ RM2. But what colors? And does Rob let us buy extra doors? How long would it take from order to receipt if I wanted "custom" colors?

Thank you! :)

Tough decision but who knows...maybe a beautiful wood REO will show up and the choice will be easy. ;)

I think that not making more wood Reos is hurting a lot of people that end up getting them elsewhere - things like bogger box and so on are good devices. I do have a woodvil - it's not what i use every day, but it's kind of a 'Sunday best' mod. I'd be in line like everyone else for a wood Reo and it's a pity more are not made, especially since Robert has said he enjoys making them.

I have a lot of mods including a custom made vv wooden one from somewhere else, because Reos are so hard to get hold of. For daily use you cannot beat my metal grand.

I suppose if you beg really hard some hoarder on here might part with one for you - but Kay has decided to 'will' hers to my wife rather than me! hahaha!

That is hilarious!

i suspect that the course of action is to join CASAA and vote the damn fools out. Between Europe trying to classify e-cigs as a 'medical device' - which does not cure any known disease or have any medicinal claims to - to the FDAs latest reported nonsense to ban internet sales the entire thing is a .... up of muddled thinking from the start.

Let's be very clear about this: i do not use tobacco - i do use nicotine liquid, but you can get that in a lot of vegetables! It really is time that there was a separate category for e-cigs, because they do not fit well in either medical or tobacco product well.

Everyone that vapes - whether they like it or not is an advocate for reducing the harm tobacco does. Regulating e-liquid is not something i am against and nor is stopping minors from joining in - but ill-considered interference from government is actually one of the reasons i moved to the USA in the first place.
