Beware of compaq computers. Compaq bought Digital, and the HP bought Compaq. The computers that carry the Compaq name are made with seconds on all their boards. HP offloaded their seconds into those computers. In short, compaq's are all assembled with "less expensive" boards. As far as Tiger Direct is concerned, you can get cheap PC's from them. Their pre-made ones are all assembled with "less expensive" boards. However, you can buy upgraded boards from them, and those are very good boards at less expensive cost. However, do not expect that you will receive first run equipment from them. (The same was true with Circuit City when they were in business.) If you are building a desktop that does not do heavy duty processing, they are fine.
