actually, the lost ones are a fancy photo-chromatic pair that i bought online, after buying a pair here just to get the PD. they cost much less than the domestic basic pair i'm wearing now...

but that reminds me....

is it just me or does anyone else find you have to clean your glasses WAY more often since starting vaping???

i swear, when i was smoking, the only time they got cleaned was when someone ripped them from my face and cleaned them themselves out of disgust. now, i clean the dang things nearly every day...

My 100% VG juice does seem to collect on my glasses. It leaves a film. My car windows need cleaned. I can really see it there.

I thought for glasses and contacts they had to have a Rx that was less than 1 year old. Surprised you got them.

It is tough to order online with bifocals. They can't see how far up to put the line. The size of the bifocal changes with different lens.

I went and checked the price for Vision insurance from work. It would save me some if it was the year to get a exam and new glasses. Think I will pass this time. Maybe next year!
You are supposed to have a current Rx. They even had the order on hold for two days, stating they were checking the prescription with the doctor. I don't know if the doctor okayed a refill on a 4 year old script, or if they didn't even check.
I wasn't asking questions, just happy to put off the eye exam a little bit longer. :D

Evening REOville! I ment to post this morning, but I ran out of time. Hope all are doing well, it's been a rainy day here, but I'm fine with that, I like rainy fall days, as long as there aren't 20 of them in a row, it get kind of depressing then. I couldn't find my phone yesterday the few times I thought about it, so this morning I went out to the car and checked, no phone, dumped my purse, nada, checked the pockets of my hoodie, nothing. Sat here and thought about the last time I knew for sure I had it, and remembered I had it at mom's so I could update my grocery list of things she needed, checked in the tote I bring her laundry home in and there it was. I was starting to panic at the thought of spending money on a new phone.
Only 4 more days till we can go back to real time, my favorite weekend of the year!! Have a good evening all!

Glad you found your phone Jeni! That must have been a fright to think of it being gone for good.

Fall back.......yep will do on Sunday.

You have a wonderful evening too sweetie!

The car windshields, inside, used to get cleaned, at most, once a year. Now it's every few months because of vaping. DH's car is the worst as his is driven more in heavy traffic and we recirculate the air when in traffic.

I had been wearing the same pair of disposable contacts for over a year...not wanting to spend the money on the eye doctor. Finally decided to try ordering from 1-800-CONTACTS with my old prescription, had new contacts the next week. I had ordered from them before so I don't know if they even tried to contact the eye doctor.

the thought of jamming something into my eye reminds me that chickens wearing socks might not be the most terrifying thing on the planet...

I'm rarely in one spot where there isn't a lot of air movement with so many fans all over and outside AND I have to clean my main glasses, with moist packets and then microfibre at least every other day AND I only wear them a few hours a day. Rest of time I have tiny readers propped up on my head except for when needed. AND I have to clean any of them a couple times a day with microfibre cloth. I think it is worse with vaping than smoking.

I'm so ADHD the tiniest spec of anything on glasses drives me batty. But the foggy from vaping is almost as bad.

It was a lot worse when I started wearing them in 1973. They were hard plastic. Took awhile to get your eyelids use to the feel. I switched to the semi-hard lens later.

I had worn the same hard lens for so long that they deformed my eyes. I developed astigmatism from the pressure they exerted over many years. Should have known better but we just didn't have money for the exam and new lens. I wore them till they broke.

Let's change the subject!

Yesterday I realized that my three grown kids are all in their 30's! 30, 36, and 39. Yes, I should have realized it earlier this year when my baby girl turned 30! I get to wait till next September to say I have a 40 year old son.

I actually ordered some glasses a while back from china (??), real cheap. (for my going to the creek, swimming hole, etc. that I ruin and lose).
The company is Zenni Optical....progressive no line bifocals for $20 You can even upload your photo and try 'em on. :)

All you need is a sewing measuring tape, have a friend take the pupil measurement, it's not as voo doo as they would like you to think. On the site they show you how to measure pd:
http://www.zennioptical.com/measuring-pd

I have a friend who is an "optics" hobbyist. :) He taught me everything about glasses, what to order, what not to order, what coatings are worth the cash and which ones are not......

After I get my official pair from the eye doc. I go and get two pair from the cheapie online glasses store. That way I have one in my car. One at work. And the one I use the rest of the time.

Contacts are the same. ...

Pray Tell, what is this online cheap glasses place? :)

Evening everyone - just a FYI I sent my VV Reo into to J-Wraps so they can use it to make a template for the VV Reo's. They were not offering the carbon fiber wraps size for the VV Reo's because they did not have one to make a template from. So after they receive mine they will have the specs on the measurements so they will be available soon for any Grand or VV Grand to be ordered. I don't have any of the mini's so that would be up to someone else! So if your Reo looks beat up this will freshen it up!

Wanted to drop in and see whats been up. Been getting things ready for the cold winter months and enjoying the fall season in the woods. I have to report that the 10ML bottle is working great and I have only had to fill twice in 10 days. Thanks to the RM2 and the bottle, I can not get this Reo out of my hands, and I think its safe to say it. I think this is the best vape ever! :D

I've order my glasses from Zenni optical as well. Bifocals. They always did a fine job. Last order were rimless, bendable titanium frame. $75. They would easily be over $300 here. I also ordered a pair for just for reading with my prescription as a spare with steel frame and they were $12.

from what i've gathered Zenni is pretty highly regarded. last time around, i went with someone even cheaper... (hey-- it's only my eyes... :) )

my prescription has always been tri-focals. since most online guys only offer progressives and not tris. i now prefer progressives, since i am unable to hold my head vertically enough to match my computer monitor...

I know nothing, so any recommendations on free software to add music and edit?

I'd talk eyeglasses if I knew anything about them besides I wanted bad eyesight as a teenager so I could wear them:)

I'm running windows 7, browsing w/chrome and only have my built in webcam for this laptop....

I need to know if you ever eat chicken? Do you like it fried or roasted? Sorry if you have answered this before.

not much help on videos. i tried making my first recently. i used Windows Movie Maker to stitch a copy of "Norwegian Wood" to my silent video, but Utube stripped the sound out due to copyright violation. i, of all people, should have expected that...

funny about your teenage glasses yearnings. when i was 15 or so, i happened to mention to my first girlfriend that i thought i needed glasses. i was "that guy" who came from the wrong side of the tracks-- she came from a wealthy family. she decided if i didn't get a pair of glasses, she would buy me some. in order to avoid more teenage angst than i was already going through, i browbeat my dirtpoor mother into buying me my first pair...

45+ years later, we are still friends and occasionally see each other, but i haven't yet told her that story :)
