I just returned from the puppy ER. It seems Earl had to get the last little bit of marrow from his femur bone. In the process of doing so, he managed to get his lower jaw inside the hollow of the bone
All we heard was a yelp and saw a brown & white blur running by. After getting him calmed down. I discovered he was not in any way inclined to let me get the bone off. The Evil One, always the voice of reason, wouldn't let me try the Benadryl/Dremel option. She has tickets tonight to see Alton someone, a chef from the food channel, in Grand Rapids. Of course this occurred about 5 minutes after our Vet's office closed and we (meaning I) were stuck going to the puppy ER in Kalamazoo (about an hour away). She rode with me to keep Earl calm on the ride over (see voice of reason above) and had her girlfriend follow us to the ER. Once there, it was a 15 minute procedure to get Earl deboned (most of which was me filling out paperwork). I'm happy to report Earl is fine and napping comfortably. They gave him some propythol (sp), the Michael Jackson drug. According to the vet, it knocks them out quick and has a very short recovery time
Also, I bought a 14500 Mini Woodvil today
Master of Bassets...and not much else.
