90% it will be the post not making contact or a coil wire shorting Im willing to bet.

Cotton can touch the cap. But please stop trying, your spring is compromised and I'd hate for you to get hurt.
I made a new coil at 1.4ohms.. nothing is touching the cap... its perfect. im getting no voltage at the post screws... obviously something happened after i pushed that metal piece up though... and no the battery wasnt in it. i just hit the button afterwards with the RM2 on it...
I've never replaced a Woodvil's spring...so I don't know anything at all about that.
Gently pushing up the connector would not have caused a short...it only allowed contact to be made.

For fear of sounding touristy....You just have to see the Smithsonian. There's stuff there anyone can relate to. From the Spirit of St. Louis to Archie Bunkers recliner. The Franklin Mint is totally amazing also. Lincoln Memorial is a must and The Vietnam Veterans Memorial touches all hearts. Make sure you look out over the reflecting pool. It's something you will never forget. And if you time it just right you can catch the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington.
And if you have time, visit Colonial Williamsburg, where you can step 200 years back in time. (If you ignore the everpresent modern jetliners streaking overhead) Oh and the prettiest girls are the bread wenches at Dunfey's Tavern.
Because I recoiled the spring and put the battery in with the new coil and RM2 ontop and no firing .. Because there is a resistance "load" between the post screws i should get a voltage reading across the 2 posts if the RM2 was making contact with the centre post.

Now by untwisted the centre post. It is up alot higher... but at the same time i snapped off the wire coming from the button... Soldering here we come.. hopefully this works... This is pissing me off kinda... :/
I suggest you get a 2 cent fuse. Especially since you "recoiled" your spring. If you get a hard short and your battery blows it is not a good thing. You will become one of those stories we hate to see on the news as the doctors pick splinters out of your eyes.
ETA: I use fuses since I blew my spring once, I REPLACED the spring but don't want to fool with that mess again so just put a fuse in. The ones they make now are reusable, the old ones are one timers.

Since this is the lounge, I am gonna put this out there:
I like BAKED potatoes. I also like BAKED sweet potatoes. So why, oh why, when I mention to one of the 7 people I am cooking for tonight do they have to tell me they have a great recipe for "baked" sweet potatoes by wrapping them in foil with butter and brown sugar? Folks, you simply CANNOT BAKE a potato in foil. You are then steaming it, which is an entirely different thing. The skin will be nasty mushy and worthless. And I am not making some holiday treat, one does NOT put brown sugar and butter on baked sweet potatoes, they are quite sweet if you cook them properly by BAKING them. If some heathen at my dinner table tonight wants to then add brown sugar to them, fine I will smile and get you some but I don't want nor do I need the extra calories nor does a properly baked sweet potato need it. Oh, and for those restaurants that serve a "baked" potato in foil? You can keep that steamed thing, and teach your so called chefs to cook a proper baked potato by rubbing it in olive oil, sprinkling it with salt and putting into an oven.

Pushing up on the tube can very likely cause a short The rm2 at issue sounds like most likely the center post is too depressed or quite simply it isnt screwed on far enuf either way it sounds like the roe gasket is likely compromised from pushing the tube up

i was doing pretty good until i fell hard off the wagon earlier this week. one should be arriving from Maine tomorrow, followed shortly by another from the classies. at least one, however, is to become a gift. that will leave an even dozen- a nice resting point unless of course Woodvils start popping up...

correct. trying to re-use a collapsed spring is foolhardy and dangerous. your Woodvil deserves better.

I know right? I shouldn't be so worked up about it, I am sure they were just trying to "help". I just dislike steamed potatoes immensely, as my mother taught me to. Especially when 7 of these cost me over $8 when I could have just had regular potatoes for pennies since DH does the huge-bag-from-costco thing
We don't disagree at all. You use a kick, a kick has a way to measure watts and doesn't need adjustment to a coil because it provides it by it's very nature. If I like a particular juice or wick at 8.5 watts, the kick will make it happen regardless of the coil. That is the beauty of VW and why VV to me is a pita. I would use my kick but my battery life would suck with a '490. I already go through 2 - 3 18650's a day...
As for that wheel, how the heck do you "nudge it up"? I can't even tell if it is turning apparently
I used to change my 18650 a lot too. With the Kick 2 I change my batteries about as much as I did the 18650 because of the boost circuits built into the Kick. My voltage can go a lot lower in the 18490 than I could with the 18650 and still get a great vape all the way through.
