Cindy, I believe you need to be logged into your account in order to utilize the more advanced features of Photobucket (it will be on the right-side of the screen), just let us know when you find an option that can make me look handsome and I'll send you some cookies!

RHP

You are the guru as far as I am concerned. I can't even take a picture

Thanks again, btw!

good evening!
does anyone know if pictures on photobucket can be enlarged or zoomed? I wanted to laugh at alice, but the pic is too small! :)

and I hope it is ok to post this, I am looking for a blue 14500 door, would you please let me know if you see one for sale somewhere? thanks

back to lurking.....

Hope this is better. I was posting from my phone and the photobucket photos usually display as usual. PB is a pain in the b u t t.... a lot. I have paid account but it is so slow and changes they make only make it worse not better.

Just flashed in for a second. Love to all. Pretty miserable day in the long run. Perpetual Optimist doesn't always carry one through. Seeking cave without human intervention for a couple of years. Drop me in a remote forest please and let me be. Just need a bug out bag and some aspirin and benadryl.

Rain, Rain, and tons of rain. I was amazed at how high the Nooksack had risen earlier today. I wonder if it's flooding yet. Doing good, fat and lazy. :D

You can probably talk "pretty" to Robert or do some grovelling (I'm pretty good at doing that.) to get a blue 14500 door. If he doesn't have any, any longer, you can pick one up on classies, like a wanted, any color, and there's an ECF member who can strip it an anodize it for you any color.

So don't burn me at the stake for this question please, here goes.
What makes the Woodvils so sought after? Other than they are not being produced right now and are hard to come by? I saw that MamaTried has a beautiful, and I mean gorgeous bogger in the classys. If I had the money at the moment he'd be sending it to me, Reo or not. I'm not getting why a Woodvil would be that much better. To me it's a wooden mod that looks just like most all other wooden mods that I've seen. I understand and know first hand why the metals are so great, but they're in my mind, one of a kind.
Please enlighten me.

All of the wood REO's are made out of a single block of wood for the body. No glued parts to come apart over time. The door may or not be made from the same wood. There are channels in the inside and the wires fit in those channels. So the wires are not very visible. The door fits in dovetail grooves along the sides. All wood REO's are hand finished. So the seam where door meets body is almost invisible.

If you look at wood craft very much you know that it is pretty easy to tell quality with a little inspection to detail.

You don't have to look at a wood REO very long to see that it is quality workmanship made by someone that cares. He also knows how to craft a masterpiece that will stand the test of time.

I have over 30 wood REO's. Each unique, but every one a true functional work of art.

In addition to what Karen and other say about the Wood REOs most can take a real beating and come out virtually unscathed. I've had several "other" wood mods in my hands and own one beauty, non-REO, that could never even hold together in conditions many Wood REOs endure. Most are made of several pieces of wood glued together. Many suffer separation of parts just because of the glued inlays and parts with just minimal use or and not even abuse. How many wood mods would you take "swimming" pretty often with no damage let alone separation of parts?!?! My first Wood REO, one of the first, a "Woody" has been swimming no less than 20 times and used for months in the steamy hot tub. I just removed battery, wiped it out, blew out 801 atty, put all back together, and kept on vaping for hours after. It is a Purpleheart, btw. I wouldn't subject my all Spalted VV, of course, to the torture but many of my Curly Oaks have been regular swimmers. And then we have the Walnut. Almost indestructible, doesn't dent...... Lots of other examples. But main thing is the one piece construction: no joints or glue.

I'll put my REOs up against any other Wood mod for endurance under adverse conditions.

I don't have to rave about the exemplary craftsmanship as others will do that. But anything said about the beauty and fine craftsmanship I will second, and third, and fourth, and........... I love fine wood. I love artistic. I love precision. I love endurance. I live with a lot of wood products that have endured over a century, or more, of hard use and they are beautiful. That's what I look for in many wood products. Beauty and functionality.....

Gil, didn't you do the thread, "Use those Wood REOs"?

It's almost Monday...Boo!
I could use another day to sleep. I don't know if it's the weather or what, but I'm really tired and headache-y.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

I feel blah also. And my knee hates me, so it must be the weather. The sky was so blue and beautiful today, not a cloud anywhere.

I hope you feel better soon!

Same to you, Val.
It was kinda windy here toward the end of the week. Could have blown in some desert pollen causing me some issues. I think a little more fluid would hurt my cause either. Probably a little under hydrated.

I hope this week treats you with good fortune, health, and peace my sisters.

RHP
Thanks, RHP! And Thank you for your encouraging message this weekend. It really perked me up. ((Hugs))

Thanks RHP from me and my sisters. Hoping you surfer girls get to hurting less. Everyone in my positive thoughts. Yes, I keep some in reserve. Moved my Zero lounge chair into office. I vant to be alone, finishing off much under appreciated pork loin and drifting off, eventually, to a mindless movie on tablet, with a little help from V, benadryl, and herbs. Fatigue helps too. Surrounded by five snoring Bubs, in too little space, to help lull me off. Rest well friends.

Whilst you were sleeping, I caught up here. Totally fused right now. Will never be able to fondle a woodie like Valerie does. In, fact even if my dearest, bestest friend Karen were to offer to send me one for sampling, I shall have to politely decline for I know I will be lost and cannot afford another obsession.
