Good morning, REOvil!

Hopefully Cheri has all the tricks out of the way for the day! We are on day three of rain now....nobody is even driving down the road, much less walking to the door. Not that we were expecting a lot of kids to drive this far to hit three houses.

I'll say. And they'd need 4-wheelers if they did attempt. Lawn crew stood me up Monday (so what's new)(have to keep Bubs confined to courtyard and be ready to major block off doggie door from inside and outside when they do arrive) and it's been too wet but we only got appreciable amounts Wed. Sun is out today and wonderful 71F this a.m. 77 for high today. No more chance of rain till Monday. Pretty not unusual but I remember one early November, in late 1970's, we had freak snow storm early November.

Leaves are beginning to turn and hoping pretty this year. Lots more pool work till end of Dec when leaves are finally all fallen.

Saw about your car Jen. Really BIG bummer.

Hugs and love.

Oh yeah... doggie info. I use K9 Advantix II every few months on dogs mainly for seed ticks that love me even more than them and help repel the biting flies for a few weeks in Spring; fleas not a problem. Just read some shocking reports about affects short and long term. Got me wondering if Jake's sudden two spells of ataxia were related. I only used it three times this year and won't need anything till Spring so hoping I'll remember to note any relation if he has any more "spells." They came on suddenly and only lasted less than an hour but quite disturbing for him and us. Peeps might want to look up Advantage, Advantix, and others and weigh the advantages and disadvantages. Don't worry much about Lyme disease here; mostly Rocky Mountain Fever which can be fatal.

{edit} Just looked this up. When one of our ticks starts crawling on me and probably a bite or two before latching on I break out immediately all over much of my body. Same with the little black flies whose bites hurt like hell and bring out a drop of blood. They can eat all the skin off of dog ear edges in a day. Luckily they are only heavy for a couple of weeks.

"A brown to black tick with a white splotch on its back is likely a female Amblyomma americanum (Lone Star tick; named after the white splotch) (picture 2). This species of tick has been reported to spread an illness called STARI (southern tick-associated rash illness). STARI causes a rash that is similar to the erythema migrans rash, but without the other features of Lyme disease. Although this rash is thought to be caused by an infection, a cause for the infection has not yet been identified. This type of tick can also carry and transmit another infection called human monocytic ehrlichiosis."

    Happy Halloween Reonauts!!!

Get to leave work early for a family Halloween Party, Chili for dinner and

I'm going trick or treating w/my little knight and Cinderella tonight!!!

Awww...that sounds like so much fun. Take lots of pictures!!! One of my favorite pictures is from when my little one was a little angel.

I sure wish I could take my little devil now...but she keeps getting in trouble right before Halloween, so she hasn't been trick or treating but once in the last 4 years. I wish she would get her crap together....I feel like such a bad parent for pulling the plug on things like sleepovers, Halloween and birthday parties, etc. She hasn't even had access to her electronics in months. But I refuse to reward bad behavior. *sigh*

Good evening Reoville. Well I got my treat for the day. Whoa!

I grew up outside Buffalo NY and we had a night called Beggars night. It was the night before Halloween and you could go trick or treating the night before as well. I have no idea how that originated. Mom would not let us kids go out on Beggars night.

Lisa, your daughter looks so much like you in that picture.

Ya she does! I got me some strong DNA!
Even this more recent pic bears a strong resemblance....though her hair is a lot more curly now, and mine not so much.
