Dave, I never thanked you for the wax you sent. I was even thinking of using it on my wooden furniture (those glass tables in my screenshots) instead of just on my Woodvil's. I haven't broken it open yet, nor do I know the type of wood my tables are, but I'm thinking it should be safe. Afterall, I've been using Orange Glo on them which I hear is sacreligious to some of my woody friends.

And Rob, that's exactly what I wanna do. I just need something to meter it because I wanna be as accurate as possible when I mark it, even though I'm sure with some arithmetic geometry maybe it can be done blindly, I'd prefer to use a meter. Stupid question but do you think I can do the same with a multimeter (assuming someone shows me how) or are multimeters only for batteries & ohms?

Good morning, REOvil!
Coffee's hot, fave ADV is good and steeped now, house is cool enough to fog up the windows, and bunnies are playing right in my view.
Not bad for a Monday

edit; I shouldn't have posted this crap on here, sorry, if anyone read it before i deleted it...
I'm so sad after reading about your daughter. Once upon a time coke ruled my life too. Very few things in life do I regret, but the way I treated family during that time tops the list.
The only reason I ended up okay is my family seemingly turned their backs on me. Finally landed in jail, family refused to post bail and I was locked up for 13 months straight. I am so very thankful for that time now. It takes a while without rescue for that crap to quit controlling every devious thought.
I am sending you the biggest hug I've ever sent. ((((((((((Kay))))))))))

Not silly at all. I have a silver paint pen and took a toothpick to apply just a tiny bit of silver paint on the wheel at 4.2v. I usually run between 3.8 and 4.6 so pretty easy to get close to my setting with just the single 'middle' mark this way.

Brilliant minds think alike...I did that same thing with my vv's...

Aw...sweet Jen...I really can't imagine you doing that...and thank you for the huge hug. If only her husband would man up, but he refuses. Now my poor grandaughter has to take over the responsibility of her younger sister, but it's been going on for over 20 yrs., I really don't see anything changing as long as her husband refuses to do anything...he's literally scared to death of his own wife. I've called him a eunich(sp). I managed to put her in a treatment center once...he took her out... I guess I'm stressing about this episode because in a couple of weeks I'll be living in the same area. Thankfully it's a gated community cuz my daughter's insane when she's high...I've had to have her arrested a few times...assault n battery...

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day. " this too shall pass"

My one-car garage is full of garage sale items, the stuff is spilling out half way down the drive, I have half the stuff in the house packed.I even put an add in the local paper and I've never done that, lol.
I guess I'm doing some major downsizing.I was going to take one flower pot for the balcony, but i'm not even going to do that!

Maybe I'm going "light" in case I have to make a quick exit from that area!

Good morning everybody!

Not sure how often I will really be here posting. I do check in on what's going on daily, but I do not read every post like I used to. Not knowing everything that is going on makes it feel a bit weird to chat.

Pixi and I are still going strong on our Reos, though probably in need of new batteries. They seem to not last as long as they used to, which is really evident with her 14500s. Been thinking about getting her the REO 2.1s, but she has been using her remaining Woodvil Mini as it is easier on her arthritis. Although breaking the firing pin on both of her metal Minis possibly has something to do with it as well. We will get those in to Rob next month when we have a few bucks to spare for shipping and repairs.

She did not even tell me they were broken until I asked why she had been using her Woodvil Mini when going out. Even then did not tell me they were broken, until I told her I would be cleaning them on the next Sunday. I am guessing her's get dirtier quicker than mine somehow, so she pushes harder on her button or the smaller batteries die out causing her to mash the button expecting more power. All in all, not sure if the Woodvil Mini is easier on her, or she just did not want to tell me she broke her metal Minis.

Good morning, REOville:)

jack-russell-puppies-1.jpg

Posting Jack Russel Terriers because I'm really missing capppy (it's his pups' breed). Are you in touch with him, Kay? How is he doing? Kay, I'm so very sorry to hear of your heartache with your daughter. I have a LOT of experience dealing with both friends and family who've had great struggles with addiction. Anytime you might want to talk about that, please PM me.

RHP, if you find just the sort of meter you're looking for, please let me know, as I'd also love one for my VVG.

I'm tutoring my favorite 4 ESL students today, so it's a good day for me, and I hope the same for my REOfam. Mouthwatering Monday vapes to all:vapor:!

My sis is coming over in a while, she says we're going on a "short road trip",lol...probably to the restaurant we went to the last time on the shore of lake Huron, where they have the most awesome lemon meringue we've ever had except for our Mom's...with the mernigue on top it's about eight inches high!
Everyone have a great day!

Becky, thank you for the concern and the offer, but there's nothing I can do where my daughter is concerned, her husband needs to step up. Neither of them have any contact with any of their relatives cuz of the hell my daughter has put everyone through over the years. As long as he condones and enables her there's nothing we can do. We even tried to set up an intervention...but he refused...

I haven't heard from cappy since he went to Fl. the last time, but he posted when Jack passed so I would guess that he reads here once in a while.

I have one of those clear round meters that I've rarely used...if you want it, pm me your addie and I'll send it to you, Becky.

Now I have to go get cleaned up...the cable guy is coming over to hook up my new 47 in. flatscreen, then I have to go exchange the 36 in. cuz it's been wonky since I got it last Jan. ( good excuse to get a bigger one, huh!) I'm giving the 36 incher to my grandaughter cuz she doesn't have a tv at all, only one of those dinosaur types that belongs to her landlord.

Boy I'm a chatty one this morn...

I don't know any of the particulars here, but I can tell you that the reason I am in Phoenix is because my parents threw me the hell out of Texas in '85 because I had some demons I couldn't - and didn't want to - beat in my current environment. At the time I hated them bitterly for it, but the change of location and the emotional slap-in-the-face that comes from having your family turn their back on you turned my crap around. Upon hindsight, it's the best thing they could have done for me and I have no doubt that had they not acted, I'd be dead or in prison by now. I know it was agonizing for them, but it paid off in my case.

Parenting is hard work, and sometimes you have to play the bad guy to help make good things happen.

You can use a mulmeter to do that. I'm not sure how the metal VVG is wired at the button (side) but it should have a red wire going to the post where the sqonk tube connects. So probably one wire to the switch from the chip, one wire fron the switch to the tube. Not sure how its grounded, might be inside the delin cover. Try the metal case for a ground. I'll bet there is a pic or two of the insides of one somewhere here.

RocketRod, thanks for the advice brother. I've been going out of my way to avoid using a multimeter but in the process I'm finding more and more reasons to get one and most importantly, learning a thing or two along the way. Besides, I need to recoup some man points I lost earlier when I said I never road a motorcycle before.

And welcome to the Lounge if this is your first time!
