Still purring along. Well over 215 thousand miles and still happy how's the ford ? You asking cause maybe you need a Dodge ? How's ya doing Ed ?

Ford's finished mechanically. Needs paint and maybe new carpets. Running great. 177,000 miles. I am gonna have a Dodge built to my specs next year though.

Ya. What I've seen of the F550's we run at work I'd never buy one. They are just too complicated if anything goes wrong. Have to take the cab off to do simple little things on them. Even changing the serpentine a if a feat of acrobatics to do it

I agree with you completely, I had a horrible time w/ coughing in the beginning. I knew I wanted to quit analogs really bad and stuck w/ it, now no more coughing. Also, in the beginning to help me reduce coughing i would draw vapes into my mouth then inhale/hold/exhale.

Perhaps that is why I haven't had the coughing issues. I've never done it any other way. In the mouth first, then inhale...just like I did when I smoked.

Lisa and Susie,

I've been tryng for years to get him to pickup vaping (one of my buddies that belongs to our Sunday nite beer bust, high school classmate, his best man when he got married). Tried hard to get him to use a REO but like most newbies, couldn't justify the cost . He's been doing roll your own cigs and thought they were cheap. His wife is a rep for Clarins (sp) and got discounts in stores in the mall so he decided on a tube mod. Saw him a few days after purchase and he was still smoking the same as before. Told me his juice is "too strong" (8%) and he hardly uses it anymore. Told him its natural to cough and to stick it out for a week and it'll go away. I didn't see him coughing so I don't know how bad it was. He's now doing 4% and says the coughing has stopped but he still smokes a pack a day.. Wanna take a baseball bat to him but he's smaller than me so I'll let him go fer now :). We'll meet again tonight wish me luck.

I do wish you luck....though it sounds more like an excuse to me. I bet he's just not ready yet. No amount of pushing is going to change that. he's got to be the one to make that call. I think most of us have done that in some fashion during our transitions. I know I certainly did. We have to remember that we were all smoking, KNOWING, that it was killing us. And we were all okay with it. Don't worry...he's started. That's a step in the right direction. At some point, I'm sure he's going to come around and try to find out what he's doing wrong that it works so well for you but not him. Part of it may be the juice or hardware or both....but I think the majority of it is the addiction. :)

Here's my favourite bit: i go outside with the smokers at work thru choice. They have to stub them out and go back to work after a break and i can stroll about leaving contrails all over the place. When i go into the accounts office they go "oh what's that lovely smell? like candy" etc!

Beats the hell out of 'get out and freeze to death you evil smelling polluting walking cancer machine' - i'm from England and people can be rather blunt! ;)

Really depends on how long you'd like to live for and what abuse you are prepared to withstand. When i was single i was much more carefree. When you have family and wives and kids it's a different equation.

Yea mines an old 96 International 7.3. F350. I do most of the work on it myself. Got 650,000 out of the last one. I hope this one does as well. I put on a 2-ton suspension, T-1 injectors, fast spooling turbo, suncoast 6 spd trans, Banks chip, 5 in. SS exhaust. Right now its running 350 hp @ 26 mpg. I can bump it up to nearly 500 hp but there goes my mileage. I got so much work into it, if the motor goes, I'll proly put a Cummins in it.

For some of us...though I have to admit...my addiction held me so fast that I was ready to lose my husband over it. Not too long before I got my Reo I had effectively made the decision to keep smoking regardless of what affect it was going to have on my marriage. :( I was tired of fiddling around and tired of "failing" to be smoke free. I gave up. One of the lower points in my life.

I'm a firm believer that diesels are meant to be built inline. Put in a v the tend to wobble too much if an injector goes sour. Plus they need maintenance and its a bear on the V models. I drive a sterling dump truck and just love it.
