Happy Friday Everyone!!!

Had an interesting week here... Was approached by a company I used to work with, and offered a management position with them. It's been about 6 years since I left them. After some negotiations, I signed the offer, and told them I'd start in a month. Handed in my notice (1 month) to my boss today. Had a great chat, and he agreed to let me work my notice, transition my accounts, etc.

This afternoon, he comes into my office to check how I'm doing on writing out my notes for transitioning my accounts, and we walk through them all. After the update, he informs me that I can gather my things and go. They've decided to walk me. This is understandable, as I am going to a competitor and all. I say thanks, and tell him to call me if he has any questions moving forward. I think overall we separated on good terms.

Gather my things, pack 'em into my car, and call my new employer to give them the news. Their response... "Can you start on Monday?"

So for now I'll enjoy my 'unemployed' weekend, then start fresh on Monday. 8:00am management meeting to introduce myself to the team. Will have to ease them into the fact that I'll be vaping in my office And since my old company has to pay me out my notice and remaining vacation, I'll be double dipping for the next month and a bit. Time to knock down the CC debt a bit. Wife's thrilled about that part.

I have a Dell. The hardware seems to be working perfectly fine - it's been about 6 years now. As for software, I ran Linux and Microsoft dual booted for a little while and went full Linux about 5 years ago.

I guess i got lucky, too...I had a Dell for about 7-8 years , then a Gateway for about the same. And I don't intend to spend a lot of money for the next one, not with my simple needs.

I have a Dell. The hardware seems to be working perfectly fine - it's been about 6 years now. As for software, I ran Linux and Microsoft dual booted for a little while and went full Linux about 5 years ago.

The first thing I do with a desktop is convert it to Linux. I only run Winblows where I absolutely have to. There are companies now that will build a new system and load Linux on it native from the factory. If I have to get a new PC, that is what I will get.
